There's no definitive answer to where Darth came from. It's first use was in dark Horse comics. Darth Bane is the sole surviving Sith after Sith treachery led them to lose a giant battle that wiped them out. He adopted the rule of two and all apprentices afterwards adopted the name Darth in his honor. It's also been theorized that Darth is a shortened form of DARk lord of the siTH. Could be a little of both. Then with KOTOR though continuity is broken a little. So we have to go with Darth being a Sith title that Bane either had or logically adopted when he was the last one left. That all Sith afterwards used since with only two in the universe who else is supposed to be a Dark Lord of the Sith. Oh it is NOT an alien. I'd bet anything. It will be human and I theorise female. Like I said porcelain masks makes me thinks of dolls. And dolls do not make me think of tough or sinister. They do make me think of children though which is why I think they probably will be slightly mad and use insanity or death field. Insane characters are normally portrayed with some sort of childlike influence to them. Like Kefka looking like a clown in ... uh oh is it FF5 or 6? Malak was also pretty weak in the visuals dept. The completely unexplained missing jaw just so he could have a Darth Vader look with the whole I lost part of my body and replaced it with metal. The skunk look. Which were Sith tattoos on his pale skin but man that did not translate well. (Anyone notice those red streaks on the mask look just like the black ones on malak's head?) The tight red suit that looked like leather... A tad gay. A LOINCLOTH! :D What was Bioware thinking? At least his cape was kewl. And his voice was good though only because it reminded me of Vader with the "this voice is obviously being made with the help of some machinery." Plus he took Revan out the cowardly way and constantly ran in terror from him on the Star Forge. OH MY GOD REVAN IS COMING STALL HIM! I'M NOT READY TO FACE HIM. <_< That's weakness right there. Those 3 sith should have attacked him on the spot. Hopefully this character will make up for the porcelain doll mask and Sith Nun clothing with a delightfully insane and pure evil attitude. Just like Kefka made up for his ludicrous appearance. I don't know why but seeing her drive someone insane or causing them to just drop dead for a small infraction is much better than Malak bombing an entire planet. Maybe it's because it is more personal and more a reflection of their force power instead of the power of their fleet. She should definitely be a pure force user. I don't want to see her whipping out a double ls and force jumping at my character. It's late and I'm rambling. I'll stop now.

there are no neutral jedi by definition. they may stay neutral in planetary or cultural affairs- but they are goody good-doers. the "neutral" or "grey" jedi as often stated are those that have strayed aside from the jedi path but have not (yet) fallen to the dark side. if you wanna play a cynic- just act like one throughout the game. lying and working for personal gain is ok- harming others is not. that way, you'll stay about as neutral as it gets. That's just what the Jedi council WANT you to believe. That there is no way but their way. Their as bad as the Sith. Luke and the NJO are different. Kyle Katarn is definitely a neutral Jedi for example. And he doesnt have to get constant lectures from Luke on what it means to be lightside. Jolee is another neutral Jedi. Luke seemed very much like a more neutral Jedi in the OT. Don't be fooled by GL making SW kiddy friendly with black and white. Shades of gray are best. I'm not even going to get into the millions of arguments I've seen on what constitutes neutral behavior and Jedi action in movies and whether this is good or bad behavior. I do think GL has made the Jedi more neutral in the new movies. They don't fight for "good" unless ordered to by the Republic. They let slavery exist on a planet and do nothing to save Anakin's mother and seem to believe in expressing no emotion at all. They might as well be robots. Let's have some Jedi that act like frigging people. (Like in the NJO) -
God This Place Died Quick

Maybe interest has died down when everyone realized Kotor 2 is more like kotor 1.5 and are simply more excited about a million other more exciting games coming down the pipe. -
Could be. The amor resembles Mandalorian armor and the blaster is a heavy repeater. Of course it also resembles sith armor. Could just be a heavy sith trooper of some kind. Just one of Im sure hordes of nameless NPCs to slaughter for buckets of XP.
-
Might as well use the trailer for KOTOR1. They are shaping up to be practically the same game.

HK-47 would never disobey a direct order from you.

LOL. yeah, what does Lucas know? he only created Star Wars. p.s. i'm not saying episodes 1 and 2 were necessarily good movies, but arguing against them as canon is about as pointless an exercise as drilling a hole in your head. Not really. Once a universe has grown as insanely large as SW can with so many authors and venues it's incredibly easy to ignore something as small(in the grand scheme of things) as a two hour movie. How hard would it be to pretend EP. 1 and 2 didn't happen? What would it affect? Absolutely nothing. Just because someone creates something doesn't mean they can't screw it up by deciding to turn an adult film/novel into kiddy, family friendly crap. And if they do then you can choose to ignore it. Especially when the majority are behind you in agreeing it is crap. That's why universes like DnD and SW can last so long. Someone writes a bad book? There's a million more to choose from with a different author and a different take on it.

Personally I think he has some gender issues. The face mask looks like a porcelain doll. Which certainly doesn' make me think tough and sinister. Though possibly slightly mad. And the hood looks more like a habit. Oooooh a Sith Lord Nun. Terrifying. I also shouldn't say he since I think it will be a woman.
-
Only in crappy movies most SW fans hate and try to ignore. Don't be limited by GL's filth. You should write in such a way as to demonstrate the Council is made up of individuals. There should be intrigue and disagreements. Some might disregard something while others consider it very important indeed. So much more real and entertaining than the "The Council has spoken now every member thinks this way that we have agreed upon" way that they seem to be portrayed. GL decided the Council is apparently made up of all the most out of touch, ignorant, closeminded members of the Jedi. Except Yoda of course but even he still does absolutely nothing just because the Council has decided and they can't be wrong?!

Am I supposed to care? It's all subjective. I certainly wouldn't want to work there. SW isn't the greatest thing ever.

My New Giant List of Suggestions
Shdy314 replied to lordcecil's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its not hard to stay neutral. Never be too good. Don't do quests for no reward but don't kill people left and right. Do force choke and dominate mind to show your superiority and promise vengeance against evil but Don't plot the deaths of lightside characters. The benefit of being neutral is casting any power without negative force cost. This is balanced so good characters run out quickly using anything but good powers and vice versa fore evil ones but a neutral Jedi runs out just as fast casting any powers he wants. -
a few suggestion for storyline in kotor2
Shdy314 replied to carnifex's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's why XP should only be given for quest completion. And if it is anything like KOTOR1 there will be so much XP it doesn't matter if you were skip a planet or two let alone not kill every Sith trooper in a base. What do they give like 100xp??? Who cares. -

Dark Side REALLY needs work for KOTOR II

Regular people don't know what Dark Jedi robes are. And my lightside character always wore the Dark Jedi robes. They were so much kewler. -

Shdy314 replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They think you look like a Jedi because of your clothing(if wearing Jedi robes) and the lightsaber in your hand. Jedi are mysterious to the vast majority of the universe. So they aren't up on how you are too pale and veiny to be a Jedi you must be a Sith. They could just think you are an ugly Jedi. -

I know what your argument is based on. Which is why we definitely need to find out for sure. Otherwise it'd be silly to keep discussing it. The description of the feat in the manual and strat guide is very unclear. It may even be different in the PC and X-box versions. We need to verify this before we talk further. If you're right then power attack is useful. -

You're argumejnt is flawed because Im 70% certain power attack only adds damage to the first attack. So an extra attack virtually gauranteed to be above 10 is better. -
What character do you plan to create for Kotor2?
Shdy314 replied to ramza's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I never had much trouble with the force powers slapping me down. By the time the old sith meat puppets started throwing themselves at me I was a cold-blooded killing machine. I mean, when you're a human force bomb blwoing everyone around, they haven't much chance of using that level 1 DS power of "Mild discomfort"... Thats only because the enemies had crappy AI. If you'd been fighting a PC controlled consular... Plague (No save) Force breach any buffs you have master speed, master valor and you'd be toast since even high AC isn't very hard to hit. At least that's how Malak went down. -

Im not so sure power attack adds the damage to each hit. Someone check this please. I think it is just the first one. -

Exactly. Can't know to give your consular 15 wisdom put all level up ability points into wisdom without knowing of the Star Forge Robes and Circlet of Saresh. Im sure any build (including those) will be just fine. -

Shdy314 replied to ramza's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You min stats you don't use and max stats you will. For example creating the ultimate fighter means an int of 10 usually. But it all depends. You need a lot more information. It usually requires playing the game once to see how important skills are, what feats are best etc. So the first play through I just play whatever character I think seems the kewlest. Then you can play around with creating the ultimate consular, ultimate saber user etc. -

Us powergamers do a little something called min/maxing. And we need a lot more information before we can properly formulate our powergaming layouts for different characters. -
