  1. No you weren't. To paraphrase you said,"This thread is pointless. The mods should lock it. You don't see this stuff on the force.net. Did I mention Im a mod there? Yeah I work there. Im super kewl." Blah Blah Blah. Same stuff you always say. Like you're trying to get people to go over to your sad SW forums. You can just mind your own business and let others have their fun. You aren't a mod here. You don't have to inspect the quality of the moderators here or anything. You are the most anal retentive person I've ever met on a message board.
  2. I hear you. The personal attacks made on people made here is another thing that needs to be cleaned up as well. I've complained about it a few times, but so far no response from the forum moderators. Just take it like a man. Or woman. Whatever. If you have ever had your feelings hurt on an anonymous forum I feel sad for you. Someone launches a personal attack no need to whine to a mod. Just ignore them.
  3. Ah and the robotic limb requests begin. I remember in the Kotor forums this would be brought up every few days. <_< Good times.
  4. Krea is supposed to communicate with you telepathically.
  5. Allegiance to what? I have an allegiance to good RPGs which I hope KOTOR2 will be. Otherwise the only other SW game I own is Jedi Academy. And other than that I don't own a single SW product aside from the original trilogy on VHS. But I see what you're saying and basically agree.

  7. And instead we got what? Crap. So at least it could have been crap fans would have liked. SW fanfic is by and large crap and has nothing to do with anything. I was thinking more of professional writers that work in the SW universe. Actually the best WRITERS create for others. Art is different. One painting isn't the same as a series of movies. Unless you don't care about commercial success. No it is called reality. GL has legal control of a creation that nets him millions of dollars annually. This money isn't given to him by god for his genius. It comes from somewhere. But where??? Oh yeah. Customers aka fans. You piss off your fan base at your own peril my friend. What do you think would happen if every SW fan decided to do the smart thing and not see Ep. 3? Massive tanking of the film that's what. Let's see GL absorb those losses. Uh huh. Well first of all excuse me for not being an old man and growing up in the 70's on star wars. But I never said something on the back of a baseball card was canon. Unfortunately Lucasarts has said Movies, books and games in that order are canon. So what you know something LA doesn't? I'd like to think GL could at least have been smart enough to maintain a tight control on his creation. Arnold Schwarzenegger maintains complete control over his image especially his image as the Terminator. NO ONE uses it without serious litigation. He even goes after some incredibly minor offenses. If GL had the same tenacity and business savvy we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm glad you decided 20 years ago or whatever that if GL didn't write it then you weren't interested but a vast majority of publications have been written with LA approval that have been read by a lot of people. So excuse me If I don't care about what one guy decided decades ago. Ah the arrogance of the old. Ender Wiggin actually bothered responding with some fact to back up his argument. I see you couldn't do the same. How sad. Fact: GL should have maintained a tight grip on his own creation. If not I am more than in the right to blame him for his carelessness. Fact: Anything with a Lucasarts stamp is canon but is trumped by the movies. Fact: The vast majority of Sw fans hate the new movies. Piece it all together. If GL wanted to take a few decades getting the prequel sorted out in his mind the least he could have done is actually made the story better than what other writers have come up with over the years. Ah the outrage of people that expect quality for their money. <_<
  8. Not true. I nailed him with two Plasma grenades (reloading when he made his save for either of them) then used an energy shield. He chews through it in only one round of shooting, but that's enough to lob another Plasma grenade. Regardless, the consensus is correct: combat is too easy. One character taken on at an artificially deflated level is the exception to the rule. I don't know about that. Three plasma grenades are not usually enough to kill Bendak. Are you on the hardest difficulty setting? Is this a constant thing or did he just make some lousy saving throws?
  9. No that's an appropriate response since that could easily lead to a large and loud argument/public disturbance. If you say anything that may set the guy off Carth is yelling is a bad idea when going incognito.
  10. Because it's reached its logical conclusion? Can't turn a thread to senseless babling if the majority of posters are still posting seriously and on topic.
  11. HEHEHE Reminds me of how early screenshots caused all kinds of confusion in the KOTOR forums with Sith troopers seeming to fight on your side. Lots of speculation that you could take over the Sith at some point or a part in the game had everyone dressed as Sith troopers. Really early screenshots are slapped together to show action and don't reveal storyline since slapping them together creates the craziest results. There is a very good chance he is simply a Heavy Assault type Sith trooper to be the regular cannon fodder for high level Jedi's.
  12. Different engine? Different priorities? Different game? And I believe Sony made that awesome customization.
  13. Nah plasma grenades are too expensive. I use concs and then shoot him or frags and a poison grenade, sometimes a cryo grenade just cuz it's pretty. Thanks for the advice though. I did mention I'd beat him you know. And at level 2 it's impossible to beat him WITHOUT using concs. Doesn't make him easy though. One failed conc grenade which happens quite a bit means he'll recover and shoot you which is pretty much instant death. Even plasma grenades don't do enough damage to kill him very quickly. Especially on hard setting.
  14. Devs have a hard time reading and responding to really long posts. They are very busy people after all. So if you really want them to hear what you have to say shorten it to your top two suggestions they can skim over.
  15. First of all it's an SP game. People can cheat to their hearts content if they so desire. They payed 50 dollars for the game to play it their way. Not so you can tell them how it should be played. Second, some of us were just a little PO'd to find out we had to wait 8 frigging levels to get the Jedi we we're promised. So we could be a nice level 12 jedi while all our NPC's we're level 18-20 Jedi. Yeah that was genius on Bioware's part. <_< Revan! Former Dark Lord of the Sith. one of the most powerful jedi ever! Level 12. <_< Maybe if they had made combat and levels more like PnP where 12 actually IS high. But they didn't so forgive me, oh great god of how I should play my games, If I wan't to be a Jedi.
  16. He's not a joke when youre 2 levels! One hit from him means instant death.
  17. I'm going to whatch Episode III for that scene alone. Partly because Obi-wan is my favored character int he movie, partly because i hate Anakin even more then i hate Jar-Jar, and partly because i know that would be the last Sar Wars movie Lucas is ever going to make. Hopefully, he's going to turn into a senile old goon and somebody else will make a good Star Wars sequel, for a change...
  18. HA! Your entire argument is flawed. As you said of course you should attempt to prevail your beliefs on others or why have them? Well do the Jedi believe slavery is wrong or not? If they think it is justifiable that is just sick. And inaction is just as bad as condoning it. Moral Relativism is true to the extent different cultures have different values but after recognizing that people have to accept that their belief is better or switch to whichever they think is best. You can't just let each culture be or the Jedi would be evil to attack the Sith. Heroes do NOT say oh slavery is despicable but it's legal on this Hutt planet so I better try to help a single slave in anyway or Ill slip to the dark side. That's insane. Oh ok so the Civil War just meant the North was stronger. If the South had won it would still be OK to have slaves. Yeah, it's easy for you to talk all abstract about something completely dehumanizing and evil I think your views would be a little more realistic if you or someone you knew had ever dealt with slavery. Know anyone that's ever been raped? In some countries men aren't persecuted for it so it must be ok right? Depends on what law you set yourself above? Hutt law? Don't make me laugh. Is smuggling medical supplies to refugees truly evil. Yep i can see how that person would definitely be a Sith. Heroes which I like to think the Jedi are supposed to be, try to make people's lives better. Not maintain the status quo everywhere. Hmmm do I think practical people would take well to having their laws and cultures judged by an unnaccountable elite of mystics? Well ignoring the broad ignorance of that sweeping statement I would say it has to be judged on a case by case basis. First of all should the Jedi care if Hutt crimelords consider them to be a pain in their backside because they keep stopping their weapons smuggling? Hmmm you know what I guess not. Might all the people being adversely affected by it be grateful? Yes I think so. I am not saying the Jedi should sweep down as an army on planets and purge them of everything they consider evil and rewrite all the laws etc. I am saying if two Jedi stumble across two slaves on an Outer Rim world taking only the child because he is useful and leaving the mother behind is evil. No way around it. Yeah. Jedi saving two slaves is like priests bombing abortion clinis. You try to argue with the most insane of analogies. The Jedi should have their own code. Maybe something along the lines of defending truth and justice throughout the galaxy. Geez, that'd be nice. Of course we can't defend them if their not on a core world. Oh but wait what if a cult arises on Coruscant worshipping the Sith and wants to separate? What should we do? It'd be wrong not to accept their different beliefs. <_< Whatever let's see what you want to say next to argue slavery isn't inherently good or evil.
  19. For once you are absolutely right Tyrell. Nothing Hayden Christiansen can do will ever elevate him beyond arrogant little punk ass bitch that couldn't cut it as a Jedi. He could strangle a dolphin on screen and people still won't find him a believable villain. Especially once he gets his ass handed to him by Obi-wan. So sad that people will be cheering not because it's kewl and Obi-wan has temporarily vanquished a great evil but because Hayden Christiansen won't be on screen anymore. By the way I don't blame Hayden Christiansen, I blame the writing and directing.
  20. Hehehehe that line wasn't even meant as an insult. You've got some insecurities. I couldn't give less of a s*** what you do for the gaming industry. I don't care if you are Gabe Newell's personal fluffer. I like how you just assume my dream career is what you do. Stop trying to use what you do to offset the fact you are a ponce. No one is going to kiss your ass. At least no one with any dignity. If I had been using that line to get to you it obviously worked. You feel the need to post after every minor criticism with how great your life/job is. It's terribly unconvincing. Why don't you go back to enjoying those free games and stuff? And I will go back to my life. I'd give you a long description of it but wait I'm not an uptight insecure, little prig. You're on a frigging message board man. There's nothing lower than looking for respect and admiration on a message board. And finally I'm rather glad you have so much going on in your life. It will lessen the pain of being a crappy writer. OXM sucks. So does SW Insider. I'll stick to the Economist. My life doesn't revolve around this game or any other game. I know this must be shocking to you. I realize you must think you are the envy of every one on the message board But I don't cry that I don't go to E3 or any other convention. And at most 1 truly good game comes out every few months so i don't envy you having a large library of mediocre games. Hey if you have so much to do go create your own website to worship you. And post all the articles you want. You could even set up a message board and be a mod. I know that is kind of a wet dream for you. Now let's see if you feel an overwhelming need to post how great you are and nothing I have said has affected you. <_< Guess I'm just immature. I like goading people on a message board and seeing who takes the bait. (Jiggles the line) Come on little fishie. Look at the yummy bait.
  21. The reason why I gave that little background cause he thought that I'm probably going to or trying to pursue a career in journalism. I just wanted to point out that I'm in College now for Computer Science, totally different. Oh, and don't worry, everytime someone flames my article(s) you won't get that message again. Yes but it's silly. I doubt he will ever read it. And my point was he wasn't making a real criticism to try and improve your work or offer you honest life advice he was just flaming you. No response will change that. But I'll breathe a lot easier knowing you aren't pursuing writing as a full time career.
  22. Actually, most cultures in Roman times didn't have a problem with slavery, any more than they believed in universal rights. Slaves might not have wanted to be slaves, but that's not the same thing as believing slavery itself to be wrong. Sure, you can say that Roman civilization was evil. (Any society where a head of household has the right to have his children executed at will, for any reason or no reason at all, strikes me as a bit questionable). But can you prove it to the Romans? The Jedi are already unaccountable. I don't think going about ordering the normal folks to change their ways would be a good thing for their order in the long run. As for the Jolee business -- can we make a distinction between having Jedi levels and being a member of the Jedi Order, please? (Drakron says that's impossible under D20 rules, but who cares? Not Bio.) I know most cultures didn't have a problem with it. America didn't have a problem with it for a long time either. Sure as hell doesn't make it right. Moral relativism is stupid. But we are talking about SW not ancient rights and values. You are never going to convince me that the Jedi would go darkside if they "disrespected" Hutt culture. The Hutts are freaking crime bosses! Yeah it'd be so evil to stop smuggling, slavery, murder, etc. Those evil Jedi forcing their beliefs on everyone else. Maybe a bad example since he went DS but I thought it was extremely kewl to learn I had helped Juhani and broke up a slave auction on my way to the Mandalorian wars. That was when I thought. FINALLY! A little proof I can redeem myself. I wasn't always DARTH Revan. Drakron is a bit of a stickler for the rules. I am more willing to go with my imagination and if there's a good backstory behind it I say allow it. Lots of people were stickler for the rules in DnD 2nd edition and screamed bloody murder if you tried to make a half orc paladin and things like that. But really who wants to be the same old thief for the 100 times. The interesting characters are the ones that haven't been done a thousand times before.
  23. Had a lot of flaws in the combat system. Otherwise a pretty good and very unique RPG.
  24. Sure Day of Defeat, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Counterstrike and Half Life itself. Don't need to convince me I'm buying the game!
