  1. Thanks!
  2. How well does that system work? I've looked at the Eberron main book, and it looks interesting <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really good, actually. We're all rather burnt-out on the Tolkien-lite traditional fantasy, so the noir aspect of Eberron really spices things up. The Action Points work nicely, though I wasn't sure about them at first. Probably the biggest problem, though, is getting people to play something other than gnomes (Eberron has a gnomish assassin guild funded by the gnomish government), shifters, and warforged. My players love the new races, and no one has the same take on them, so they're all different.
  3. Umm, they came with the computer. <looks sheepish>
  4. Already budgeted for that, some weekend fun, some extra groceries, five hundred for savings, and getting ahead on bills. Seriously, this is $100 that I don't have to spend on anything else at all, except myself. Been a long time since I've done this, which is why I am asking for advice.
  5. I typically play characters who are similar to the old skool 1E Ranger. That means, in 3.x, that we use my "Ranger Restored", rather than the 3.5 ranger. I like the idea of a good warrior who can do more than simply swing a sword, and who can survive without a party if need be.
  6. Good suggestion, but I have other money going into the bank. This is going to be payback for me spending all my gift money and spare money on necessities, while letting my wife blow all of her spending money. I plan on enjoying it, barring any unforeseen accidents (which do tend to occur whenever I have spare money).
  7. ..and I could use some suggestions. I've thought about upgrading my PC and maybe getting a game. I've got an Athlon XP 2400, 384 MB RAM, and a GeForce 2. I can probably afford to upgrade my RAM to 512 and still have money for a new game, but I'm not sure. Don't think that I can upgrade my VC significantly for less than $100, but if I can I'd be interested in what type to get. For games I thought about KotOR2 PC (beaten it several times on X-Box, but it was just too addictive) or maybe even WoW (which would be my first foray into MMORPGs). Of course, I could always buy some new books, but there hasn't been much out in recent years to pique my interest, save some new DnD books which I already have. Or, I could buy some DVDs, and have something to watch. Or, I could buy a cheap TV so that I can play with my X-Box or PS2 and my wife can watch movies. I dunno. It's been so long since I have had money to just blow on anything that I don't know what to do with it (currently, all my money goes to bills, food, gas, and diapers). Seriously, I could use suggestions and explanations as to why whatever is being suggested is a good idea. Thanks in advance!
  8. That's what I did when I went through the game the first time. It makes her very effective.
  9. Currently, it's D&D 3.x (3.5 for the most part, though with some 3.0 rules, and several house rules, including my d10 less-thiefy ranger), set in the Eberron campaign world (specifically around Sharn).
  10. About a year and a half ago I got a Compaq Presario at Wal-Mart for $523 (that's with the tax, BTW). Came with an Athlon XP 2400 (2+ GHz processor), 40 GB HDD, CD-RW, NIC (of course), on-board 32-bit video card (though I just use my GeForce 2), and that nice factory partition that makes reloading a breeze. Only 128 megs of RAM, but I've since expanded that to 384. Seeing as I only make a little over 15k a year and support my wife and daughter on it (thank you IT companies for sending all your jobs overseas), it was a good investment. Once I get a job that pays comparable to my skill level and education (in the process of interviewing for 3 right now), I'll get me one of those new Compaq X gaming machines. Gamespot gave it good marks on everything except wire-tying and customer support (as Compaq makes no distinction between gaming and home use lines as yet). Heck, the one Gamespot reviewed comes with an Athlon 64, 1 gig RAM (expandable to 3 gigs), Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra, DVD
  11. With Bao-Dur, you have to have an extremely high influence to turn him into a Jedi/Sith and get what happened between him and the Exile. The way to do this? Have him in your party as much as possible, at Atris' be nice to him and have him join you, and have him for some very specific situations. Bao-Dur isn't influenced by convo options, but by actions you take and him witnessing. It does make the story more coherent, BTW.
  12. Your post-post-script should've come first, Volo, for those who haven't played the game yet... As to your review, you are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to tell you that much of what you are complaining about is addressed later in the game, and the results are often quite different than what you "believe" in the beginning.
  13. This happened to me as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  14. Charisma increases Influence and companions' chance to hit. It also decreases penalties for using opposite-alignment powers.
  15. Or, you could try using RegCleaner (much nicer than RegSupreme) and delete the registry keys that way. BTW, RegCleaner is completely free and fully-functional (no 30-day trial BS like RegSupreme). Just delete the LucasArts registry entries dealing with KotOR 2 (I've had to do this before with BG2) under the main menu.
  16. I've had problems with Yahoo! for the last 3 days, but not with OE.
  17. I realize that it is probably not possible, but if we're dreaming, hey, dream big. Hire Josh, buy Jeff, and do it.
  18. Grey deLisle as the Handmaiden. Not only does she do the voice-acting, but she is hot!
  19. Hmm, I thought that this was a reference to KotOR1 and the secret compartment in the cargo hold. As for the starboard dorm, found that.
  20. Many are perfectly decent people, and there are many hateful people, in the Christian fold. Just like any other religion or group of people, it's a mixed bunch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Off-topic: Thanks, Phosphor; yours was the only reply that didn't accuse me of being a mass-murderer, fool, charlatan, afraid, or stupid.
  21. fewer topics/posts.
  22. And now, the award for most homoerotic thread goes to...
