Nope. It's revealed in the end credits of MGS1, in Ocelot's coversation with Solidus, that Snake was the lesser clone, while Liquid had the good genes. Liquid was deceived.

Are you all a bunch of drunks or something?
deganawida replied to thepixiesrock's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yes, absolutely. The reason why I choose not to drink is because I haven't grown out of my geek phase or I'm a religous nut. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Theres the two other reasons too: A. Youre a very boring person B. You either are an ex-alcoholic... or your dad/mum/whatever used to be one and youre afraid youll go the same way <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or... A. He could be Straight-Edge B. He could avoid it for health reasons C. He could not like the detrimental effects on his judgment D. He could be pointing out the flaws in a broad generalization -

'Cause you know when he drinks alone, he prefers to be by himself. -
Hmm, I'll have to give that a shot after work. I did check my IDE settings and saw that they were all set to DMA, but that article states that there are display problems with that which might be the problem. Thank you, Diamond. Anyone else who wishes to suggest a solution, please, let me know. I appreciate all the help I can get.

In a word, no. -
I'd guess he was suffering from one of those typical snake related toxins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's the "weak" clone, so I imagine that his cellular structure is rapidly degenerating, giving the appearance of aging (a kind of progeria, if you will). My guess is that it is fairly recent, given the differences we see in him within this trailer, much less between this one and the previous one.
-
Look at the side of his face. It looks as though he has gotten even older in the progress of the game, or that his skin is rapidly deteriorating; it looks like something you'd see on someone in their 90s.

Meta, since no one has responded, if you don't mind, please post the registry key when you can. Nothing that I have done has worked, and I'd like to try it, to determine if the problem is hardware related. If it is, I will be thoroughly ticked off.

Hello. I reloaded my PC a couple of weeks ago, and have since noticed that my DVD-R/RW is not playing DVDs back at the proper speed. Playback is choppy and slow, and also will only show up in WinDVD (I also have RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, DivX, and InterActual Player). I first noticed it Saturday when installing City of Heroes, when I noticed that audio playback during installation was choppy. Last night, I went to play "Batman Begins" on my PC, only to find that none of the players save WinDVD would show any video, and that all players played sound choppily, and noticeably slower (the Willie Wonka song from the ad at the beginning of the DVD was the giveaway). System: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 1 GB DDR RAM 140 GB HDD DVD-R/RW with Lightscribe NVidia GeForce 6600 LE I've checked for Starforce, and saw nothing under Non-Plug and Play Devices registered to it. Also, as I said before, DVDs played just fine before I reimaged my PC. Currently, CD audio, as well as all audio files stored on the PC, play without error. Any advice that you can give would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: Correction: I just tried an audio CD, and had playback difficulties. FYI, this PC is only 5 months old, so it should not be worn out.

Expected first NWN2 campaign game time
deganawida replied to Atreides's topic in Computer and Console
Not only that, but tv is blamed for causing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I blame Sesame Street. Seriously. The skits there range from 30 sec. to 2 min. That's far too short. Children don't need constantly-shifting programming; they are quite content (and actually learn more) watching a long, continuous program repeatedly (the repitition helps them learn it). -
hmm interesting question u pose. the world doesn't love anybody. but it paticulary dislikes america <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because the US broke up with that bitch. The world was all crying and stuff and the US was all like: "There are other planets in the universe baby and I'm not ready to be tamed". Damn the world and her constant pressure about marriage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You forgot to mention that she wouldn't put up.

Please tell me that's not deliberate... -
The Secretary, with my wife. Very nice film.

Expected first NWN2 campaign game time
deganawida replied to Atreides's topic in Computer and Console
While this is interesting, given the conflicting numbers that various outlets have been reporting, as well as Josh's statement that the game isn't at a state where one can accurately estimate the playtime of NWN2, I feel that this is perhaps a tad bit premature, and as such I cannot hazard an educated guess as to how long it will take me to complete the single-player campaign. -
It's only happened once that I recall in the last 5 years.
-
Not really. Kojima himself has admitted that it was a mistake.

My wife and I have been playing the 14-day trial of CoV. I have noticed that, at least in the time that we've played, the CoX games seem to be fun, which is something that I definitely found lacking in WoW.
-
If it isn't fun, don't play. If your friends insist that you play even though you don't want to, you might need to reconsider the nature of the relationship. It can be rough, but the primary reason one should play a game is for entertainment; obligation should not even be a factor.

But they didn't know where the original CSI took place. They are morons. Am I right fellas? I mean, am I right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um...Hollywood?

If USA & Canada gave the land back to the Indians-
deganawida replied to Eddo36's topic in Way Off-Topic
Heh, believe me, I know how you feel. Protesting to have the names of sports teams changed rather than working to actually raise the quality of living of Indians (without violating cultural and religious beliefs) is what made me quit having anything to do with AIM. I also know about sanctimonious relatives; I get into it quite a bit with some of mine over my beliefs (and have been called an apple a few times LOL). -

deganawida replied to Eddo36's topic in Way Off-Topic
we have always been Oglala, but bout a decade ago our cousins told us that we were being offensive if we used the Native American term. Indians were more appropriate. Well, mostly we use "American Indian" as we were used to "Indian" before the PC revolution. I prefer it on a philosophical level as it's a way to thumb my nose at all the PC people at there. Finally, it suggests that people who have bled for, tended, were born, lived, and died here weren't American. That just bothers me on general principle. Yeah, and doesn't Pine Ridge have a 77% unemployment rate? Don't know if that was yours, but I know it's one of the poorest places in the world. BTW, how'd you like the Bellacourts' response to that Oklahoma Congressman who drafted an apology with some additional compensation? They refused it, because he didn't bring up two (I believe; it's been a while since I read it) minor points. It was a war to wipe out a whole continent's worth of various nations. I fail to see how anyone could call it anything but genocide. -
No, just experimentor expectations. The interviewers and reporters expect to find ignorance regarding world geography (as that is their beliefs), and so they look for situations where the circumstances are less than conducive to book-learnin'. They ignore or degrade results contrary to their expections, and instead focus and report on the results that support their hypothesis. Happens quite often; remember, good news doesn't sell or make headlines.

Yeah, that's all we spend our time doing you know .. think of ways to rob you.. huh? so a few European companies screwed you, how does that make Europeans in general responsible?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It doesn't, but it does provide another example of a pattern found throughout the history of Western Civilization that European governments and companies tend to view non-Europeans as people to be exploited and cheated.
