  1. Okay, I now know that I've played that game too many times. I just heard Deineira's voice with the echoing effect when I read that. Good luck, TNO. I'm not too far into it (okay, I'm barely into it), but I'm enjoying it.
  2. Okay, question: I hated FFX with a passion; is this game similar enough to X that I will hate it too, or is it closer in spirit to VII, VIII, IX, and FFT/Vagrant Story?
  3. Love the kickin' checkered pants. Is it just me, or did the environment in that screenie look a lot like Pelagus in Morrowind?
  4. Got further last night. My wife sat with me last night, watching me play and we both had a blast. I am definitely looking forward to making some real progress this weekend, as I am loving this game. BTW, D&D Hardcore rules all the way.
  5. Aaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhh!!!!!! Spoilers!!!!!! How dare you!!!!
  6. Okay, here we go. Started up enough to make these (and create a Photobucket account). Pre-Ravel TNO. Post-Ravel TNO (minus grey skin and scars). They aren't perfect, but the resemblance to mind of the opening movie is uncanny.
  7. At work right now Won't get to play until 8:30 EST (5 hours from now), 'cause I don't game while my daughters are up.
  8. (w00t) ...when I finally gits the LE I's has on order, ya gotta show me the combo!!!...I's'll luv ya fere'er... ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IIRC, it's the first head with the dreadlocks shaded black (for post-Ravel look) or straw-hair shaded brown (for pre-Ravel look). It could be the barbaric face without the tats, though.
  9. By the way, am I the only one who noticed that there is a certain face and hair combination that can be used to create a PC who looks just like The Nameless One? I loved that little cookie thrown to the fans.
  10. Seriously, I didn't get very far at all, just far enough to meet my tutorial companions. What I've experienced thus far is very immersive, and if the game continues this trend (quite a bet, I know, given how little I've actually play), then I will be one satisfied customer.
  11. That's right. Good catch, Arkan.
  12. And point out an RPG based on Faerun/D&D/Tolkien format that uses NPC's with a southern twang accent.. I want a more immersive gaming experience. I find it hard to "immerse" when nearly everyone in the campaign talks like my neighbor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Honestly, I find this complaint bizarre. BG1&2, IWD1&2, NWN1, Demonstone, and other FR games that I have played have not had characters speaking exclusively Shakespearean English. On the contrary, they've had a wide variety of accents, from true English (David Warner as Irenicus), to Russian (Jahiera), to New York (Jan Jansen), to Midwestern, and so forth. Why is it only now that not having voice actors speak with a faux or true English accent a necessity?
  13. Posting my question in this thread, 'cause it may not belong in the other. Question: Is the tooltip display for Favored Enemy incorrect, or did y'all not change FE to match 3.5? The display says that it grants +1 to damage, Spot, Listen, and Taunt, with an addition +1 every five levels (plus an additional FE). However, 3.5E has Favored Enemy bonus at +2 at level 1, and an additional +2 (assigned wherever one wishes) at level 5 and every 5 levels thereafter.

Didn't get in much playing last night (in fact, still haven't finished creating my character), but it looks to be more immersive than the first.
  15. Multiclassing can be fun. It's especially important in d20 Modern, but the only way to get a full BAB is to be straight Tough Hero. As far as D&D multiclassing goes, I like Ranger/Barbarian (for a throwback to the 1E Ranger) and Ranger/Rogue (for my Urban Ranger). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you know what e gestalt is, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts".

  17. Ok, so looking at page 38 of the manual, it states that the requirements for a Divine Champion are: HPpL: 10 BaB: 7 Feats: Weapon Focus That sounds pretty easy to have from the very beginning. Can I be a Divine Champion right at character creation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. You need a Base Attack Bonus (BAB) of +7 or higher. For Fighters, Barbarians, Paladins, and Rangers, that won't occur until level 7. Rogues, Monks, and Bards won't be able to qualify until level 10.
  18. till then think about what kind of character yu create, a cleric, bard, or a mage can be quite entertaining <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I'm pretty predictable in that regard My first PC will be a Ranger with Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Bastard Sword, Power Attack, and Favored Power Attack. I'll have him use the bastard sword with two hands, and try to up my damage enough so that I can force the Death by Massive Damage rule on some enemies :D
  19. Just got word through my wife that my copy has arrived. Won't be able to pick it up until 5:30, so my afternoon is really going to drag by.
  20. Report on the game and the pizza! Won't get either until after work (that's assuming my EB has my copy in).
  21. all the races have lots of ugly looks, the only playable race what isn't fully f**ked up is the Half-Orc <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jorian, I understand that you are not happy with the looks of the races of NWN2, as I think are most of the other people reading this thread. Not to be belligerent, but can we please move past this and get to more substantial discussions, like how the game plays, what the writing is like, if the game is actually fun, etc.?
  22. So...has anyone other than Lly played the game yet? If so, how does it play?
  23. Thanks. They did a bang-up good job of capturing the D&D artistic sensibilities.
