Well ran into a game-stopping bug last night, after cleaning up my saves. Due to me cleaning up saves and preparing for a new build for my character, I was left with no recourse for that save. Bummer Still, this is the first bug that I believe I've encountered.

That was my argument. I would much rather have a good, short-to-medium length game than a tedious medium-to-long length game. Granted, I would absolutely prefer a massively long game with superb writing, gameplay, and graphics, but I am able to live contently with a game of short to medium length that is good and fun.

Same, and if I'm not mistaken, I got it before you (which makes my progression speed kind of sad). I imagine I'll be playing this through Christmas, at least.

Annoyed? The vast majority of his posts have been borderline-vitriolic, especially when Soulthief and Riftworm are around.

Speaking for myself, my argument was that game length is not as important when the game is high quality. I repeatedly cited Metal Gear Solid, which I found to be an excellent game, but which has a short length.

Okay, I restarted last Thursday, played Friday night until late, most of Saturday until late, and most of Sunday until late. Played 3 hours Monday night and half an hour last night. I *just* got into Blacklake. I estimate that I've put in 30 hours into Act One alone.

Or know that C3PO is actually quite articulate, whereas R2-D2 can't communicate in anything other than beeps or squeals.

It's been running fine for me. I had one CTD after playing for 6 hours straight (long night Sat. night). Haven't really noticed bugs, mostly because I'm enjoying myself too much.

Seriously? I did not know that. Drat. Of course, it does make a certain amount of sense, in that the distances traveled are often significant, so some rest would need to be taken.

I've done the same thing for over a week now, though I actually get past the Festival now. I'm really bad about restarting My wife likes to joke that gameplay hour estimates should be increased by at least 50% because of all the times that I'll restart.

I guess that I must be an oddity, in that I hardly ever rest in these games. In the IE games I'd only rest if my characters were fatigued or completely out of spells/special abilities (well, in BG2, I'd rest to trigger events on later play-throughs, but that's it). In NWN2, I only rest if everyone is out of spells and it's been several hours.

I knew he reminded me of someone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> EDIT: (it was kind of spoilerish) Bevil's not so bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He is a good sword arm. The only good use I can think of. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He can make soup! And, and, and carry wood!

For the love of heaven, what is wrong with you people?

Restarting (yet again). Found a training program last night, and learned that Favored Power Attack isn't universal but FE specific Going to take my bastard sword-wielding ranger the Great Cleave/Focus/Crit route, and just avoid the FE feats.

*Didn't know that either* :"> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's okay I didn't see you complaining about it, so it didn't bother me.

From what I've gathered the complaints are about the zooming in when you get near a building or something. Never really had a problem with it myself. Some people seem to complain about having to use the arrow keys to move the camera and that makes a really awkward situation for right handed mouse users, although they all seem to overlook the fact that you can remap the camera controls. I think if they altered it so that buildings would fade out like the trees do then that would instantly solve about 50% of the camera complaints. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why use the arrow keys or edge scrolling at all? Middle mouse button works as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because I never remember about the middle mouse button? :"> I was paused so often anyway that it never bothered me to take an addition second or two to rotate the camera. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, wasn't clear in my post. Wasn't referring to you, but to the complainers. It's like people who are complaining that you have to drag and drop to equip anything, when double-clicking works just as well.

I played from 8:30 Saturday night until 3:30 Sunday morning, so, yeah, definitely losing sleep. Haven't done that since KotOR2, either.

I dont have any problems with unresponsive buttons anywhere in the game except for the PA one. There are some buttons at the bottom right hand of the screen that allow you to turn on modes like stealth, detect and power attack. The only ones that I have used so far are detect and PA. Detect works perfectly fine without any problems. I click on it and the character starts searching right away until I turn it off. But power attack is a complete mess. Sometimes I need to click the button up to 10 times in order to enter the power attack mode. Very often the game is unpaused and I am clicking on the button with no response from the game. And power attack keeps turning off randomly. Sometimes it lasts just a few seconds before I need to try to turn it on again. The characters really do run too quickly during combat. Its a lot faster than the speed of NWN1. Sometimes they just zip accross the screen to an enemy before I can even hit the pause button. I also have a low end system and I had some bad performance issues, the game was almost unplayable even in the lowest settings until I turned off VSYNC in my graphics card options as was recommended on these boards. Now I can run the game with all the texture settings such as the quality and the filtering at their best, with the best character shadows and also with bloom, normal mapping, lights from party members and the water special effects. I tend to have a minor lag in large areas with lots of characters and also in dungeons. I cant turn on environmental shadows, and Ive also got all the shadow maps etc at the smallest size(it didnt seem to affect the way the game looked at all, and neither did VSYNC). I think NWN2 looks very impressive. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you have Combat Modes enabled? It may be that the AI is overriding your decisions. Just a thought.

If its true then the WM in NWN2 has to be updated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Weapon Master wasn't updated to 3.5E by WotC. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So if i understand this right, there is only one version at all and there is no 3.5 WM <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Correct. I imagine some of this is due to mechanics changes. Ki Critical, for example, should not stack with Improved Critical (just as Improved Critical does not stack with the Keen weapon property). That makes the Weapon Master's ultimate ability useless. Additionally, WotC stated that not all classes were going to be revised, as some were close enough to 3.5 to not make a difference. Keep in mind, I'm speaking from a PnP perspective. They may (and probably do) stack in NWN2, but in PnP it shouldn't.

Have finally gotten out of the tutorial, so I feel that I can give a real impression now. I feel that I am actually playing a pnp game, sitting around the table with my friends while my best friend DMs one of his massively intricate storylines. This is the game that I've been waiting for for the last 5 years. Thank you, Josh, Feargus, Joseph, MCA, and everyone else at Obsidian for this game.

Volourn's Early Final Fantasy 12 Impressions
deganawida replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
I loved FFT, though the Gnostic bits were a bit annoying to me. Ramza was cool, but I always wished I could play as Delita.
