  1. Well, there's another topic to inappropriate for the younger Kotor fans... Wonder how long the devs'll go clueless this time... Any bets?
  2. Well, another optimist is here... Granted, a very very very zealous optimist...
  3. Well, good to know you've got a system.
  4. I'd say it was. What was your problem? People keep complaining about it, but I had a great time w/ it... I've had a look at the AI engine they're supposedly using. It is basically like a list of goals, from what I managed to gather. It's the NPC's 'to-do' list, and determines what he does, when he does it, etc. They're supposedly able to pickpocket and/or attack somebody they hate (ie a Dark Elf and a Nord, etc.). This could make it very amusing just to walk around... I'm not getting my hopes up, though. I've got a HUGE list of games I'm going to play in the next year or so... With hopefully a big, juicy Kotor III at the end of 2006.
  5. Is PS:T worth getting? I'll probably get it in a couple of months (I wanna finish my NWN module, then I'll get the expansions for it, then I'll get Icewind Dale, then I'll check out BG I and II, but then I'll be free for the 'best RPG ever' in may peoples opinions.)
  6. One huge problem: The Rakata aren't FS any more. And, even if they were, the only things they have experience building are DS artifacts. As DS Revan, he/she probably wiped them out. As LS Revan, the Rakata were probably slowly let back into the Republic, but sworn to keep the secrets of their ancient empire just those: secrets. The reasoning is self-explanatory, but if you don't get it, I'll try to explain later. I'm fine w/ Influence, but I don't want it to be necessary to hear the whole story. That's the only flaw I can think of with it.
  7. Priceless. ----- Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.' ----- They DO co-ordinate attacks and they always, alway, always come straight AT you! I loathe those little monsters. And the PACE of those horrors is astounding! What are they - God's punishement for mankind? No mater how times I smack them or stamp them (on carpeted floors), they NEVER, EVER die! And what's more is they *FLY*! Oh, why oh why Lord, do they fly! :'( It's as if their filthy grotesqueness wasn't punishment enough, that they needed this extra ability merely to taunt you! But the Flight of the Beast is silent - oh yes, very silent. Always watching you they are... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That commentary was classic. C-ockroaches can survive just about anything, from radiation, to raid, to the sole of your foot. Plus, they're friggin fast! Now, picture the huge 2-5 inch THINGS they have in Brazil... Can you imagine waking up every morning to those things??? Holy cow, that's like a horror movie!
  8. Oh, that happens all the time to me... I've just starting talking to animals as though they can understand me, because it is a proven fact that most animals can get the basic gist of what you're saying by the tone you say it in. However, the longer they've been around humans, the more they'll understand it... No, I don't live in a basement! Stop laughing at me! I'm not paranoid!
  9. Oblivion's supposed to revolutionize AI, which I am very much looking forward to..
  10. For a second there... Maybe I just misread...
  11. *coughcough*Cheng I Sao*coughhackwheeze* At the height of her power, Cheng I Sao commanded a pirate fleet that surpassed the navies of many countries. In addition to more than 200 oceangoing junks armed with 20-30 cannon and manned by up to 400 pirates each, she controlled 600-800 coastal vessels (12-25 cannon, 200 men) and dozens of river junks (20-30 men). She set up a network of spies who watched the harbors and reported potential targets. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait a minute... Are you saying that you agree that Revan could be a woman? Hang on, lemme read the last few posts...
  12. *Cough, cough* Joan of Ark? *Cough, cough* Granted, she was burned at the stake, but that probably won't happen to Revan anytime soon. Revan's a male to me, because I'm a male. But I'm tired of the 'lesser' picking on the female gamers...
  13. Does nobody pay attention to me? What of Joan of Ark??? *Turns up the music in my head*
  14. What about Joan of Ark? She was a girl, I had thought... Then again, history can be corrupted, though... Revan is Male in my mind's eye, but I feel NO need to inflict my will over those that probably know more than me, anyway (yeah, right ). It should be a variable, people! I'm doing a bit of scripting and such, and changing a few words every so often is not that hard!
  15. Am I missing something here? lol
  16. In Kotor I, Tatooine was newly 'rediscovered', which shows that the outer regions are very expansive. Think about it... I know the whole Hyperspace isn't very logical, but this should be: It's a Galaxy! Millions of worlds! Not to mention that real space isn't exactly 2D... There's a TON of places to explore, and if you go in without knowing where you may end up, things could get VERY nasty.
  17. I've had my try at answering the main topic... Just get a healthy background in as much graphic programs that you can...
  18. Now, there's a common baseless supposition given without any support in fact. Have you met everyone who's played KOTOR and seen all their respective parts for proof? Of course not. You're assuming, as far too many people love to do. People think the market is male, particularly because women who've been burned by the tirades of immature idiots often go genderless on forums. That doesn't mean it is male, either entirely or even just predominantly. All most of us want is to hang out with people who love the games we do, and instead, we get crap for having breasts--either insults or crude comments which are all too often not meant in fun. And if not that, we get treated like second-class citizens. So when you find a community that's mostly mature and level-headed, that understands the whole point of an RPG, even then you may be hesitant to speak your gender--or, if you're like me, you may not even realize people have mistaken you for a male. (I've had people call me Wayne. *shudder* What is up with that?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even though I'm a male, I feel I have to agree w/ you, *Wynne*. One of my better friends is always complaining about the same thing (minus the actual discussion of the body parts). She gets annoyed, but I've pretty much given up caring about (and making excuses for) the 'lesser' of my gender... No offence to anybody here, unless you classify yourself under that title...
  19. Oh, that's not too horrible...
  20. That's why I had to go check out that book... to find Raistlan. He is a perfect doomed character. I just couldn't remember his name. It's been 2 or 3 years or so since I've read that trilogy... Didn't they have another 'tragic' sister? I seem to remember her commenting on how she always knew Raistlan wouldn't stay in the Red Robes for long...
  21. Exile was decent, but I have many more ties to Revan... I don't care if he's not my character anymore, I just think he's cool...
  22. NWN nights graphics weren't stupendous, if you think about it... I've played Dark Alliance... Is that what the actual BG graphics are like? If BG graphics are comparable to NWN, then there's not much really that can be fixed. And complaining ain't going to fix anything... I did some 'research' on PS:T, and it looks AWESOME!
  23. In Kotor I went through as everything, but in D&D games I'm going to set up as a 'true hearted' sorcerer, or, like my Morrowind character, a 'noble' Sorcerer, with a 'code of honor'. The type that wants power, and will kill to get it, but won't do so if innocents get hurt in the process. They still hunger for magic, but they'll make sure that some innocent housewife doesn't get killed along the way. It is a very contrasting character type, not that I think about it...
  24. Caramon Majere? THE Caramon Majere? Man, that guy was AWESOME! I still prefer mages, like that one other Majere... Man, I gotta go check out some books...
  25. Kotor is great. It'll be the only reason why I stick w/ LA, except for some of their RTS's, but that's a different story. I thought Morrowind: GOTY was great. I know it stumped people, but I loved it. There's a lot of crap to do, and it falls into a mythology-like setting (which I'm a sucker for). I found very little to complain about... I'm into D&D and Forgotten Realms games, at the moment... Nothing yet has paralled w/ the Dragonlance Novels, though... BTW: Has anybody here played Fire Emblem English version? That game was probably the best Turn Based game I've yet to play (except for online games you can find if you do a search).
