  1. Hey guys. I noticed that in my last run sometimes I would be engaging an enemy and he would break off to fight my wizard or priest and my character would start chasing him but get ZERO disengagement attacks. Has this happened to anyone? My character did at times get disengagement attacks but he doesn't always. This was during 2.2 and before. Have not done a play through on 2.3 yet.
  2. Hmmmm Zealous Charge is still my favorite aura cause of the flexibility it gives in Trial of Iron/PoTD runs but its not as fun without rhyme
  3. The hit to graze portion is working. The damage is not. I had reported it.
  4. Weapon and Shield Style. Brings your Reflex pretty much even with Fort and Will. Or if you want to be more offensive focused early in the game go with a weapon focus as accuracy in the early game is tough to come by (if playing PoTD)
  5. never thought about it that way but makes sense lol
  6. Dragons are rare. They can change sexes I think Incase they run into another Dragon of the same sex they aren't SOL and cant continue their line. One can sex change.
  7. My point was that I don't even know what the scrolls do, or if they are even worth using or not. I have no idea. Not everything built into a game is balanced or useful. It is very common - especially in a complex game like this - that certain things are valued higher than others. In my Dark Crystal example, let's say some skills give you 10 DC's or 50 DC's and that fiagamagig gives 1000. But what if everything you could make with the DC's are totally irrelevant to the game? Yes, you are making the "maximum crystals" - that is a fact about those choices - but that doesn't mean you're winning at the game or that it was a good decision to get them. There was no judgement. Another example: You have a potion that can restore all of your health. It's the best potion in the game. Other potions in our hypothetical game only restore 10% or 25% tops. But in this game, you can increase your defence so high that you never take damage - making all of the potions worthless. You see, everything is related. And to someone who doesn't know what the consequences are to those relationships, it is very difficult to know just how good or bad something is by maxing it - especially with such limited skill points. I do understand the points about lore and what-not. And I thank you for that. But my point was that without an actual judgement call and just stating something that the game gives you, it pretty much means nothing to a new player who does not know what the consequences of these decisions actually are within the game. "Picking the white faeries gives you the most glitter." But what does that mean? Is glitter useful? So it's important to get the most glitter? What if it wasn't useful, but you spent a lot of resources getting it anyway at the cost of other useful things, like sparkles? This is what I mean. You will not regret having a Scroll of Paralysis and Scroll of Confusion. Those are the 2 most clutch holy crap this is going bad scrolls in the game as they both massively CC the enemy. Especially when you are out numbered. They require a Lore of 6. You can leave lore at 4 if you want as their are items (I will not spoil it) that can give you a +2 lore. Anything higher then that is useful BUT not like those other 2 scrolls imo. There are a few dialogue checks that require an 8 Lore and I can think of one that requires a 9. So unless you care about those options or want to RP a history person (Iike me! lol I love history) then you are good at 4 or 6 depending on gear.
  8. Hey! I have just started a Triple Crown Play through and have a similar stat build. I now ALWAYS get Lay on Hands (Aura at level 3) and Flames of Devotion at level 5. After 2.0 having some offensive presence is worth it as there are certain enemies like Spirits AND regular kith enemies who will go around your party and hit your soft back line. Its a bad feeling in this situation when you have no way to at least throw some burst damage with high accuracy at an enemy and be able to contribute to that offenders elimination. You are also not taking any extra PER (I don't either as its really hard to fit it in as a Paladin) and the class itself has average accuracy at best. Considering you will be wearing Heavy Armor as a frontliner missing can REALLY suck as you will swing slowly (no room to bump Dex either I know). you have a high enough might where you can get a 3 Might bonus from an item and have 17 Might around the middle of the game. That is really good. I am trying this new thing out with Paladins specifically and getting a HARD hitting one hander as my second weapon with no shield. It really helps with your average accuracy against high Deflection foes that will ignore you like Spirits as you got a +12 to accuracy with just a one hander. Grab Vulnerable attack and you are cutting through 5 DR with a good amount of might and fire Damage from FoD and its more then enough of an offensive presence. Against normal enemies who don't teleport and have average Deflection you can just keep your shield on and do your job by getting in the way and letting the real hard hitters wipe them out. As far as skills go I just go to 6 lore and athletic. The paralysis scroll is all I really need to get myself out of a bad spot. I always play trial of iron/PoTD so my builds are bit quirky as I will take some abilities and scrolls to ensure that I can get out a tight spot scroll of Paralysis is what you need for that. I also take Zealous Charge instead of focus/DR..it helps me and my party reposition or run away should things go really bad. That being said I run double Paladin usually so other pics up focus and I live without the extra DR and hit to graze. PS Listen to Nobear he is smarter than me this is just my 2 cents.
  9. Dude stop crying its Trial of Iron for a reason. Cheese exploits like running away and then coming back would make Trial of Iron really easy. Its already too easy because they let you play on any difficulty. Proof that I have done PoTD and Trial of Iron the achievements have the same date and time so I did it on PoTD: https://www.dropbox.com/home/Screenshots?preview=Screenshot+2015-10-05+02.15.29.png
  10. Except Darcozzi Inspiring Liberation+10 accuracy and if you want +20 cause they stack Is always awesome especially on PoTD.
  11. Anyone can have a high mechanics. Rogues are not an end game necessity. I just completed a PoTD Trial of Iron run without one. That being said they are amazing damage dealers and a compliment to any team. Also like he said Chanters are the bard equivalent. They can cast Paralyze and summon "spells" also some damage dealing ones. I know they are called invocations but they are still types of spells.
  12. And.... that's one reason I'm probably not going to mess with gog for anything "new" in games. True, I'm not all that happy with steam (I REALLY REALLY HATE game frontend crap, just give me the damn game! - hate the blizz launcher, got rid of trion's glyph won't play rift if trion forces glyph eventually....) but at least it works - for me. I know there are those for whom steam doesn't work very well at all. I'm not one of them, and as long as it works, it works for me. Ya same here.
  13. > Still believing in the wage gap myth in 2015 How many people in the most filthy, unhealthy, uncomfortable and dangerous jobs (coal miner, garbage collector, roofer etc.) do you see are men and how many are women? Spoiler: The split is about 99% - 1%. Could it be that that is irrelevant, when the position you're trying to prove is the existence of a gender wage gap (rather than a different-life-choices wage gap)? Yes society has traditions, but people are free to choose a traditional life or a more 'modern' one. Many women choose (and thrive at) a modern career lifestyle, proving that there is nothing preventing it. Just because many other women choose a traditional family arrangement instead, does not make you a victim of discrimination, nor does the statistically lower income earned by those who prioritise family over career, mean that women per se "get paid less", so stop perpetuating that myth. You forgot Infantryman. Dirty career choice my friend but I had fun Actually doing what your party does (combat ,I know we cant fight dragons...unfortunately) isn't that fun...Its really tiring teheeeeeeee.
  14. Ever try to clear Caed Nua's quest at party level 2, Kana at level 3 on POTD? I am actually going to try it today. I have done Caed Nua multiple times on PoTD but I always did Gilded Vale first. I have a feeling this will severely threaten my Trial of Iron run early. I like it. Everyone is level 3 at this point. I usually do it around 5.
  15. Hey just started a Triple Crown play through after finishing PoTD/Trial of Iron and noticed that Aloth no longer comments about you being a Watcher after talking to Caldera. Dropbox save: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rk2l4sntu4bus4c/b7a64a2ce5f6468a923b221c7c8a0366%207788930%20GildedVale.savegame?dl=0
  16. Correct the guy on the second floor with the exclusive gear. It's the same item called Bradfords something
  17. It's random I think. But I've had it in every play through. I am sure one vendor has it
  18. I took scion of flame as it improves sacred immolation. It also significantly improved FoD. I could just see that the numbers where significantly higher on the fire portion of FoD when I took the talent.
  19. Maybe it was Yedwens proc bug where it destroys vessel on all enemies and does not proc the fire lash part of FoD...the destroy proc obviously does nothing against non vessels....the Paladin loses out on a lot of damage with Souldbound weapons at the moment...unless they are fighting vessels with Ydwen. The paralyze proc does the same thing on The Sleeper.
  20. So why is FoD's Lash damage not hitting fire immune targets? Maybe its treated differently? I know on my last play through the master below was immune to fire portion of my FoD. So where Flame Blights.
  21. Did you kill the Sky Dragon in that play through? I had already read of people purchasing the eyes from the Curio Shop, but it has never happened to me—and I kill the dragon every time. My theory is that you can buy the eyes from the Curio Shop if you don't kill the Sky Dragon, to compensate for your choosing the peaceful solution (otherwise, people going peaceful would be locked out of upgrading their weapons to Superb, which would be tantamount to punishing them for choosing not fight.) Of course, as I'm unable to say no to a good dragon fight, I could never put my theory to the test Me either man. I am unable to ever spare the Sky or Adra Dragon (actually once the Adra Dragon didn't spare me...My Goldpact Knights soul was returned to the wheel my friend I love Trial of Iron its like the only way to play for me! PoTD too).
  22. I will tell you this. Flames of Devotion is a 50% Lash and FIRE IMMUNE mobs ARE NOT affected by the fire portion of the FoD because they are fire immune. I am almost positive that lashes are affected by DR.
  23. I am not trying to be insensitive. What I am trying to say is its time we stop treating trans genders and homo sexuals like they are special because they are "different". No, they are people who have different sexual preferences and that's it. We should be able to make fun of them like we make fun of hetero sexual people etc.
