Well I guess he will definitely annihilate the Xaurips ASAP and the Mind controllers that the Adra Dragon has. Also the Alpine Dragon fight is hard because he has a CRAP ton of adds. I see value in chewing up those adds ASAP as they are what makes the fight less straight forward...or you can you just Charm adds and the dragon with a Wizard...hahah. After the adds are dead he can still debuff I guess. Although now I am not sure if Dragons are immune to Sicken lol.

The only thing I don't like about 2handed Barb is that he has to be in lighter armor OR invest heavily in Dex. You can put him in plate go DW and he will still be fast. I guess you cant have everything. Didn't you see Duel Wield Sabers was the best DPS barb? or were you just talking AOE damage on the post? What does a barb do when you are fighting say just a Dragon? Once the adds are dead? Is he just an above average damage dealer?

So I have never had a lot of success with Barbarians. I know there is a thread here discussing them and I tried following it but on my last successful ToI/PoTD I ended up shelving the guy and restricting him to guarding Caed Nua lol. In this last run I didn't know spirits were immune to KO and we all died at Caed Nua. I had made a Fire Godlike Barb she was level 3 with Frenzy and Blooded...I figured I would play that wreckless type with Blooded, carnage, eventually savage Defiance, the fire godlike racial with retaliation but it never get that far. Needless to say blooded at low levels while perma stunned by phantoms is terrible. My first guy just didn't seem to have any oomph like melee rogues do...I know its supposed to be AOE damage what th Barb does but sometimes I just want one thing dead FAST....can they not do that? They seem to lack active single hard hitting hits...hell even a Paladin seems to be able to burst better with Flames of Devotion....I guess you could take Barbaric Blow? Is it any good? I will try again today and restart my TC play through (I know ghosts are immune to KD now!). I want to try and Duel Wielder with Ruffian Barb (Sabres and clubs) meaning I can put her in plate and she can still swing fast....I was thinking stats like , 16 Might, 17 Per and 15 Int and leaving the rest at 10 (I don't really dump stats). Can any barb pros help me? I think I am going to abandon "wreckless" fire godlike blooded type spec...I will run a priest so Brute Force/Threat Presence build can work.

So I just got SMASHED in Caed Nua at level 3 on my first TC try. I have not played since 2.02. Are Phantoms and Shades immune to Knock Down? My usual Durance (trap) Eder High ACC Knock down was useless. I am assuming they are I just forgot to read the combat log and died. It actually makes sense they float lol I have always thought that. I assume they are immune to frightened/terrorized as well it would make sense. So harsh now! I love it!

Dammit. Its crazy that I have to stick to Tidefall or another Great Sword/Estoc on a Paladin as the new unique weapons are a TOTAL dps loss. I am huge supporter of Obsidian and PoE as its my second favorite game of ALL TIME (after KOTOR 1) but that's inexcusable. You introduce these epic weapons with cool stories and art and its a DPS loss for a class...common man.

You actually did that? You're a horrible, horrible person. I did it once on my Goldpact Knight. For Paladins that's only one of 2 orders you wont get a negative on your faith and conviction for..the other being Bleak Walkers. He was mercenary and considered those souls expendable if it helped him become more powerful and stop Thaos which was the bigger picture. Also they hadn't paid him anything so no Bond was made nothing personal.

Ya its Wraiths. If they snatch one of my tanks its actually a good thing. The last time I was in the Battery I was about level 12 and they obducted me once and Pallegina the next time (both tanking/support Paladins) and worked out very well as most of the mobs in the rear tried to crush me/Pallegina and well they couldn't touch us and my tank personally downed 2 of them before the entire team on the other side got to me. If they abduct a squishy with no escape its an auto KO most of the time. They did abduct Zahua once but man did they pay for it. He literally smoked like 6 ore more (I always play PoTD) before he got knocked out. Once I got close enough I gave him a Reviving Exhortation and the pain continued. He never got abducted again. Pain retains! I guess It depends on party make up. Ever since 2.0 I play a very heavy Melee party that doesn't really have a squishy other then the priest and wizard/Cipher/Druid. Usually I have a heavy front line of 2x Paladin, Monk, Fighter/Rogue (I have this new thing where I spec them pretty defensively and they have very good survival with damn good damage output).

Was this ever fixed? I had a thread up a while ago. When the Grey Sleeper or St. Yedwen proc their abilities it will suppress the Fire portion of Flames of Devotion. For Grey Sleeper its a total DPS loss for that FoD and if the bad guy isn't a vessel and St. Yedwin procs (therefor doing nothing) it is definitely a dps loss as the fire portion of FoD does not go off.

This is my point of view, even on PoTD @Torm51 I perfectly know that dex is kinda of useless for a paladin, but still it help balance your save rolls overall AND after max might/int/res there is no stat that you actually need in a group party. Con is still the stat that need most rework in the game IMO, it's kind of useless to go any over the avarage roll even for a tank. In a group party, on PoTD, with a good min/max party you will squish in so MUCH freaking damage if you know what you are doing after the per buff that fights will last too shortly to gain anything from CON, and at that point any extra bit DPS or better saves are gonna help you much more. Maybe it's just my playstile, since I now know PoE so much that I don't mind running around with a semi glass cannon party (melee 10 con ranged 3 con). With the spread of MAX Might/con/res ( must have) 10 con and the rest into dex/per you achieve MAX utility and damage (even if you are an utility tank) and better saves split overall. And you will do at least some damage if things go terribly wrong. In fact in a couple of occasions I had my pally and my fighter (10 con, weapon shield tank with stack of retaliation items later on) finished a couple of hard fights while I was rushing into ched nua dungeon on PoE with a low level party. Anything can happens, and if you can switch role or at least help into something different, even a bit of auto attack, that can be a game changer. Or maybe it's just me that I still hate CON so much and I still honestly believe is a game fail design and the the worst attribute in the game Cool but a dumped PER? So with a class that has a very average ACC you are going to dump it to 4??

Stuck at loading v2.03.0788
Torm51 replied to n.t.t.'s question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Have you tried Verifying your game cache on steam? This was suggested to me by a dev in my similar thread. I have done it and SO FAR have not had an issue. -

I googled the issue and verified my game cache after I posted this issue. You responded to someone else with this issue. and so far it has worked. I will keep you updated and repost the dxdiag. I seem to be getting a good bit of stutter. I did not before 2.03. -

Pretty sure those enemies are not the Dweller. Have you picked up the dweller quest yet. -

Also here is my DXdiag. It says high Realtek High Def Audio drivers are from 2012....I went online to update them but there website says something about motherboard sound drivers and too download it from their site instead? I am not understanding. https://www.dropbox.com/s/tbkflvuqgotm1pa/DxDiag%20sound.lnk?dl=0 -
I was entering The Black Hound and hung up on the loading screen. This is a first after 547 hours (shameful I know). Could it be the new patch? I did update my drivers for Fallout 4...was playing for a bit. Here is the link to my save on drop box. Also its hard to describe but When you hit the level up + sign on the character portrait the sound seems to cut out for a split second and then comes back normally. In fact every once in a while I will have some type of sound stutter/stutter issue. Before 2.03 I didn't have the issues. I did have a bit of sound stutter when you clicked on "New Game" and it does the mini song and Floats the text "Pillars of Eternity" but once the guy starts talking for Act I it would go away. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gcaos9xmf1u29lk/636d2b0de18d44ae8f478bd6f1860a37%2019355606%20Cave.savegame?dl=0

Funny I was thinking another Order as my first successful PotD/ToI was a Kind Wayfarer. Was thinking of Going Bleak Walker and grabbing The Black Path for Alpha Strike kills with debuffs. Along with a debuffing weapon like Strike Hard this can make for a very useful tank. I just feel like Sword and the Shepherd and Strange Mercy scale terribly. In the early game they are good but in the late game its like a droplet of water in your massive sea of HP. Where a Frightened debuff is always good. Or ya Maybe I will just roll a Wayfarer again as Benevolent and Passionate are easy to know in a TC run. That being said Cruel and Aggressive is easy too. Both work. All of them are pretty easy to guess in a TC run except Stoic, Rational and Diplomatic. that's imo.

That build is similar to my last Paladin with stats BUT with a key difference and that is this guy will have Zealous Focus and a Weapon Focus. that's +12 more acc. I will in general be taking offensive talents other then weapon and shield style. I go one handed for my alpha strikes it will be +24 more ACC. Less damage then 2 handers but high rolls with Vulnerable attack the damage will be good for a durable front liner I think. I think If I want to use a 2hander for those Alpha strikes +12 more ACC isn't going to cut it. I would have to drop 5 points somewhere and put 5 into Per. So like a 15 Resolve, 13 INT, 14 CON and a 15 PER. 12 might and the rest 10. Thoughts?
