If you are playing PoTD enemyt stats are higher. It in my opinion mandatory to have a debuffer who lowers those defenses. You need to get the dice lob sided on your side. That means having a Wizard, Druid or Cipher. You have Aloth. increase his accuracy with your priest or take the Eldritch Aim Spell (or potion) . Also if your upgrade your priests holy radiance to give accuracy it stacks with other accuracy buffs. Grab CC spells like Slicken, Chill Fog and curse of blackness. You will keep him controlled. Focus him with your ranged and he will be dead. Yes the blights block you from meleeing him so prone him/blind him and he will have a lot less deflection. That's when you focus him with ranged weapons. I have found since you CAN cc bosses in this game and they do not have astronomical amounts of Endurance like in other games it is often beneficial to eliminate them first. Secondly, if you he resists CCs and you see him casting Fan of Flames have your party run away and out range it.

This has been my exact experience. Realtively bug free up until 2.0. I would say that although not perfect 1.6 was the best state of the game. Don't get me wrong 2.2 has improved a lot of things but has messed up sagani and FoD issues with Soulbound weapons. That being said in over 500 hours of playing I have not had 1 one crash.

Ya dude this is a big problem. and its my fault for making softies my mechanic. I have been playing this game for a while and always took a large athletics score for my frontline so they can fight more....but maybe I am over doing it or don't know exactly how fatigue effects combat. I thought id have to rest a lot more with a tank that has 5 athletics...am I wrong? I have been playing the game a while so its not like I do not know what the druid does. I have asked help on another thread with the Cipher but I know it how it works. The thread was mainly for Cipher vs Bosses. Its going to be Hiravious.

Update #101: Update 2.02 is Live
Torm51 replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
No type of issues with Draining on steam. -
Hey guys. I am currently really late into my Trial of Iron PoTD run. Well I have lost my second wizard now as I got careless (it was really late and I was about to go to sleep lol) and triggered a trap in Cragholdt killing my Wizard (second one on this playthrough) instantly. Well I refuse to cheese it and get a THIRD one. I just don't think an awesome Wizard would be so readily available. So who could fill the CC roll? My main concern is the Master Below and whatever is at the end of Cragholdt (no spoilers !) as they have the potential to end my game. My last PoTD trial of iron run ended this way. I lost a core member late in the game, fought the master below with a not so familiar class and lost. I dominated The Torn Bannerman and now am at the undead portion of the siege (no spoilers!). What class do you think is my best bet for the debuff roll? I was thinking Hiravias? Grieving Mother? My party has been a melee heavy build throughout the game. Frontline is Paladin, Paladin, Monk, Rogue then my backline is CC caster, Priest. I crushed the Alpine Dragon with this crew but I had a Wizard. PS This is the LAST trial of iron/PoTD run that I make a Wizard my mechanic. I truly try and be careful with traps and ONE mistake and they are TOAST in every play through I get a KIA squishy because of traps. The issue is my Frontliners need high Athletics so there is no room to make one a high mechanic....Maybe I am getting to much Athletics on them? I always have around 8.

Odd Nua (The Descent)
Torm51 replied to Nurgles Socks's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
You cant see just fight a few. If you have trouble and die come back (or if you are me and only play Trial of Iron start again!) or if you win but had to throw every per rest spell or all of your abilities just to eek out survival come back! If you follow the story/stay around defiance bay level 5 is great. Just keep going. -
Odd Nua (The Descent)
Torm51 replied to Nurgles Socks's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Like everyone said if its your first time probe around and fight the fights you think you can win. Once you get to a new level sneak around and see what bad guys are on that level if you see they are too high come back. Personally I have done it twice. Now I just wait until I am level 12 or so and do the entire thing as one big campaign. -
check the technical support page. not this one which is for beta patches. I have a similar thread up with Sagani in that she keeps getting a graceful retreat talent every time she leaves the party. They seem related. There is also another thread about her being naked, duplicated and had no gear. It seems to be an issue with the Ranger class and something with the graceful retreat talent and respeccing.

Critical Focus UP.
Torm51 replied to hilfazer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ya dude. the only thing I can think of is if you combine it with say a Priests Desperate Prayer (the crit one) I know they stack. Or you are giving the Zealous Focus to a rogue who already has 20% crit chance. You would give him 25%. Combining with other cit effects makes it kind of crappy..Critical focus by itself is miserable.- 5 replies
