  1. Okay, so you've established that you don't like OE. Why are you still here? Just leave already.
  2. LA is working on other games right now. I dout they are paying much attention to their patch testing... which is why it's probably taking so damn long.
  3. Someone that wasn't born from the Mandalorian War would be nice.
  4. Isn't in modified in TSL? Or in stealth mode? More importantly, who cares.
  5. Umm... LA was the one who ORDERED the game to be released, even though they knew of the outstanding numbers of technical issues. The completely failed in their QA. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure, and now Obsidian Entertainment is known as the company that "backed down and shipped an inferior product". How do we know their next product won't reflect the same lack of pride in their craftsmanship? Regardless of who ordered who to ship what, the fact remains that OE developed KOTOR2 and it was bad. now the question has to be asked: "Will NWN2 [1] be bad? What if Atari wants to ship urgently for christmas?" Will OE stand up and say "No it's not ready for shipping, and if you push, the deal is off?" Or will they betray their customers once again and ship an inferior product. OE can certainly argue 'Pushing back will destroy our company.', but I have to say 'Not pushing back will destroy it quicker. Also, OE, if you want some cheap furniture, the remains of Troika are probably still available.' [1] Or any future product by OE. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Once again... OE gave LA a beta stage product. LA takes a look at it... "Hmmm... Lots of script bugs, installing errors, graphic card issues.... Oh, screw it, lets release it anyways!" LA was responsible for Quality Asurance, this means they were suppose to make sure that the product was stable. They could have sent it back to OE for further testing, however, they choose to spit in all of are faces instead.

  7. Trust me ..Lucasart aren't above doing really stupid stuff... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I think stopping the development of KotOR III may have been a good thing, if what I've heard about Lucasarts' internal dev teams is true. KotOR III will almost certainly be made sometime, but now hopefully it will be Obsidian or Bioware that will make it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If either OE or BIOWARE make the game, that is completely fine with me..it's the part about LucasArts publishing it that I'm worried about... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps they will learn not to be greedy bastards...? Yeah right
  8. God*****, I can't stop laughing. I think I'm gonna die. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhh, Have a little more confidence in yourself
  9. I have a question... What's the big deal about being cannon? Does Kotor1/2 not being cannon make the story any less fantastic?
  10. Well... If I would of answered this question yesterday... I would have said, "Nope, not a star wars fan. But I do love Kotor." But today... I bought the Trilogy... Just to see what all the hype was about... And... I'm watching it for the first time... And... I kind of like it... ; ;
  11. Perhaps... But Revan was in no better condition. Finding all those Star Maps, solving all those problems (or killing everyone) and discovering you were once the Dark Lord... That kind of stuff can wear a guy/girl out
  12. Perhaps during the the time he was the Dark lord, but not afterwards. Shortly after brainwashing? We have absolutely know way to know this. She describes being tortured for weeks before she fell. THis doesn't mean she was sent right afterwards. Also, when you fight her on the Star forge... Now, correct me if i'm wrong... But Didn't Revan just get through basicly killing everything on it? Droid and dark jedi alike?
  13. I guess you make a good point about Malak. However, I'm sure Master Vandar referes to Revan as a padawan. o_O Any case... back to what you said originaly... About bastilla being more powerful than Revan. Though she was possibly more powerful that what Revan was. It's pretty clear that Revan isn't the same person anymore (light or dark side).
  14. Uh, that's the point I was trying to make. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah... Sorry, I was trying to direct that responce to Nur Ab Sal Maybe i'm mistaken but... Wasn't Revan a padawan when He joined the war?
  15. Just curious... Are we talking Revan pre-mind destruction? In that case, we don't know how powerful Revan was... We never get to see him duel or anything. We know he was more powerful that Malak, who i'm sure was stronger that Bastilla. And, if we are talking about Revan, after we (the players) take control of him... I always assumed it was a fresh start. You don't even start out force sensitive. So basicly, a nobody surpases a Jedi who was been trained from childhood :S
  16. I find that amusing. If Revan was such an 'average Jedi', then how in the blue hell could he have defeated Malak with the power of the star forge behind him? Did you not see the other 'average Jedi' that Malak defeated easily and used their power during the battle? Plus, if Revan was so 'average', and has NO special quialities, then how in the bluest of blue hell did he lead the entire Republic forces to victory in the war? In addition to actually finding the Star Forge that had been undiscovered for millienia. And, Bastila stronger than Revan? Say wha? Hmm, then how is it that with the LS ending, after Bastila repeatidly "re-charges", Revan *still* defeates her? I'm not even going to bother going into details with Vander. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your 100% correct. Revan was refered to as The Heart of the Force several times during TSL. I imagine giving him that kind of a title, can give you a hint to his power and importance. Were you paying attention at all during the first Kotor DarkLordRulius? Even Bastilla admits that Revan is stronger than her. He is also refered to as an incredibly powerful Jedi by the Jedi Masters. It's hard to compare him with Vader, Luke and Yoda... But i'm sure he ranks up there. As for the Exile being more powerful... It's possible, Kreia help the Exile at a very high regard. She even called him his greatest apprentice. Perhaps Kotor3 will reveal more.
  17. The PC is not a static platform. It's a set of technologies, related to varying extent to one another, and constantly changing. Because PCs will necessarily remain extremely common for reasons other than gaming, they will be used for gaming. Simply because they're there, and therefore a market exists. It's inevitable. The PC is defined by the quality of its attempting to perform as many jobs as possible as fully as possible on a single set of technologies. Gaming happens to be one of them. And as long as its other purposes remain, and are not replaced, there's no reason for gaming to disappear. Especially because its other uses have the tendency to push technology forward even for their own sake. And "replacing" for their other purposes, a mess of different technologies which may or may not depend on each other to lesser or greater extents depending on user needs and preferences is not possible. How is it that a platform of the future will simultaneously replace, say, PCs which function as fileservers running NetBSD, PCs which function as routers running Linux, PCs which function as your grandmother's $300 web-surfing-and-nothing-else box, PCs which populate school computer labs, PCs which function as web kiosks on custom Linux builds, and PCs which function as high-end gaming terminals? Even if all games disappeared from planet earth, a huge necessity for PCs would persist specifically because they represent a vast range of technologies which serve very different purposes under very different circumstances. You can't replace them all. What defines PC, anyway? X86? The relevance of the original X86 standard as the basis for modern "PC" processors is increasingly minimal. And BSD and Linux "PCs" operate on non-X86 processors anyway. It can't be that. And will Windows be the OS of tomorrow? Who knows? Mac is increasingly stylish. Linux's marketshare is continually increasing too. One can never underestimate the possibility for sudden and radical change in the world of computer technology. But even if MS disappeared miraculously from planet earth, a horde of other companies would be only too happy to take their place, and snatch up the huge demand for a popular PC standard (which is really all MS provides - benevolent tyranny over the industry - it's arguable that there being no tyrant ruler for the industry would make it even stronger). The notion of another "platform" replacing the "PC" is nonsensical, because the PC itself is not a singular platform: it is a vast array of semi-inter-connected computing technologies which persistently adapt and develop in response to the various and often quite disimilar needs of various industrial and personal user environments alike. And it's not the property of any one vendor. It's the property of hundreds, and the work of thousands of independent developers. And as long as PCs (or Macs - the difference is trivial at this point) populate the earth, they will continue to be a viable gaming platform, by virtue of their very existence. There's no way to go back to 1975 and the days of CP/M at this point. As soon as you hit the mid-seventies, games on popular computing platforms are here to stay. There's no way to destroy the technology so horrifically as to prevent the operation of games on them. And games demonstrate a tendency to spread, as far as I can tell, rather than to remove themselves from viable platforms, where they exist. In a world where games move in to fill tiny cell-phone screens and black-on-green PalmPilot screens at the slightest opportunity, PC games are here for good. Their relative popularity as a gaming platform may vary over time, but their presence as a gaming platform is quite inevitable. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well said. It's pretty ignorant to say PCs will soon be obsolete gaming wise. I mean, all your console technology is based on it... The xbox2 is using a ati x800xl...
  18. Ahhh, I dout there is an Actual "official" face for either Revan or the Exile. Dout there ever will be too. As for me, I choose the guy that looked like he had a 9:00 - 5:00 job for Kotor, and the Jesus looking guy for the second
  19. Let's say PC is a pretty good one. PC Pros - * Better Graphics * Better Sound * Better Load times * Better Controls (imo) PC Cons - * Very unstable Atm * Un-optimized engine for newer hardware XBox Pros - * Just pop in the DVD and play * XBox Cons - * Some problems with Modded XBox, permenant bugs (Because Ms won't allow patches over XbL). * 640x Resolution (Crap by most PC standards) And I know, some of you are thinking, "I can hook up my xbox to ub33r Tv!!1!!" However, I'm sure a lot of us PC users are hooking are GPUs to are own TVs (I'm playing mine on my HDTV )
  20. On the Ebon Hawk, ask T3 how he got there. I think you have to beat an INT 16 check, some Computer skill checks and an INF check. The INT check shouldn't be much of a problem for any character build once you have the Ossus Robes and somebody in your party has Master Valour. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Base INT16? I upgraded T3 completely, with base INT14, and never got the message... Is that the reason I didn't get it?
  21. You have a point ( not joking). Only visit those boards if you want your IQ to drop off a bit. Sending emails to LA doesn't hurt though.
  22. This thread is stupid. People have the right to complaine about an unusable product they bought with their hard earned money. Though, It shouldn't be done here, they should take their complaints to the LA boards, and email them. LA was the one who failed in the QA and pushed this unstable product onto the market. Also, it's not just low end systems that are having problems with this game. My system (p4@3.2 w/ ATI x800xl) is having contant FPS issues, and random crashes. PC players are getting it the worse. Not only did we have to wait 2 extra months, but we had to endure the xbox players who had already played through the game, and were spreading the story around the net. It's funny, after those 2 months, not only did we get a horrible port, with all the bugs and exploits of the original, but we got a version with even MORE bugs. It's kind of funny when you think about it <_< In any case, I'm waiting for the patch. I'm not a winer, I have never posted a thread complaining about the game, because i know, it wasn't all obsidians fault. But people do have the right to, when you buy a product, you expect it to work.
  23. AGP is still very good. The performance different at the moment is very little. But, if your interested in getting a new mobo, why not get a PCI-Express? Nothing to lose and much to gain :D
