  1. I'm not saying every AoE should do this, that would be very silly, indeed. But I think certain AoEs with a small area should do this. At the very least the UI shouldn't imply that you have targeted an enemy by causing the arrows to appear within their unit circle.
  2. When selecting a target for a spell, the spellcaster will cast the spell at the spot you cast the spell, not where the enemy has moved since you told them to cast the spell. This is pretty annoying, especially if you want to get something like Arcane Assault off early in the fight. It's counter-intuitive that the UI shows you casting at a specific target, yet when you actually cast the spell it targets the ground.
  3. Yeah it does, actually. Case in point: "They don't think it be like it is, but it do." How do you know this sentence contains improper grammar? Because of the word "be," which should be spelled is, and because of the word do, which should also be spelled is. That would be considered a conjugation error, which falls under grammar. It is the wrong word; it is not misspelt. "be" is certainly spelt in that manner. This is correct spelling. It is, instead, incorrect grammar. They removed encumbrance, they removed ammo, they gave us a 'stash', they played babysitter in regards t
  4. What Varana said. Although spelling was up to the individual and very variant, the grammar and conjugations were, for the most part, consistent. Also, this isn't Old English, nor is it even Middle English. Old English is ├ćnglisc, and Middle English is this. What we are concerning ourselves with is Early Modern English. If you're good, you might be able to understand Middle English after you learn what some of the new unused runes mean. Old English is a bit harder, though.
  5. I'm probably one of the biggest proponents for correct grammar and the importance of it on this forum, however it's a game in a fictional world. Who is to that isn't grammatically correct in that world? Who is to say that even if it is grammatically incorrect for that world, that the fictional author of the book didn't fudge it up. So what? Chalk it up to a grammatically inept monk, priest, historian, or whomever wrote the book, and move on. The contents of no in game book should break your immersion unless it's contents have real world references, references to something that doesn't belo
  6. I've been streaming for a bit, and am moving to some Pillars of Eternity. Come and check it out! http://twitch.tv/natusake
  7. I'll be beginning a stream once again. It'll be as it was before, Expert mode, normal difficulty, main character is a cipher. http://www.twitch.tv/natusake
  8. After having played the game for a few hours: The art is fabulous. The graphics are great, especially for a 2D (2.5D?) game. The lighting system is beautiful. As far as gameplay and mechanics goes, it needs polishing, but lack of polish is expected in a beta, as are glitches, which abound. I am disappointed with the portrait selection, and the lack of distinctive item pictures. I think there needs to be a few tweaks with how a few things play out. For instance (Spoilers) the tanner with the shop next to the tower is obviously in league with the cultists, but you can not ask him anythin
  9. Using custom party formations gives a different result than expected 1) Begin a new game 2) Open the custom party formation screen 3) Change the party formation 4) Close the custom party formation screen 5) Select all party members and move them 6) Notice that the formation is different to what you chose it to be The party formation should be in line with how I customize it Even if I change the formation back to the original one, the party formation is still rather strange. I've attached a few screenshots of the custom party formation I had and the resulting formation in-g
  10. I'll begin streaming more Pillars in around 10 minutes, maybe a bit later. Come and watch guys. http://www.twitch.tv/natusake
  11. I'm just starting to livestream, and I will begin this by streaming Pillars of Eternity. I've already streamed today, you can find the recorded video of my stream on my livestream. I also streamed while I was waiting for the beta, so if you just want to see the beta skip past the very short session of POWDER, and past the Volgarr gameplay straight to PoE. http://www.twitch.tv/Natusake I also may be streaming later in the day, so stay tuned. Any feedback encouraged.
  12. I'll be streaming the beta as well. As I wait, I'll be playing random stuff, for now Volgarr the Viking Come and have fun. Also, this is my first stream, so be nice. http://www.twitch.tv/natusake
  13. NAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Stupid Obsidian and their big evil corporation-style ANTICS!!!
  14. Vril's proof is insufficient. Suggesting that the beta will be released at 11AM is certainly blind, and it is certainly optimistic. As for the former, the writer of that post had no idea when it was to be released since Obsidian did not say anything about the time. For the latter, the writer of that post was certainly hopeful as to the releasing of the beta at that time, and I consider that optimism. The refusal of optimism is not necessarily pessimism. It could be realism which is oft confused with pessimism, and oft excused from pessimism.
  15. Well if that isn't blame I don't know what is. You consider the treatment Obsidian is giving you to be second-class, but you don't blame them for that treatment? What, then, do you blame that treatment on? The sun? The rotation of the Earth? The fact that it is spherical? Suffice it to say, I am done with this discussion. Good night, sir.
  16. Right. Your perspective it totally understandable, it is just not logical. One's expectations are derived from their own desires, and so their disappointment is their own fault. I may be sounding a little Buddhist here, but that is at least my perspective. I think it would be nice if developers considered other timezones, and your perspective is an understandable one, as I said. I just don't think we should blame the developers or get disappointed for something like this. Good on you for not being angry at them. I'm sorry if I am a bit blunt in my posts, I am just trying to take a logi
  17. With a regular publisher - yes, without a doubt. But with an indie dev like Obsidian I had the apparently foolish illusion they'd actually care enough o think about things like that and release the beta at, say, 8 am local time, so people in other parts of the world would have a chance to play at the stated date as well. But now that I know I'll add another day to any future date they post, just to be sure not to be disappointed again. 8 AM PDT? What about people on other areas? There's always going to be somebody who has a different timezone, and is going to be 'left out' Obsidian
  18. Is it really their fault that the 18th of August in PDT is not the 18th in different parts of the world? I think people in other parts of the world should consider the timezone that the developers are in, just as they are asking the developers to consider the timezone they are in. If a developer in the UK says the it a release will be on the 18th, then why would I be confused if it is released late at night for me? I understand your situation, but isn't it unreasonable for the developers to consider every possible timezone that doesn't align with theirs? Wouldn't it be more efficient if the pe
  19. Delay? What delay? When did Obsidian say it was coming at 10 o' clock? They just said it would be coming today, nothing more. Although I would prefer if they mentioned the exact time they would be releasing keys, I suppose we will just have to wait.
  20. I'm weirdly okay with this. This is actually a very strange but intriguing idea. Just consider the situation that all of this is simply a dream from another alien race, but we're actually that alien race. Everything we know is just a fabrication, but we still put our hopes and dreams into certain things, and try our all for our own goals. Then when we die and wake up, we do nothing more than pass it off as a weird dream, and ignore, or perhaps are ignorant of, the intense emotion, hardship, suffering, and joy this life is.
  21. I dun get it. If it has anything to do with getting the beta quicker though, I'm all for it.
  22. Dimitri, I'm sure if you lurk then unsavory things will happen... In other words, give us the beta, or give us death!
  23. I'm fine with this as long as the gum also gives me a big head.
