  1. The game doesn't reward neutral play, I think. There are one or two special items, but you don't get a prestige class, and I'm not sure you can enter the tomb on Korriban. If you find anything extra while playing, please let us know.
  2. This is correct DL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except that there's no such thing as 'officially' in the English language. If Aimo chooses to refer to her work as comics, that's her right. Most people would find either manga or comic to be acceptable descriptions; neither is confusing, at least to a layperson like me. And this is Aimo's thread, so perhaps we could move the discussion about manga vs. comics to Way-Off Topic?
  3. I guess I just didn't want to believe it.
  4. I don't think Colin Powell could be described as a neo-con. I always thought of him as more of an old-style Republican, a moderate conservative. I know little of his approach to domestic issues, though.
  5. If Kotor 3 is made, and the True Sith turn out to be anything like as terrible as Kreia suggested, then the earlier wars will probably be seen by history as a precursor to the greater conflict, the Great Sith War, or something like that. You can never know these things until some time has elapsed. As to why people in the time of the Exile are choosing to call it that, it probably owes a lot to how it's been presented to them in the Republic media, suggesting that the Republic Senate has lost confidence in the Jedi Order, and understandably so.
  6. When I hold my cursor over it is says 'Vosa' - perhaps that's her name?
  7. Convert the med-lab into a walk-in wardrobe/closet. That and the HK/Mira storage area into a lavatory. I'd like to have fewer, more interesting, more valuable items. The weight limit is a good idea, too, or perhaps a numerical limit instead - carry slots or something like that. Anything so that you don't have to keep offloading tons of stuff at the shops.
  8. Remember Bioware didn't plan for a sequel - the runaway success of Kotor was something of a surprise, I believe. Arguably, Obsidian responded too much to fan suggestions in giving a role to Bastila and Revan at the expense of the coherence of their own story. Also arguably, Obsidian didn't give much prominence to Revan or Bastila, and it's just fans of Kotor 1 who are magnifying their roles because we find the characters interesting. If Kotor 3 is made, there will have to be a lot of tying up of loose ends. I wouldn't fancy taking it on.
  9. That would be wonderful. The whole world would breathe a sigh of relief. Is it really going to happen?
  10. I'd rather they stopped repeating dialogue and instead implemented a decent journal system, one which logged not only quests but also important information and rumours that you've heard during your journey. I know you need to keep such things brief these days for the non-attentive gamer, but a short 'bios of people I've met' section would be OK.
  11. Perhaps it's still awaiting a North American release?
  12. He'll probably decide to run anyway, because he was inspired by the support expressed for this hoax website. We live in a world where the line between fiction and reality is very blurred.
  13. The music is hugely important for me. It has to be really bad for me to turn it off. On the other hand, once I've played through a game once and am replaying it, I often turn the music down (not off) and have Radio 4 (speech based) playing in the background. This is one of the benefits of a game like Arcanum where most of the dialogue is not voiced.
  14. Just copy and paste from one of Meta's posts. (a ligature, I think it is - a digraph is any two letters which represent a single sound, like sh or ch)
  15. Jedi WeaponsMaster has nice two-handed weapon feats. That's probably the only reason, for me. :D
  16. Obsidian explained in a recent magazine article that they tried to improve the AI but found it was too complicated and difficult a task for the short time available to them. The end result is probably no different to Kotor 1.
  17. No arguments from me.
  18. Indeed. I've never noticed any differences in behaviour or personality between blondes and brunettes that couldn't be attributed to how they are treated by others, mainly men. I've spent most of my adult life in countries where black was pretty much the only hair colour out there, so I guess I like that best.
  19. I think we have a candidate for 'Understatement of the Year'! (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) I really need to make progress on my dissertation today, so I'll download this now ( (w00t) ) and read it tonight as a reward, but only if I'm very good. Thanks, Aimo. Edit: OK, I'll just read one chapter now.
  20. Well, I thought so, initially. But the chimps will have their way... On the other hand, the post-holocaust setting is more than just Fallout. There may not have been any other great RPGs in this setting, but there's scope for them. And who's to say what a post-Force holocaust galaxy would look like - it needn't be anything like a post-nuclear holocaust.
  21. Or Kreia lied and said you were the last, for her own reasons. Nihilus can only sense groups of Jedi, so there might be hundreds of individual Jedi hiding, ready to come crawling out of the woodwork and be really snooty in Kotor 3. They may not know of each other - remember the masters in Kotor 2 didn't even know about Atris.
  22. There isn't such a feat - NPCs can't take persuade points. If they could, they might start influencing you, and that could cause the influence system to implode completely.
  23. If I didn't know better, I'd think you wanted a game where you didn't play as a Force User. " Well, since it's apparently possible to destroy the Force without destroying all life (I'll admit Kreia is not a terribly reliable source of information, but what the hell), why not set an RPG in a post-Force holocaust where nobody has the Force? You could be a former Jedi who has to learn to get along without the Force.
  24. Star Wars Scrabble! Triple score for Wookie names! (I can't believe Disney did this. ) Kotor was a great success for many reasons, one of which was that they changed the era to one that was recognisably Star Wars but wasn't limited by the movies' stories. So I'd like another one of those, please. Maybe next time send it 4000 years into the future from the movies - that would be interesting to see.
  25. Well, he is the leader of an entire race. He must have at least some charisma and ability to persuade others to follow him. On the other hand, the other characters ought to have some persuade points too, if we're aiming at a reflection of their likely persuasive skills.
