  1. Wha...? there was a 20 minute video of KotOR prior to its release? Anyone care to post a link?
  2. Suprisingly, this thread hasn't been deleted yet. Considering i got a warning from the mods about my 'Cart Onasi Chruch of Love'-thread. They thought that it was a too obvious flamebait
  3. True that, most reviewers had a really hard time trying to finish it.
  4. I think the UN invalidated itself by routinely failing to intervene in situations, and waggling it's finger for twelve years and doing nothing. If the security council didn't think Iraq was doing anything wrong, they why issue resolutions saying otherwise for 12 years? Why threaten to take action, and never do it? Either the intelligence was flawed, or there could be other factors. When Clinton bombed Iraq, he didn't give them warning. Some people suggest that Clinton hit a lot of their weapon caches, destroying much of their WMD/WMD capacity. Still others suggest alot of the weapons left Iraq to Syria while Bush gave them plenty of time to prepare. Who knows? I think we failed to finish certain jobs in Afghanistan, and we failed to establish a proper police force in Iraq quickly. These are the things that should make Rumsfeld nervous. I think 12 years of security resolutions, and the ties to Al Quaeda were enough for us to go in and liberate Iraq. Saddam openly admitted to giving money to the families of suicide bombers. I have little doubt he should have been taken out. The question is, were lives wasted by not taking care of business properly. I think we need to overhaul our intelligence community. I think they've given us too much swagger, and not enough credible intel. That's just an justification on whatever Bush's agenda is. He still lacks severly in diplomacy, rendering the U.N. as not 'valid' is very serious business. It lets all the big countries do whatever they want and leaving the smaller ones as pawns in a game of chess. The Iraq matter could've been handled way smoother, "my way or the highway" is not diplomacy. There's one things that i find funny: - How the war on iraq was all about WMDs and harboring terrorist has been shifted to liberating civilians from a brutal dictator. I supported the intitial attack on Afghanistan, but like you said, it was left way too quickly.
  5. Half-life 2 on PS2? I find that highly unlikely. Even if true, then it will be more of a vanilla version compared to the PC in all departments.
  6. Red Faction's geomod engine was hyped up but didn't deliver, since the whole thing was poorly implemented. For Doom 3, HL2 and Halo 2, i'll reserve my judgement.
  7. I hope they do, the whole fps-scene has been stagnant for years. One horrible WWII clone after the other...
  8. In what sort of way would they improve the gameplay? They aren't exactly doing anything new IIRC.
  9. And a guy i know, said that you have to be a hut in KotOR II. Just read the FAQ the next time, your friend is playing you a prank.
  10. I just have to ask this. I never asked this question to someone who got both. So my question is....why? Not saying it is a bad thing. But whats the motive to get both? 1. I got a girlfriend that likes KotOR too. 2. I want to play KotOR II whenever i want, and so does she. 3. By getting both, there's smaller chance to annoy each other
  11. I think that it will be very little new info out until the hype machine starts just before the release.
  12. Damn, he does have a thing for 'dark' stories. That's not 'dark', more like 'sinister'...
  13. They were a buggy bony insectoid species. Quite frankly, I doubt it would have been possible for them to interbreed without the dark side energies. Pics?
  14. Come to think about it, how did the Sith as species differ from humans?
  15. Hey Chris! your opinion about this? Now, don't be shy....
  16. Yes, an ending in the same tone as ROTJ would be really good, excellent idea.
  17. I'm sorry, but I think this is an horrible idea. One of the reasons that KoTOR has been rated the best RPG of all time across all platforms is because of the romances. While I do like the other interactions, and look forward to them, cutting out the romance is simply awful. KoTOR was very inspiring to many, many people, due in large part to the character development that was there when the PC was drawing romantically closer to either Carth or Bastila. Romances are included in just about every piece of classical literature out there, from every genre. There is a universal appeal about them, which is one of the reasons why Baldur's Gate II was such an enormous success as well. The romances are one of the most talked about aspects of the game. The majourity of players love having them in there, and truly appreciate how much they added to the enjoyment of playing KoTOR. I know many, many people are looking forward to the romances in KoTOR 2, and when I asked at E3, I was informed by LA that there would be romances in the story. Looking at it from purely a writer's standpoint, love is the single most powerful and most used device out there. Using Star Wars, the Han/Leia romance aside, the catalyst for most of the movies was love. Luke's love for Obi Wan, Luke's love for his friends, and finally, Luke's love for his father. It's difficult to inspire that kind of devotion in a third person environment like a game without using the romance card. Please, please reconsider the romance option. I truly believe that KoTOR2 will suffer if it is left out, and many, many fans will be disappointed. heh, i just reread this, and it sort of makes no sence. i dont think it has been rated a great rpg cause of the horrible romance in it how did the romance in the game inspire people? i dont know if you can speak for the majority of the people about liking the romance i dont know about anyone else, but my favorite parts of the game was killing the guy in the locker, great graphics, fun battles, and some of the more creative sidequests like the sandral/matale quest, not some romance plot i wouldnt say that 'romance of kotor' is the most talked about aspect of the game For me, it was at the whole 'Revelation'-part KotOR 1 peaked. But for my girlfriend, it was definately the romance (Eventhough she wanted a romance with Canderous instead, Carth was way too much of a p*ssy :D) Never underestimate the power female consumers
  18. Yes, but TESB left with the cliffhanger, as you said. After playing a game for 40-50 hours and being left with a cliffhanger isn't a smart gamedesign choice IMHO.
  19. Interesting, care to elaborate a bit on the subject? (pull of things we haven't done before?)
