  1. Compared to alot of other games in the industry, Lucasarts actually shipped on the promised releasedate. How the quality product was is another issue.
  2. There's some confusing scenarios playing out at the ending level that makes one scratch his head. And after reading about what was cut from the ending, the confusion turns into anger over the potential wasted for christmas sales.
  3. Star Wars is a property of Lucasarts. Bioware weren't allowed, nor Obsidian for that matter, to do a KotOR game without signing to certain agreements on how the franchise should be designed. Allowing mods wasn't apparantly Lucasarts top priority.
  4. I think that was dark side battle meditation?!? To help the troops down on the planet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IIRC, it was about controlling all the beasts on Dxun/Onderon.
  5. While Lucasarts don't have a problem with the Jedi Knight-series being modded, they certainly have with the KotOR-series. KotOR runs on the Odyssey-engine, which is basically the same as the Aurora engine for NWN, but with a better renderer, so there probably alot of moddable content to choose from. Too bad for us, Lucasarts made it very clear already before the release of the original KotOR, that no SDK or dev-tools will be released.
  6. Sounds ok'ish. I wouldn't be suprised if the KotOR III would start in the same vein.
  7. Making a KotOR III without having the story to continue to a final showdown would be an insult to the gaming community. While KotOR 1 might have stood on its own ground, KotOR II is just one hell of a build up to a third installment: Throwing all that out of the window like nothing happened is simply sheer stupidity. KotOR III might begin a couple of years after TSL, with a new player at the Jedi Academy on Coruscant, going on his first mission to (what the heck) Tatooine to investigate a ship that's crashed there, you find the Ebon Hawk and two droids, who are insisting that they need to to meet the Jedi Counsil or any other party member from KotOR or KotOR II, and the story kicks on from there. So, it's option #3 for me.
  8. I hope this is a joke, but that makes no sense what so ever. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it does. Lucasarts would probably never let them add it, but since the files are almost all there, modders could probably tweak around and find a way to add them to the game. That way, the game they wanted to make would be available. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm afraid the modders can't add it, since there's no tool to change the animations.
  9. Then you are obviously listening to the wrong bands Check out something by Opeth, Agalloch, Novembre, Edge of Sanity (especially the forty minute song, Crimson), or Arsis to see some well done. Like all genres of music, death metal has a ton of crappy artist and some very, very good ones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See my sig
  10. 1. Use paragraphs. 2. Use constructive critizism. 3. It's commonly known that if you add the line "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" at the [graphic options]-tab in your swkotor2.ini, it will solve the framerate issue. 4. If you fail on everything mentioned above, be man and leave this forum and move on with your life. It's just a game.
  11. When production costs became too high, in order to make a game these days its going to cost over 20 million. Just look at how many publishers there was 10 years ago and look at how many there are now, the game industry is concentrated into main groups that just want to make a profit. They are still some visionary people that are allowed to make their games as they want, like Hideo Kojima, but such people are rare these days since publishers want to rush out games as fast as they can so they can get a return of investment, the problem is they are afraid of inovative ideas and go into the "tried-and-tested" concepts that makes their games just another title in the market with no appeal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like the movie industry, sad but true. Despite the community critizism about the rushed ending of TSL, Lucasarts don't have a reason to pay attention to the enthusiasts within the gaming community. TSL sold 500000 copies on the xbox in the US in december, and it's currently #1 in the UK, even selling more copies than World of Warcraft(probably due to it being multi-platform game).
  12. Which application are you using to playback the files? Rad tools?
  13. Nihilus is talking backward english? No super ancient Sith language?
  14. Add the sentence in your swkotor2.ini that i described earlier in this thread, several has reported that takes away almost all framerate issues.
  15. It's called "Maximizing your planning and profit within the boundries of customer service" in the industry. I wonder when the gaming industry turned from a group of people wanting to make money of their vision of a good game, to an excel sheet with sales figues and capitalizing on trends. Maybe there never was such a time, just my wishful thinking.
  16. What aspect was anywhere that sad in KotOR II?
  17. Finished level 28 Guardian/Jedi Master here, currently trying out a Sentinel/Weapon Master combo.
  18. I wouldn't be suprised if Republic Commando will sell more copies than TSL.
  19. I am at work right now. I have to wait for our golf cart comes back to the office before I can actually go and do my work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
