  1. I agree the crafting system in PoE in my opinion doesn't make any sense. I think they should have went with Witcher 1 \ Never winter nights 2 route of crafting and item use. Where a blade sharpening - would give a buff to the blade for "x" period of time You can apply potions onto the blade etc. Because adding 3 mushrooms a gem and a hide of troll just seems like - lets just do something random. They could have made the world more living - where based on the missions you do the availbility and prices of goods will vary. You helped "x" tyrant the mine prices drop. Your reputation drops. But at least you get Cheap ore to craft "x" sword.
  2. Thanks - So if I do nothing but I am in the strong hold during the period of the attack. Do I auto loose or the fight auto start?
  3. I have a doubt is "Manually Resolve Conflict" suppose to make you perform the fight immediately, or is it suppose to fast forward time to when the attack is suppose to occur? I ask because I had an attack which is suppose to occur in 2 days. A construction project was suppose to occur in 1 1/2 days. But the construction project remained 1 1/2 days after doing manually resolve.
  4. Next time one option you can do is agro those lurkers further away. Once they are far enough they should be able to get up.
  5. That is really interesting - thanks for sharing. I was always wondering about that == Online industry is complicated + 1. Majority of online distributors take a flat cut of 30% off the top. From there it gets cut multiple ways with all the parties involved. In a publisher model it can still vary heavily - based on the type of relationship the studio has with the publisher. If the Studio is licensing the IP \ or if the Publisher is funding them and don't have rights to the IP \ if the publisher paid for development of the game partially or completely. Each type of contract varies considerably and the cut each party gets is generally kept as a trade secret. If you remember a little while back Obsidian CEO was complaining about how Publishers wanted to take advantage of PoE's success.
  6. I dunno I think the dialog should be something much more obvious when there is an alignment in stake. Something along the lines "You do this and I will make you an honorary member of "X"" That way you know without a doubt you are about to align with that faction.
  7. Search feature is on the very top right. Also Big screen mode is bugged. Turn off Big Screen mode and use normal steam window go to library and you should see your DLC.
  8. It takes a little while getting used to there are quite a few mechanics in play. It took me around 5 hours to get the hang of it. Basically pause and play or Bullet time [ Half Speed - though bullet time sounds so much nicer ] Gives you more control. Unless your guys are specifically ordered to attack they stand idle. Sometimes its to your benefit - as in he case when your own guys turn against you. Don't blindly just charge and hope to do a rock paper scissors roll. Use a scout to fully scout how big the enemy group is. If you attack 1 guy thinking he is alone, you may end up facing 6 instead which may end up raping your squad. Scouting helps a lot especially if some of those guys are on patrol and move a distance away - reducing the group you have to fight. Aggro them to a nice quiet location and spring the trap What I personally like to do is use a rogue to aggro and keep my mage at front in the trap. So he can do an AoE spell on the incoming horde - after which I shoot him back to the lines. After he fires off his AoE - I charge my tanks to the front which gives the time for the rogue and mage to get safely behind and fire away. Another good plan is to target the weak first and disable the strong to deal with in the end. Otherwise if you attack the strongest opponent first - the entire time your guys are being hit with the weaker ones until the strong one goes down.
  9. If the adventurer permanently dies, you can then hire a new one to replace him even if he was your 8th adventurer. There's no hard limit. so you can just kill them yourself if you want new adventurers? is there some reputation penalty or other negative consequence? Would be funny when you kill your own adventurer you get a Reputation boost as a sacrifice to the gods.
  10. Unfortunately, before I even realized this was an issue, I had already hit Steam as I had no idea what GOG was, but we both use Steam so :/ I'm also seen people mention they wanted to use Steam plus the Family Sharing doesn't work as you can't play at the same time with it. You should be able to play at the same time - as long the Main Game holder [ who owns the copy ] is offline [ steam offline ] and the Person being shared with is "online".
  11. In the very first area where you see the dark priest and 3 disciples infront of the ancient relic. If you keep pressing esc to skip the scene it results in the sound progressing but the scene it self to stall. The game it self does not crash as you can still see the movement in the Dark Priests robe. But the sound continues forward but the rest of the animations besides the robe are stalled [ The temple - the soul sucking rays - etc ]
  12. There actually quite a few DRM free games on Steam. Such as starbound. Just because it is on steam doesn't need to be attached to a DRM. Games which have things like Achievements \ Cloud Saves \ Steam Multiplayer Match Fixing - will be using the steam wrapper. http://steam.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games
  13. Thank you Obsidian for bringing this Genre Back from the Dead. So long I have wished for a style game to come back, personally I wasn't happy when Fallout series went 3D. Please keep producing more amazing games, loving every second of it. Except for the steam overlay bug - that is kind of annoying.
  14. So far I haven't seen any settings to adjust graphics. So I am guessing its a one size fits all sort of deal.
  15. So there is an additional 1.8gb after the preload? I wish they added the stuff like DLC - so you had the option if you want to download them or not.
  16. Glad to see Obsidian is finally out of the shackles of publishers. Loosing out on the Bethesda deal by 1 point was harsh, but as long as you keep pumping out classics the fans will support. Except Alpha Protocol..... .that should be buried in middle of the Mojave and forgotten.
  17. Isn't that the same with Steam too? I don't believe Steam requires the developer to give access to all versions. GoG on the other hand might.
  18. You essentially have 2 options from what I can see. Either Redeem it on GoG - so you both can get access to it. Or use Steam Family Sharing -> http://store.steampowered.com/promotion/familysharing The thing with steam family sharing is it has a loop hole. Only the user who the game is shared with needs to be online to access the other users library.
  19. They will send a Kickstarter update out telling you to go to your backer portal to get it Thanks I thought as much - I figured they would have said something by now or at least it would have been available for preloading on steam. I guess I will have to wait. Hope we get a chance to preload also.
  20. I really haven't been following up.... at all. Either way is it written anywhere how the keys are going to be delivered? Are they emailing it - or would it just appear in the backers portal like they did with wasteland 2?
