  1. Hi all, I’ve been working on a text-to-speech mod for Pillars of Eternity that reads most of the game’s text out loud in real time. The original motivation was personal. I built it for my wife, who has dyslexia, but it’s ended up being genuinely useful more broadly, especially given how text-heavy PoE can be. The goal wasn’t just basic TTS, but something that fits naturally into the game’s flow. Here is a Link to a Demo Video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn_OwYzoSZ4 What it doesReads unvoiced dialogue automatically Let's you hover or click dialogue options to hear them before selecting Covers journal entries, quests, cyclopedia, glossary, books, tooltips, and UI text Reads barks, scripted interactions, tutorials, and system messages Skips lines that already have voice acting You can still click voiced lines to hear the TTS version afterwards Audiobook-style playbackOne of the main features is a multi-speaker system: A narrator voice handles descriptive text Character voices handle dialogue It’s not trying to replace voice acting, but it does make the experience feel closer to a fully voiced RPG, especially for the large amount of text that was never recorded. Interaction and controlHover-to-read and click-to-read across most UI panels Play buttons added to longer text blocks Adjustable voice, speed, pitch, and volume Optional autoplay or fully manual use Hotkey to stop speech instantly Technical noteIt uses Windows’ built-in speech (SAPI), so there’s no external service or AI voice dependency required. DownloadYou can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/425 FeedbackIf anyone here gives it a try, I’d really appreciate feedback, especially around: Text that isn’t being picked up Awkward phrasing or pacing Areas where it breaks immersion Suggestions for improving usability I know PoE’s text density is part of its identity, so this isn’t meant to replace reading entirely, just to offer another way to experience it. Cheers.
  2. No, I haven't played the DLC yet. Not really sure I will, I started a NG+ on my save before the DLC came out and don't feel like going through the whole game again. Not because I didn't enjoy it, far from it. It's probably the best I've played in the last two decades, but it was far too emotionally draining to replay in a long while.
  3. Smashing stuff, I hope this also counts towards it 😊
  4. lack of moral was never a problem for usa vassal before the bigger problem is how obvious usa couldn't reign in their most belligerent vassal bigger show of weakness than multiple failed 20 year occupation
  5. I am not particularly strong in abusing character building systems, so I powered through him with parries. Yes, you can parry/jump everything. Party switch for phase3 really messed me up, as I barely used Sciel and Monoco throughout the game.
  6. I suspect he will take a pragmatic stance. No Hungarian support for Ukraine, but also no longering block the EU from supporting Ukraine Always take politicians with a grain of salt. Orban was once the progressive, anti Russian option in Hungary Hungary election: Jubilation in Budapest will be felt in Europe but leaves Moscow cold "It's an ironic full circle for Orbán. He became famous in 1989 in then-communist Hungary, calling on Russians to go home in a passionate speech he gave in the dying days of the Soviet Union. It's a phrase that first ricocheted through Budapest during Hungary's ill-fated anti-communist uprising of 1956."
  7. Thanks mate. Yes, you are right, I used Windows SAPI, so it currently only works on Windows.
  8. Very nice. 👍🏻 I assume this mod only works for the Windows version, is that correct?
  9. It was Friday they told us to change everything. And now we get the consequences.
  10. @majestic he didn't even get his turn. This felt dirty... Works with Verso>Maelle>Sciel>Maelle too. Didn't get the chance to change the order... I should have tried to struggle a bit more on my own... But I think that Verso/Sciel combo would work, especially now that I know Cheater works on Sciels force turn spell. Verso was doing similar damage, if you account for the doubling from Sciel, but I'm not sure if I could have burned him through phase 3. Maybe I'll reload and try tomorrow, just to see how close it would get without needing to parry/doge. Edit: I do wonder how much time I would need to learn all the parries, and play him through all 3 phases. Can you even parry phase 3 moves? Probably not on a keyboard, or at least not on mine. I need to get a new keyboard... :D
  11. Orban conceded. It's been 16 years, man.
  12. Oh... So Simon is a f**k you boss... I guess I can time the last bit of his health so I can burst him before he wipes me. The issue I'm having is that I haven't really found a broken Lune build (I haven't touched her since I got Monoco) and have not touched Sciel. I guess I can learn the counters, but he really is a f y boss. I like it.
  13. Please bring the Mutation load out Radial menu back. In Grounded 1, I swapped from my “exploring” Mutation load out to my “battle” load out constantly. I do use the whistle for my ant a lot.
  14. I suppose Trump accomplished an unusual feat in Iran. He managed to get Ayatollah Khamenei replaced with Ayatollah Khamenei as supreme leader 🤔
