  1. It was bit sarcastic joke. Last summer I said that I don't believe that US strikes were able to eliminate Iran's nuclear program only ensure that they will seek nuclear weapon
  2. If I remember correctly, there were 2 separate EU Steam regions previously, which were later merged into one due to a few publishers being illegally customer-unfriendly. https://steamdb.info/blog/steam-geo-locking-europe/ Finished Ender Magnolia. I've got the second ending and the last few achievements (which required a bit of farming in NG+; I think the bosses' movesets are slightly different there). I've also tried the Boss Rush mode, but not quite successfully - the setup is not possible to switch between the battles and the earlier bosses hit much harder than I remember. I could increase the difficulty and farm mini-bosses to unlock the gallery (sprites and concept art), but I'd rather leave it on a positive note. Overall, it is a delightful Metroidvania. Attempted to resume my playthrough of Absinthia. Realised that I do not like the RPGMaker combat (no positioning, etc.) and controls (the movement grid is very rigid), while there is only so much the developers can do about it. The story is fine - a group of teenagers from a no-name village go after a random bandit/cult leader after their village gets attacked.
  3. Iran's nuclear program was annihilated last summer according to Trump and co, so interesting to see it again as reason to attack
  4. Valve getting sued in New York for loot boxes. Or at least, that's the headline version. Seems to be more about there being a marketplace for selling the results of loot boxes than the mechanic itself, which is why they're targeting Valve/ Steam specifically instead of other who just use loot boxes. IMO, should have happened way sooner.
  5. Finally! Was waiting so long. Didn't want to buy a PS5 for literally a single game, since everything that interests me nowadays comes to PC anyways. But 80€ ... I'm going to wait.
  6. There's this guy on YT - Todd in the Shadows -with a lot of "one hit wonder" song breakdown/analysis videos. Guess he's been around a while/fairly popular, but I only noticed him the other week (when the almighty YT algorithm finally decided I might be interested, I suppose). Watched quite a few, hits the nostalgia vibes most of the time. Saw this one re: Barbie Girl, which made me wonder about the silly lip-synch vid that probably introduced me to that darn song. It's still on YT, too. 19 years. Sheesh. The days when ppl just randomly uploaded stupid stuff for giggles and it wasn't all "subscribe, hit that bell, sponsor" and MrBeast-like thumbnails. I kinda miss those days. Kinda.
  7. Alone in the Dark original trilogy as a Giveaway on GOG. https://www.gog.com/en/news/alone_in_the_dark_trilogy_giveaway_as_a_celebration_of_what_we_achieved_together
  8. I know, I know, possibly way over-hyped game. Still. Single-player? In-house engine (not UE5 etc)? Possibly optimized well even for somewhat older systems while still looking pretty good (I don't think it's as uber visuals as some ppl think in that area, but it's way way more than good enough/nice for a 3rd person)? Giant open world? Visceral combat, mounts/traversal, exploration? Lots of puzzles and varied quests? Well, if the first early reviews are even 75% positive, I'm buying it to try it. Although the super spastic wind-blown trees kinda annoy me. lol. Also, pre-defined chr (main, others/companions to switch between later or something?) not chr creation, if one cares about that. A massive quest-y-story-adventure perhaps, vs. "serious rpg". Edit: also for those who care, its base price is $70 (USA). So not a cheaper side release.
  9. Yeah, I find it logical, unfortunatelly it is very skewed in Euro countries, as some, like Slovakia, Bulgaria or Croatia, still have to pay same prices as in Germany or Netherlands. Despite income being 2-3x lower based on profession.
  10. French publisher Nacon files for insolvency (they own devs like Spiders [Greedfall]) https://www.vgchartz.com/article/467121/nacon-files-for-insolvency-as-it-assesses-all-possible-solutions/
  11. Yeah I will be waiting for a discount as well, especially that from the reviews I expect to enjoy the sequel less then the original. It’s also not an in-house port this time around so I will be waiting for specs and more importantly Digital Foundry’s port breakdown as well. Edit. Specs are out: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/death-stranding-2s-system-requirements-have-washed-ashore-and-theyre-pretty-reasonable /Edit. In other news: https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/remedys-new-ceo-is-a-former-sports-betting-guy-and-ea-executive-who-aims-to-scale-remedy-in-a-way-that-builds-lasting-value/ I don’t like the sound of that, but with how financially unviable Remedy seems to be some form of downfall is inevitable. Not that being a successful studio saves anyone from being shut down these days I suppose. I hope Control: Resonant will be good. I really appreciate them as a studio, but I also feel they can be highly uneven in their output.
