  1. Past hour
  2. I've had issues as well, I can place walls and such in a new place but not able to add things to my existing base. I can even destroy a wall but it won't let me build the same thing in it's place. I have a large "paved" space outside my house using pebble foundations with no lights or chests nearby and can't build a wall on it (of any variation).
  3. I also used to have many of the old tabletop boardgame wargames and strategy games back in the '80s and '90s, but now have just four left: Gulf Strike; NATO: The Next War in Europe; Civilization (the old AH boardgame); and, Axis & Allies. Apparently, "Gulf Strike" is the game SGS is going to be making as a video game next, after they're done with updates for "NATO's Nightmare", which is their most recent release. Used to play these games with a hardcore group of wargamers I was friends with in college. We also did a lot of TT miniatures wargaming. I used to have the rulebooks and a TON of miniatures for the Challenger 2000 system for modern land warfare. I had entire armored/mechanized/motor rifle battalions for Cold War US and Soviet armies. Nowadays I don't get to play TT anything anymore as I don't have anyone nearby with those interests. For video games I only have "The Operational Art of War IV," but unfortunately its developer, Matrix Games, has not been good at all in providing any updates or new scenarios since its initial release, leaving it up to modders to do that work. The problem for me with most existing "TOAW 4" scenarios, as with many other video game wargames, is that some 90% are WW2, and especially Eastern Front games. And the scope of those games, where you're running literally thousands of units, just feel way too overwhelming for me. I like my wargames at the operational level (so, regiments/brigades and higher), but with only a small number of units per side. But apparently, that's exactly the opposite of what most other gamers like to play, it would seem.
  4. Today
  5. Replaying Allen Wake on the Xbox. This thing is still fun.
  6. I've had multiple occasions where I am trying to build on grass floors with large areas and getting location obstructed. I am in a Multiplayer world but was hosting, tried quitting and coming back in multiple times but ended up having to completely move the grass to a slightly different area and then it worked. This has happened in a few different areas in a few different scenarios for me so I'm guessing it's something wrong with the mechanics?
  7. Hello Elric, I want to report a bug with the small shield ability " Binding block" who doesn't seem to work with your mod (only the 25% of time recover with weapons is applied, no bonus !). When I desactivate the balance polishing mod buff it works fine with the +15 accuracy bonus granted by a missed ennemy melee attack. I try to suppress the file related to this ability in the gamedata but it doesn't change anything. Thanks !
  8. @Gorth, the game "Flat Top" was specifically mentioned by the SGS guy in a Steam froum post as a game he'd love to work on in the future. But he also mentions that the game "Carrier Battles", which is currently available on Steam, is a very close replication of Flat Top. I'll post on the board games I still have later today when I get back home. Am posting this from work.
  9. When the IDF piles up dead civilians, at least they have the out of saying they had to use inaccurate weapons because the US was mean.
  10. I used to have more board games, but as mentioned before, moving often and long distances makes it hard to build up a circle of like minded friends. I used to do the old Play by Mail too with "War in Russia". We had a floppy with the game. We would take turns, save the game, mailing the floppy to the opponent once a week. Spent a lot of stamps and envelopes on that (a game turn in the game was one week, so we never finished it, stopping before 6 years had passed) We did take quite a few turns when we visited each other though, skipping the mailing part and just hot seating it... Gary Grigsby, Sid Meier, those were "the good old days"
  11. The gold cards are no longer required for 100% completion. Gold Cards are now only for additional Collection Bragging Rights.
  12. HBO/Max - Tokyo Vice: white guy wants to be a news (print) reporter in 90's Japan. Gets involved in seedy underworld plots and stuff. I love Ken Watanabe, I'll try it. Episode 1: Ken is on-screen for about 10 seconds. The rest is largely setup/chr. building for the youthful main character. I found it well shot/done but kinda slow/boring. Main chr. initially not super likable/a tad annoying but earnest. It's just that most of the supporting/side chrs. come off as more interesting. >.> Episode 2: Ken is on-screen a little longer but not by much. >.> Still kinda boring, but the Yakuza turf war stuff may get more interesting. I don't mean in action way, it's not that kind of series. I think. I think Ken is supposed to become more important in the series/with the main chr, so going to watch more and hopefully Eps. 3 will be the one.
  13. I am unable to get multiplayer to work at all on my Nintendo. Game runs beautifully. Cross play is enabled and I can see my friends game but when I try to join the game just says there is a connection error or the game just flat out crashes and I end up on the dashboard. I cannot host a game either. The game just crashes. Latest update hasn’t made any difference. Am I the only one? other games work perfectly on multiplayer. And my network settings are all fine. My console is NAT type A so I don’t think that’s the problem.
  14. Yes it is lots of unnecessary drama and outrage and Biden is right The US cant provide the same support to Israel for the Rafah military campaign without a proper humanitarian plan for the Palestinian civilians And despite discussion around this Israel has not provided a satisfactory plan for this so the US must do something like suspending this type of military aid, I dont know how much of difference it will make but its symbolically important
  15. Patch 1.4.2 breaks my game. Got the same issue since last Patch 1.4.2 on PS5. Just building a medevial castle and can no longer place items around a specific area. Looks like a problem on collision calculation of an item that prevent placing others close to it.
  16. Not sure if this has been mentioned in here before, but a sequel to the Orphan Black sci-fi series is coming out June 23 on AMC. It stars Krysten Ritter of Jessica Jones fame. I enjoyed the original, particularly the remarkable work of Tatiana Maslany who simultaneously played more than five different and completely unique characters, so I'm looking forward to it.
  17. Prior the patch, I had no collisions or "Location Obstructed" issues building above a certain elevation against the tree. Now I get them constantly in both my single player and multiplayer saves. Its not all build able items. I can place a flag at that elevation as well as some bug mounts. Also grass planks and stem scaffolding seems to be unaffected. Other objects are untested. Moving objects still shows location obstructed even if overlapping or not. Platform PC(Steam) Is this an isolated event? Screenshots provided for context.
  18. I have three old Avalon Hill games I 'inherited' from my dad- Gettysburg, France 1940 and 1776. Plus three years worth of Strategy & Tactics magazines (76-78) mostly still with the games that came with them. Guess the excellent Sid Meier's Gettysburg covers a computer version of one of them at least; and I'm sure I played another good Gettysburg game a few years ago too but cannot remember the name for the life of me. I am grateful I'm too young for SPI's Campaign for North Africa; I'd never have been able to resist buying it for the memes. Then again, nowadays simulating Italians needing more water supplied because they love pasta (an actual factual rule of the game, for anyone wondering) could be done a bit more simply via computer.
  19. Pinecone roof pieces randomly rotate 90° on previously built structures. Prior to 1.4.2 patch I was able to correct the pieces to original placement. I am no longer able to fix the issue. All of the roof pieces that have been shifted show “location obstructed” when trying to re-position to the original location.
  20. I am unable to unlink my Xbox Account from Grounded in order to put the correct one in HOW DO I DO THIS?
  21. Just to continued a conversation from a blog post... @kanisatha Thanks for the heads up. Sadly, I only have two of my old boxes of Avalon Hill games that survived more than two decades of constant relocation left, being "Flat Top" and "Wooden Ships & Iron Men". I always hoped those would some day get good computer game adaptations. The former being especially "taxing" by the sheer amount of literal paperwork involved. For some good free PC games designed by Gary Grigsby, the current IP owner (Matrix Games) have made "Pacific War" and "War in Russia" (WWII games) available for download for free. Even if designed in the Dos era of PC's, they ran on Windows 11 last time I played them. Took a moment to mentally separate SGS from an old favourite of mine, SSG (Strategic Studies Group), who made the first 4X game I played in the mid 80's, "Reach for The Stars". Sadly Microprose is no longer what it once was. They made some great strategy games besides flight sims, going back to the early Commodore 64 days and up to the PC era. Edit: Being part of my gaming experience on both C64, Amiga & PC Today I play a few older Paradox titles, like Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 3 and Hearts of Iron, as well as a few of Matrix Games titles, "Gary Grigsby's War in the East" and "Gary Grigsby's War in the West". I will check up on the SGS games though edit2: Something I didn't mention is, I still play a lot of the old C64 and Amiga games on emulators. Mostly a few SSI games on the C64 and an Amiga version of the Battlemech board game (yes, turn based on a hex pattern map, doesn't get better than that!)
  22. Manor Lords - I don't profess to actually understand detailed mechanic workings, it's all too obscure/inconsistent/glitchy perhaps, but you do stuff enough times and you figure out what works. Hence, I have reached the point where I can restart, get to 600+ population, and then get bored. At least in terms of sandbox. On the one hand, I appreciate I can grow at my own pace. On the other hand, when there is no reason to keep growing (especially since the multiple-region stuff isn't it) outside of "town painting" a region, no risk or buildup left to do (I can literally walk away for hours and it runs itself with no problems) apparently for this game, 600 or so is the magic "I'm done" number. I've barely tried the combat. It sounds way too buggy with perhaps too dramatic a difference between too easy and irritatingly rushed.
