Given the current Epstein news perhaps the weird parallels to the Pinochet regime and Colonia Dignidad are a sign from up high:

Trump has announced a new fleet of US battleships: the Trump class. Yes, battleships, the class of ship that has been obsolete for 70 years and defunct for 20. The first ship will be the USS Defiant, and be launched in 2.5 years time. I was so very tempted to put this in the funny things thread instead as there's literally nothing about the announcement which isn't hilarious. Trump class? funny. USS Defiant? funny. 2.5 years to build a 30000? 40000? ton ship, and with no actual design yet? hilarious. Should have hidden those intel reports about the Nakhimov finally having its refit finished, one suspects. They haven't even built the weapons systems he wants put on it yet so another Zumwalt type catastrophe of having a weapons system with no ammunition made for it would be on the cards; if it weren't obviously going to be cancelled by the next President without any work having been done.

the leaked email which were the impetus for the current 60 minutes bruhaha specifically references your déjà vu. "CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that “low point.” By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones." ... just as an aside, 'cause the point keeps being ignored/overlooked, but the people sent to cecot by the US were not deported. w/o due process we transported residents o' the US to a dystopian hell hole where they were to serve sentences for an indeterminate duration. we paid a central american dictator millions o' dollars to incarcerate and torture people-- not deportations. trump correct recognized that americans wouldn't care if he made theatre outta cruelty as long as those suffering were part o' a disreputable them. a few hundred venezuelans? so what? they were possibly gang members and they weren't american citizens regardless. virtual nobody were gonna rush to the defense of them. additional aside bob dole literal fought nazis in europe. this generation is increasingly nazi curious? HA! Good Fun!

Just did another test. 2260 damage without monocular target finder on, 2273 with it on. It made a difference of 13 points. Was a fairly close range shot so I assume the minimum benefit was applying... but it seems like it's adding 10% of the weapon's base damage at the tail end after all the sneak stuff rather than a 10% boost to the overall hit. Though.. adding 13 damage when the shot is already hitting for 2260 seems a bit on the pointless side.

Following this quest line to the warehouse in the Archives Underlands where the two Aunties Choice representatives are arguing. The warehouse contains the quest objective and two rifts. Both rifts require activation to obtain the quest objective. When the upper rift is opened, it blocks the walkway outside the lift with debris. However in my game, the walkway is blocked whether the rift is open or not. Opening and closing the rift renders the debris visible or invisible but the walkway is always blocked regardless. The bug breaks the quest as the objective cannot be accessed.

I had this happen on two or three playthroughs. If you reload a save they should resume spawning. At least, that worked for me. -
Sometimes guns that I've put silencers on use the full volume sound effect when shooting. I'm sure it's just an audio glitch since the enemies don't all immediately go into combat. It is, however, kind of confusing as to whether or not i'm being quiet. I haven't noticed any commonality to when it happens and it seems to affect all weapons that i've tried to silence.

Adding: Posting faster than my brain can work. I wanted to add that during the dialogue, it's revealed that the player character wasn't "proving innocence as much as identifying the target". If that's true, there is nothing the player does that actually identifies the responsible party. Alva just makes an assumption and runs with it while it really does not feel as if the player's actions have anything to do with identifying WHO actually did any of it.

First, let me say that this is a great game. It's been a really long time since I played a game that didn't have multiple things about it that I found awful. OW2 is truly the first game I have played since... oh... Fallout4 that's absorbed so much of my time and held my interest. (and yeah I wish Obsidian was still making Fallout games but sigh...) Anyway, great job. I only have two very small issues that I feel like griping about this game 1) Doing a stealth melee build it strikes me as very silly that we are better off "backstabbing" with a giant 2 handed hammer rather than a light melee weapon. IMO attacks from stealth should be MUCH better off with a stealthy weapon than a monstrous hammer. (especially if said hammer tends to explode on hit). The big 2h melee weapons should be for out of stealth. In stealth, the knives should be able to function without having to use a sledgehammer to backstab a tough mob. It's just immersion breakingly silly. Reminds me of the old D&D joke about "backstabbing with a ballista". 2) the Patient Step armor is hideous. IDC how good its stats are. I can't use it because those hideous green gloves give me nightmares. (also not sure why an armor set that's great for TTD would have a medical theme and not something more ftting to a gunslinger but /shrug) So yeah, if one of the things I am griping about is the aesthetics of an armor set and the list only has 2 points, you guys did an amazing job.

So I've done the Dorado quests repeatedly on multiple playthroughs so far and I have yet to see anything that even remotely suggests the Proctor's involvement until Alva makes her initial accusation. DId I miss something somewhere or is this just kinda handwaved along rapidly without having any canonical support the player can find outside of that conversation? Even the dialogue acknowledges this sort of slapdash blame with the one option to say "Definitively proved may be a bit of a stretch" or something of that nature. But it really feels like something is missing here. Alva just says "Svoboda did it" and the player has no recourse but to just nod and go along with it. Did this questline get cut short for time constraints or something... or did I miss the smoking gun that points at Svoboda being the responsible party?

Hi all. Beat the game once so far on normal and I have 3 other builds into the Praetor/Cloister phase. Currently playing a VH attempt, which is on Dorado. Anyway, so i've run several characters, at least one of which had maxxed out science skill. And by and large, because every mod (plasma, shock, corrosive, etc) lowers damage by so much it feels like I am better off not bothering to use any of them. Plasma has a DoT, okay but the target dies to normal damage so fast the dot doesn't matter. Shock can stun, sure, but the target dies to normal damage fast enough where a stun doesn't really matter in most cases except for a handful of very tough mobs. I have not tried to use explosive. Corrosive I tinkered with a little, not as a mod rather the burst goo pistol on the first planet which did seem to work really well on Montelli. But yeah, regarding shock and plasma... am I doing something wrong or is there really just not a reason to use them? In both cases they feel like an overall downgrade.

Okay, after beating the game once on normal, i'm going through it again on VH. While leveling i'm trying to figure out what would be the best order to take the perks i've selected for the build. Was trying to decide between space ranger and keen observer as the next buy. So i decided to do some testing to see which one had more effect. I'm on Dorado atm, using a silenced sniper rifle. Crouched, not moving. I line up a shot on one of the Dunsany brother's heads to use him as a test dummy. Fire a shot before buying a perk : 1509 damage. Reload game, select space ranger. Fire a shot: 1719 damage Reload game, select Keen Observer Fire a shot: 1509 damage (the same as not having Keen Observer) So it seems like Keen Observer is not doing anything insofar as boosting weakspot damage. (additional note, i'm using the monocular target-finder helmet, and I did some similar testing with it on and off and it sometimes seems not to add any damage. I get the same damage wearing it as I do without it when that should not be the case if it's giving any bonus to weakspot hits.)

Trump signs executive order reclassifying cannabis, opening door to broader weed access An actual, sensible executive order? Wait, I need to mark this on my calendar. Previously, I thought Biden should have taken care of that before he left office, but having this POTUS do it instead probably makes it longer lasting as a Dem President is unlikely to revert the order. Not that I'm actually in favor of marijuana use, but having it classed as Schedule I drug made no sense. Now law enforcement can focus on more dangerous drugs. Hopefully this act makes it okay for insurance companies to cover pot shops.

Im about 210 hours into Skyrim\LoreRim and its time for another update Im on level 49 and Im very happy with how my level advancement is slowed down. As I mentioned in previous posts LoreRim is about exploration and completing quests because you get limited XP from combat so you have to explore which I love I have also started going back to try to complete hard enemies and I have been mostly successful but 1-2 enemies I still cant beat which is fine LoreRim strongly suggests you dont save and restore in combat and obviously no save-scumming. The main reason for this is because it can break save games because of all the scripts that run. You also not suppose to alt-tab for the same reason. Saying all that I have ignored this and I save and restore and alt-tab all the time and I havent had any serious problems. But what you suppose to do is use a campfire and when you die you always get resurrected in a temple or your last campfire So I always setup a camp before any difficult dungeon, if I die I just respawn outside the dungeon and then I re-strategize. Thats the suggested approach for hard enemies Anyway I decided to go back to defeat Movarth the master Vampire who had been terrorizing Morthal and transforming citizens into Vampire thralls It was the hardest battle I have ever had in any single character RPG but I succeeded after about 4 hours and I just succeeded, I did the following I had all my 4 companions with me for the battle who are Gore, Auri, Remiel and Katana. These are all included LoreRim mod companions with thousands of lines of dialogue and dozens of interesting and varied side quests I buffed up on potions, oils and used summons Movarth has about 12-15 Vampire thralls so I killed them in groups first but I was defeated but I respawned outside his cave. I did this twice to make the main battle easier Finally it was just him and one tough thrall and I used my dragon shouts and normal combat skills and I used a passage so he had to attack me from the front and blocking helped At the end all my companions were defeated, I had exhausted all my potions and I was on 10 health and low stamina but I was able to kill him. Katana has a shade which spawns when she is defeated and that helped me as well As I said, hardest battle I have ever had in these types of RPG And then I have defeated about 7 dragons which are always tough but I have an effective strategy, I see what breath they using and then I buff that defense and use the appropriate oil or spells opposite to that because typically thats means the dragon has a weakness. So a frost breathing dragon is more susceptible to fire attacks. It works more or less but these dragon fights always require thinking and using the right items LoreRim has dozens of unique and interesting features and improvements to make your game more interesting, for example each deity has different side quests and blessings and you need to work on these to advance favour but you can swop anytime to another deity at a shrine if you want. Im currently a follower of Hermaeus Mora and on certain enemies you find these Eldritch Pages that contain lost knowledge for about 8-9 different books and you need 8 pages to create an Eldritch Book and that grants you increased magic benefits. So I am working towards that but its random which pages you find and Im only on 5 pages for 2 of the Eldritch books and the rest are about 2-4 pages And then I just started the Dawnguard DLC, you can only start this DLC once you defeat Movarth because of how hard Vampires are. So I will participate in this DLC while Im busy with the main quest. I am leaving Dragonborn for later but I do go to Solstheim for other quests. I like the whole Morrowind interaction So far LoreRim is still the best sandbox and open-world RPG I have ever played and its highly recommended
