Or were the original Divinity games mere spin-offs or turn-based RPG Sven really wanted to make in the first place? -

Original Sin are just spin-offs in the end. The main line is Divine Divinity -> Divinity 2: Ego Draconis/Flames of Vengeance -> Divinity 3? Beyond Divinity never happened. -

The way it should work is the president should have no ability to literally phone the DOJ and say " you must prosecute this person " and this should apply to any president Prosecutions need to be decided on evidence and whats in the public interest if there are many potential cases because any DOJ will have limited resources Im sure this is how it works in most countries that have a separation of the judiciary from the state? You will still get criticism from the public because citizens have there own opinions around who should be prosecuted but that decision shouldnt come from the presidency

Don't know if I will ever finish the game. Unlike the first game, some of the choices in here really sucked the life(blood) out of me. But looks like the trailer is going to bring back that cut underwater area. There's probably just going to be more 1 hit 1 kill death traps and such in there. Not sure if I really want to. -
Hi, I've been trying to play Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire on my PC but after playing once every few days it will start up and hang on a black screen after the Obsidian and Versus Evil cards. I've tried reinstalling, verifying files, changing the resolution, turning Vsync off, and installing the UK english language pack. Nothing works, but when googling this problem a solution is to try running on legacy mode Legacy Branch 3.7.0.1318 but I don't have that option on Steam. On betas I just have none and the public beta branch for upcoming betas. If there's a code to this version I'd love to get it because I finished a PoE 1 playthrough recently and I'd love to continue onto Deadfire.

I watched my alma mater, the UW, win their first men's soccer national championship today. Woo-hoo! It was a fun match. https://www.ncaa.com/live-updates/soccer-men/d1/washington-holds-win-ot-thriller-3-2-against-nc-state-college-cup-final -

I could see them simplifying the name if they're making turn-based RPGs their signature and just soft-reboot the naming scheme. The name Divinity: Original Sin is a bit of a mouthful otherwise. But it's also fully possible that gameplay might resemble Divinity 2 (third person new Witcher-like), or less likely, Divine Divinity (isometric Diablo-like). I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's got no chance of resembling Dragon Commander. -

Well, it’s not Original Sin3, so I assume it will not play like those. I didn’t play previous Divinity games but from what I understand they were actionRPG. I assumed this new divinity would also be somewhere under his umbrella, though I can’t begin to guess what could it look like. -
They put in a few continuous flow intersections on the route I usually take to pick up my daughter from preschool/daycare. I know I'm dumb but I don't see how it's that much of an improvement, if it even is. There's now extra stop lights to allow for traffic to cross to the wrong side so now I stop a few blocks back instead of at the intersection. Progess!

Do any of you have any thoughts on whether this new "Divinity" game from Larian will be turn-based or action combat? That may end up being the deciding factor for whether I care about it. -
If this is correct, good to know. I was going by what Googling the question brought up, which was that XP is distributed in a split way where some XP situations grant a set amount of XP to everyone, including characters not in the active party, while other XP situations divide the XP award among the active party members.

I am having a huge issue while testing the new content. The game crashes probably once every 15 or 20 minutes of playing. Completely kicks me out and if I hadn't saved recently I lose my progress. Any tips?

Cronos (1992) - Remastered I think you can sort of file this in the same category as the Midnight Mass miniseries as a world where vampire fiction doesn't exist. Also it takes place during Christmas and New Year's, so I guess it's a holiday thing just like Midnight Mass. Anyways, I enjoyed it quite a lot. The scenes of the Chronos device remind me quite a lot of Lynch's Eraserhead sequences, and you can hear Lynch's influence throughout the film. It's very much a Del Torro film throughout, and you can see clearly how this is the guy who would go on to make Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy. -

Wolfwalkers (2020). I'd only heard great things about it, but... It is a gorgeous film, but it was difficult to fully recover from the painful first ~20 minutes. Most every scene felt like it was lingering or outright repeating a few beats too many, I was getting genuinely kinda mad at how poorly edited this felt and how reducing the film by even just...five, maybe ten minutes by chopping off a few seconds from each scene would've helped it feel so much punchier. The script also has a strange way of feeling too kiddie and too adult at the same time, like it can't really quite make up its mind what kind of tone it should have, and I found that...uh, a little weird and off-putting. It could've been great, but I guess it's just one of those movies where a series of seemingly small issues keeps taking you out of it, try as you might. Oh well. As far as wolf movies go, I liked Princess Mononoke better, and I still don't much like Princess Mononoke despite having seen it four(?) times, so... -
You still didn't understood my point. Isekai can be interesting as longs the world is interesting. a "op mc" regardless of gender going into Athas - Dark Sun, Warhammer 40k verse, or etc would be much, much better than the typical medieval high fantasy cringefest. But I do agree that animes with female MCs tends to be better. Even magical ones, see Slayers and Frieren.

Since investigation and inquiry is one of the functions of Congress, one wonders whether the DoJ should have been placed under the legislative branch (but allow the President to select the leader)?

BG3 doesn't split XP, you're on the same levelling curve whether solo or with a party of six and XP is synced such that any party member with less XP than your main character will be brought up to match them. Note this doesn't work in the reverse, so it's possible to get companions that are higher level than the player character (though this is only really likely to be seen when speedrunning). For the most part, it also attempts to prevent double-dipping on XP, in that if you kill an enemy after talking your way past them, they won't award any kill XP. Yeah, this catches out a few people and is a bit of a silly outcome. I think it's an engine limitation - enemies can't go through zone transitions so the ones outside can never reinforce the ones inside and vice versa. That limitation also means the optimal solution is to fast travel out from the indoor area so you can engage the outdoor ones from a safer distance. (It's also a bit dumb that two of the leaders can be assassinated properly with the camp remaining neutral, but one just sets an unavoidable faction-wide aggro flag) Speaking of engine limitations, the text-only "books" in the game are a pretty glaring one. The system doesn't support graphics so even if you're looking at a map or a drawing, you just get text saying stuff like "this is a map showing an X nearby". The D:OS engine has done good service over the years and has seen some nice upgrades, but it's time for Larian to move on.
