Torm51 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Hey guys I am not placing this in the bug section cause there isn't one...its just the game. In my current run I am at the Abbey of the Fallen Moon. So pretty deep in and my load times are getting longer...I am timing them from 10 to 15 seconds. I run a top end machine now and even on my old machine I had this issues with POE (Both machines had SSDs). I am just finding 10 to 15 sec to be slow...Is there anything I can do to speed it up a bit? Have gun will travel.
MaxQuest Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 There is not so much you can do about it, specifically use an SSD with good read speed. Preferably NVMe one. Also it was noticed that the following also does help a little: - sell most of your stash junk. - move majority of your (unused) saves to another location. 1 PoE1 useful stuff: attack speed calculator, unofficial patch mod, attack speed mechanics, dot mechanics, modals exclusivity rules PoE2 useful stuff: community patch, attack speed mechanics, enemy AR and defenses
Messier-31 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Gee, I wish my loading times were 10-15 seconds. 3 It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...
Boeroer Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Clearing the stash helps a lot on my case. Also with the speed of quicksave. 1 Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
Torm51 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 How do you clear the stash ? Have gun will travel.
Torm51 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Oh in game got it Have gun will travel.
Haran Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 15 secs? My load times are 30 to 60 secs, by rough estimate. On my old comp they were several minutes at times.
Torm51 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Ya I guess I am being a greedy ****. lol Have gun will travel.
draego Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) it will be nice when they take away loading for building and insides in POE2. they also claim to have worked on loading times in general. so there is always next game. Edited September 20, 2017 by draego 1
Haran Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Now that I've finished the book I've been reading during load times, I checked and it actually takes 90 secs. But the transitions between areas take much less. 1

Boeroer Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I'm on a 2012 laptop and it takes roughly 30 secs for me to load savegames. Transitions maybe half the time. 1 Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
aluminiumtrioxid Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 No kidding, when I read "10-15 secs", my first thought was "are you kidding? mine take as many minutes". "Lulz is not the highest aspiration of art and mankind, no matter what the Encyclopedia Dramatica says."
pillarplayer Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Great game but this is one thing that's driven me nuts, even just when going in and out of a building, it should not need such a long pause, it really takes away from the game. Oh well!
PangaeaACDC Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Great game but this is one thing that's driven me nuts, even just when going in and out of a building, it should not need such a long pause, it really takes away from the game. Oh well! Impossible to disagree with this. It's by far the most frustrating part of the game, at least for me. Even with an SSD, it easily takes 15-20 seconds on area transitions (like just out of small house to the area you were in previously). This is *the* area of the game I want improved for Pillars of Eternity II. And I'm actually worried that there has been barely any word about it so far. Is this much better in the beta?
