I want to Bang Eder.

I think no one will be triggered if someone want to bang a male character. But if it's a female character and the opposite gender is male.. then the internet go crazy with insults where male should go watch porn or get a life. What have become of the internet? Why this happened?

You know I hope they don't make Aloth gay.  Not because I have a problem with it, but because it always seems to be the effeminate well-spoken character that is gay in media and for once I'd like to see it be the big, manly, macho guy instead.  Plus the hilarity of Iselmyr trying to bed people Aloth doesn't has to be done.

I thought Iselmyr was interested in women though? Aloth would have to be gay for that to happen

Where is it stated that Iselmyr is gay?  Don't recall her gender preference ever coming up.

She flirts with female party members in some banter I believe. I don't think she flirts with any male ones but she never says she's not interested.

I think it was in banter, she flirted with Pallegina? don't remember exactly what it was about, I could just be remembering it wrong but I always thought she was gay, especially considering how both Edér and Durance seem to be interested in her but she never even acknowledges it

Can Substantial Phantom be cast without its shocking effect? Hmm I suppose 30 seconds isn't long enough for some significant canoodling though. Maybe the elf Wizard needs to get busy developing Aloth's Phantom Bed Buddy with a one hour duration.

People can flirt non-romantically but to affirm that someone is showing improvement or on the right path. Guys and girls do it all the time.

Do they? The flirt she gives in banter doesn't seem that way but it may not be a confirmation of her orientation. Edited by Baltic

Iselmyr compliments Pallegina on her fetching feathers. Aloth explains it was Iselmyr. Pallegina says she's not interested in Iselmyr.

Hiravias asks about one time Aloth wanted a ride on the Staelgar. Aloth sounds somewhat distressed and says it was Iselmyr.

Okay it sounds to me that Iselmyr will just flirt with anyone.  I've seen people, particularly women with other women, flirt with each other without it meaning anything, complimenting each other about their features and what not.  There's also the case that Iselmyr clearly likes innuendo, and likes to wind people up, a common practice here.  Hell, half of what she says if taken as flirting and not jokes would make most of the UK gay in my experience.  Hmm, maybe onto something...

In Iselmyr's case it sounds like she's just willing to voice desires like riding stelgaers into battle or pointing out that something makes someone look good, as a counterpoint to Aloth's prudence.  In fact, thinking about it, maybe Aloth is particularly embarassed by Iselmyr because she is trying to fit him up with people?

Iselmyr: "Oh, she looks your type Aloth, go speak with her!  Tell her she's got big **** everyone likes to know they got big ****."

Aloth: "Iselmyr, no!  Pallegina does not want people telling her she has big... assets."

Iselmyr: "Sure they do!  If you don't tell her I will..."

Aloth: *sobs*

I kinda start regretting that I encouraged Aloth to suppress Iselmyr.

I'm sure there's no way repressing a deranged part of your psyche would ever lead to comical outbursts of hilarity and horror, nosirree! ;)

Yeah, I have a very similar reading to Flintlock. She's a spectator of Aloth's life. She more wants to watch someone paralyzed by their propriety start to live a more free life, rather than consume his vessel for her own.

sorry if I am starting a controversial topic. my idea is not to get a flame war started, but I am interested in knowing what is obsidian position to companion sexuality. I would personally like if it was independent of. the player's choice in character. that is a companion will be attracted to a given gender and race regardless of who the player choose as a main character.

also I've notice that many of the female companions are not really conventionally atractive. pallegina being the exception, but with a very unattractive personality. perhaps a more conventionally attractive female character would be aappropriate for our mostly male player base.

Scratch that. We had that back in Dragon Age and I did not enjoy it. PoE was really good in avoiding all that crap, for the most part. The characters aren't models to be gawked at and the game is not a dating sim. Just no. Also that about "mostly male base"? That's a self-fulfilling prophecy if I ever saw one.

Companion relationships are already a reached strech goal. Romances were confirmed by Josh Sawyer.

It's an interpersonal relationship system, of which some relationships can involve an romantic bend to it. But romances wholesale as a mechanic are not and have never been confirmed.

As far as I am concerted "romance" has been hinted at but not confirmed. From what I understand it is possible that in some extreme cases, if it feels right when writing characters some might start loving y u. Of course, love is a wide term and doesn't need to refer to romatic love, though I do believe that was the intended meaning.

It has been confirmed.

Josh clearly said that the companions can develop love through the relationship system.
