I know Chris has spread his wings and moved on to new adventures however I was wondering if the novella was still in the works. If it is when should we expect to enjoy it? I check every so often on my account but to no avail. Some word would be rather nice.

Thanks!

We can read lots of news about Chris Avellone, but nothing related to the Novella. It's weird to see the expansion released before than Novella. I raised my pledge because of the Novella.

Yes...it would be appreciated either way of some news on it's progress or discontinuation.  Obsidian is a well established and professional company so I am surprised we have not been updated.  Maybe I have not been looking in the right places for information but I have tried.

I am pretty sure it is dead in the water at this point, but if it did release eventually it would be nice.

He hasn't made the Wasteland 2 novella yet, so I would assume that the more likely event is that is dead.

It would be nice if another writer, be it Eric, Carrie... etc, would make a "substitute" novella, so the reward doesn't just disappear, although I don't think it will happen.

Well I paid £20 or so for the audio novella,... I'd be really disappointed if it never materialised,.... its a poor show that there has been no word on it since some like me have actually forked out a fair few bob extra for it.

Yes.  I am surprised there has really been no status report.  I realize Obsidian has priorities and for the life of me I can't help but think touching base with their customer base should be up there on the list.  Good news or bad news, I think that communication would be appreciated. Get enough folks commenting here and maybe it will be noticed...not enough comments and perhaps it is not as important as I think it is.  I do respect Obsidian though so I think eventually we should hear something.

I apologise for the necro-bump, but I asked Chris this question on twitter last month and received a prompt reply. I doubt MCA is the type of person to renege on an already made promise!

This is getting a bit bizarre. In my opinion, the release of the white March two should include the release of the novella in edited or unedited form as following the release of the expansion the team will almost certainly move onto other projects.

I guess Chris Avellone Novella never was written.

Now that we are familiarized with PoE setting, I hope, at least, to read more "short novels" in the future, while we are waiting for PoE 2 release  . I liked the 4 short stories.

Been kind of wondering this too, but it was never really the reason to back this game. Just something extra on top of extra. That being said, it would be ofcourse nice to read it at some point.

Imo otherwise Obsdian has done outstanding work crafting all these extra materials, like the documentary, Campaign almanach, Collector's book, PoE soundtrack and Tim Cain's cookbook etc.

Gotta put a bump on this, I really do think that fans deserve an official answer on this one, which has been ignored for some time.  I really enjoyed the game, Obsidian did a great job, but staying silent on this one still is quite unbecoming. Rude even!

admission:  am not the least be interested in the novella.

our pov is colored by the fact that we care not at all 'bout the novella or tim cain's recipes or enforcement o' chrisA promise to play through arcanum. nevertheless am gonna make an observation... take it for what it is worth.

we got no idea what chrisA submitted for editing, but there is little motivation for obsidian to delay the release o' such a thing.  no doubt some posters will posit ridiculous theories, but such conspiracy theories is more appropriate for other boards... or perhaps rt. that being said, obsidian, for obvious reasons, has not risen to numerous chrisA baiting attempts via interviews n' such since his departure from the developer in question. taking the high road can be tough and usually it involves keeping your gob shut.  regardless, until obsidian has been given an option to say something encouraging or positive, we expect continued silence. eventually, if a satisfactory product is not forthcoming, obsidian will need address their failure to meet a kickstarter promise, but for now, silence don't surprise us.

HA! Good Fun!

If it turned out that Mr. Avellone were being negligent or vindictive in delaying the fulfillment of his obligations, that would disappointing. Not because I'm personally invested. I'm new around here, but whatever happened you'd hope for better comportment.

bother?

I guess, besides the short-stories, there won't be any novella by MCA. I doesn't make me sad, 'cause POE itself is like a novella, but some official response would be nice.

I know its the silence on the matter that is under some folks skin, but I will say that the published short stories were really enjoyable. If your waiting on the novella but have not checked out the short stories, they are all worth the read.

Some official word on this would certainly be appreciated.

I remember responding to another thread on this way way back, the day MCA tweeted about having submitted it to the editors. No word since then?

Backers deserve an answer on whether it's coming or not.
