Road to the White House 2016

You guys are right, I have removed the " she deserves it part"

Now do you like her?

No. Besides being a woman - and, as you pointed out, succeeding in spite of it in a very poisonous political climate - she stands for most everything I hate about U.S. politics - corporate backing, family ties and other questionable connections, being put mostly in a position to succeed by others - just like everyone else who runs for anything even half-important in this godforsaken, nepotistic country - and straight up, I did not not like her part in the Obama administration (being a grand part of the "most transparent administration ever", HA), and I have little love for what I know of her politics.

Why in the world do YOU think we should like her for president? You still haven't given any bloody reasons that would actually play into why she makes a good candidate. Because she succeeded at manipulating her way into positions of import, just like everyone else who holds/has held those positions have? :getlost:

You should vote for her  for several reasons, the main ones being she does have the credentials, experience and ability. So she is a women who actually meets the criteria ....she is not some token. That should be reason  enough ?

She's also an ****.

You guys have some weird ideas about Hilary Clinton.  I am not going to vote for her because of her pro-corporate stance and because I'm tired of these entrenched politicians running the country, plus she has not shown an ability to work across the aisle.

She is, however, an incredibly hard working politician.  She went to like every country as secretary of state.  Seriously.  Also, who cares if she is a ****?  All presidents are ****.  That is a qualification.  Jimmy Carter wasn't a **** and look what type of president he was.

"Representing people"

Well, union bosses anyway.

Unions have zero power in the US anyway. I would gladly vote just to see what would happen with a president that told Wall Street to go **** themselves.

Unions are very powerful at local levels, for better or worse.

Here they pretty much dictate the labour market completely. Even with support of a President, they could never get the same kind of power in the US since it would most likely break quite a few laws. That's why it would be a at least a fun ride to break the current status quo.

Really depends on the local levels.  Right-to-work states generally speaking have very weak unions (or none at all).

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Correct, California is not a right to work state, so you can be compelled to join a union and pay dues for their benefits even if you don't agree with the union/union heads/direction of the union or else lose your job.

Jimmy Carter wasn't a **** and look what type of president he was.

I wasn't born until he was out of the white house, but from what I gather, he was ahead of his time and underappreciated, and has one of the highest hidsight approval ratings in presidential history.

I think part of the problem was that a LOT of his policies took a while to dial in. Meanwhile Reagan's campaign winning line was "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" Which the Republicans/Romney tried to pull off on Obama to less success.

Hilary Clinton of course, she rocks and its time the USA had an appropriate women president

I am just disappointed that most of you guys don't seem to like her? Why is that

Because she's a liar and a crook without a shred of integrity. Also it seems insane to me to vote for a position that affects almost everybody based on the candidate's sexual organs.

Really surprised so many Americans in this thread are Socialists. I mean I expect that from Europeans.

There'd be a fair few Ron Paul supporters here as well, probably more than average. Maybe not so many Randies since he's more mainstream. The main candidates from either side certainly don't look too appealing though, and there will usually be more support for fringe candidates on the internet anyway.

Barti...you should vote on the side of righteousness and advancement ....vote Clinton  dancing.gif

Unless Bill is her VP and he plans on assassinating her on day 1 of being president, I don't think so. He may or may not be morally bankrupt, but at least he was a decent president.

Considering that he helped escalate hostility between the US and Iraq, expanded the insane self-destructive drug war, lied to the country about his affair, and signed DOMA into law; no, he was a terrible president whose popularity is a testament to how poorly people judge politicians.

Personally I'm hoping for Rand Paul. He's far from perfect, but I can't be too picky or else I won't even be voting.

"Good thing I don't heal my characters or they'd be really hurt." Is not something I should ever be thinking.

I am marginally supporting Rand Paul. Much as I like Ben Carson and Carly Fiorino I don't see the sense in giving someone the top job in politics who have no experience in politics. I'd vote for Scott Walker too if he gets nominated. Any of the others, no way. An hell will freeze solid before I ever cast a vote for one of those miserable, filthy, freedom hating democrats.

But to tell the truth beyond judicial appointments (which is a big deal) whoever is in the White House will matter less than who is in congress.

Yeah, one more term for the Democrats and it's almost a certainty they'll replace one of the old Conservatives on the Supreme Court. Then good bye to the Second Amendment. It's almost enough to make me vote for the lying Republican scum.

Yeah, I doubt that.  They can't even get a background check through.  You really give the democrats way too much credit.
