1. Public ceremony means both ending in K1

2. Private conversations means something like the conversations b/n Luke, Solo and Lea after destroying the Death Star in ROTJ

I vote neither.

For instance, if they wanted a dark ending, a good one would be where you finish off the final boss, and...

***BEGIN CUTSCENE***

Your characters wipes his forehead and deactivates his lightsaber. Suddenly, all the doors to the arena-like room open, and we see dozens of Sith Jedi (not Apprentices, mind you) with lightsabers activated. Your character activates his lightsaber, and the game ends with them all rushing in at him.

NARRATION OVER A SCENE OF YOUR DEAD CHARACTER AND A DOZEN DEAD DARK JEDI: "He had completed his mission; without their leaders, the Sith could not hope to overcome the Republic. However, it would be quite awhile before the Sith could be defeated forever, with the Republic's greatest hero lost in the final battle."

***END CUTSCENE***

I coulda written it better, but I'd consider that a good concept for a dark ending. A bright ending would be along the same concept (namely, neither conversation nor ceremony, but action).

INTERIOR: STAR CRUISER -- MEDICAL CENTER

Luke wriggles his fingers, makes a fist, and relaxes it.

His hand is completely functional.

He gets up and walks over to Leia. There is a new bond

between them, a new understanding. Leia is thinking about Han;

Luke is thinking about his uncertain and newly complicated

future. Together they stand at the large window of the medical

center looking out on the Rebel Star Cruiser and a dense,

luminous galaxy swirling in space. Luke puts his arm around

Leia. The droids stand next to them, and Threepio moves closer

to Artoo putting his arm on him. The group watches as the

Millennium Falcon moves into view, makes a turn, and zooms

away into space.

EXTERIOR: SPACE -- REBEL STAR CRUISER

While Luke, Leia, and the droids stand, looking out the

window of the star cruiser, two escort fighters join the large

ship. Slowly, the cruiser turns and moves away into space.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXTERIOR: GALAXY -- SPACE

END CREDITS FADE IN AND OUT OVER BACKGROUND

I'd settle for an epic scene for either ending in which it's about a 5 minute cutscene, ala the original trilogy (ceremony on Yavin, Luke/Leia on medical frigate, celebration on Endor) type thing as long as it coincides with what happened in the game.

True, a good game with a strong storyline deserves an epic ending that details what happens after the finale and obviously the epilogue *cough* KotOR *cough* The grand ceremony should be in if it fits the context of the game and the finale itself of course. As for the convesation between party members, that is DEFINITELY a must. We should find out what the party evolves into after the events of the game. If I had a choice, focus on the party would be the priority. In KotOR, I cared more about the party than the galaxy be far. Especially after Manaan ;)

I"m so sick of grand ceremonies and i'd prefer to talk with the characters (and maybe then see the ending of the romance/s) and maybe even see the aftermath. Then again, that's my FF experience speaking out of me.

I could live with that :)

KotOR played like a Star Wars movie. KotOR had a Star Wars movie ending. If KotOR II plays like a Star Wars movie, it should have a Star Wars movie ending.

Yeah it should be longer, the cutsceen for the darkside ending of KotOR was ok but you were only standing in front of like what 20 people? you have an endless fleet if you stand if front of your troops it should look like Saruman infront of his army in the LOTR TTT when he stands infront like 10,000 troops.

whats that supposed to mean? Are you implying starwars isn't cool? The darkside ending was ok but they should have shown the infinite fleet attack coruscant and destroy it like they did to taris and show how the sith conquer the galaxy. For the lightside ending right after the ceremony you PC should be in the beach where the ebon hawk was and all the NPCS are dancing or something and have a FIESTA!!! and you should find out what the NPC's planned on doing. and you should also be able to make out with bastila as a bonus

I was implying that KOTOR 1's endings weren't cool. Do you really think I'd be here on the forums for a Star Wars game if I didn't like Star Wars at least a bit?

No i am not implying that star wars isn't cool. Just stating that if you are the sith lord when you adress your troops wouldn't you adress ALL of them.

That is unless you like to play the telephone game. :)

I thought the DS ending for KotOR was pretty good, but the LS ending sucked tbh. Stop trying to turn the game into a morality tale and let it tell itself. The LS ending was contrived, corny and any other negative word beginning with 'c' (yes I thought of cra...).

I want something like the one in A New Hope magnified a thousand times over.

A huge event on a stupefying scale.

Because from the story so far released, the game ends with either the total domination of the Sith, and myself in particular, or the heroic rebirth of hte Jedi.

And that needs to be a big deal, not just some medals handed out on a backwater arsehole of a planet that no-one has ever heard of, or will ever hear of again.

I want hugeness, grandeur, I want the last scene to be epic.

Oh, and I'd prefer it, like in A New Hope, to be handled completely without dialogue. The final denouemennt and showdown should have made it abundantly clear what the outcome would be, we shouldn't need one more word after the final blow is struck, after the torpedo is away, we should know.

I would've just liked more resolution for the first game. The ending didn't resolve anything - maybe I would've liked to hand out awards to my party members, give each of them a personal pat on the back of sorts at least, and that would've felt finished. It doesn't need to be anything fancy or melodramatic, or even without some, "what happens next?", because that's what makes a good story. No, but the canned, one-size-fits-none-quite-at-all ending didn't work for me. The anti-climactic, totally impersonal lightside ending just sucked. The darkside ending was alright, but it was still kind of short - and I would've liked more feedback than Bastila yacking at me pretentiously. Perhaps they could've done the ending cinematic for the Darkside as CGI where your fleet is converging in military formation on Republic worlds, Bastila blabbing in the background with chatter on the ships about Revan's return, something to make you really FEEL massive and powerful, something to bloat your ego. Maybe you even hear your own voice giving strategic orders...

I would like to see the big ceremony for indications on survivors of the big war or whatever happens at the end, and a private ceremony with your crew to see their relationships all climaxed, or satisfied, trying to find the right word

The big public ceremony is a must if you're Dark Side. If I've just come to rule the Galaxy, I want to see a throng of my minions, extending as far as the eye can see....Like a Nazi party rally, or (as mentioned above) Saruman's army in TTT.

Something like this:

Or this:

I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you

But I get the feeling that you don't like it

What's with all the screaming?

You like monkeys, you like ponies

Maybe you don't like monsters so much

Maybe I used too many monkeys

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
