Sabahattin Dere Posted August 19, 2004 Share Posted August 19, 2004 It was argued on these boards earlier that the Czerka corporation probably was one of the things Bioware left incomplete at the time of game release. You only got to see its 'shell', as it were, but that was without any function, and played no tangible role whatsoever in the story except for the slavery bit on Kashyyk and the hunting license purchase on Tatooine. Now if TSL ignores altogether that Czerka even existed, that will be the confirmation of its being redundant. If it does appear in the game, however, I believe we have too little knowledge to really come up with speculations as to its current state in the galaxy. For one thing, it was backed by Malak, and practically existed as an offshoot of the emerging Star-Forge-Empire. When that's gone, maybe the company dissolved immediately. I hope we do not get to see a clone of Palpatine's empire in this game -so hopefully none of the Sith Lords will be after the foundation of an Empire. With a 'crippled' Republic, and no evil empire in its place, perhaps there will be less space for big companies, but we'll get to see more pirates, smuggling, etc. So in the place of Czerka, we could have big crime lords -who I hope will also contribute to the story, unlike Czerka! True that it didn't serve any purpose at all, but it gave a sense of being in a fictional galaxy. I will be surprised if Czerka makes it in TSL, given the darker tone the devs are shooting for. I think Czerka was supposed to have a much larger role in the game, but it probably didn't fit into the scope of the game. Sony has some American jewels (Radio Corporation of America, Columbian Pictures, major music outlets etc.).
