Guard Dog Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 So yesterday, I was playing a game of Rome Total War 2 when one of my fights started experiencing some frame rate issues. I started the battle at 7pm and at 1.30 am I had 35 minutes left to go of the hour allotted. The Battle was a pretty important one (my capital) and I was winning, if excruciatingly slowly. I didn't have any saves from right nearby, but either way it was not a battle I care to repeat. So this morning I find that my mother had turned my laptop off. (Thankfully I may finally have a home for myself, I'll know Monday) "it was making a lot of noise, and was really hot" So, problem is, I got my OS on a Solid State Disk, and those aren't very happy with unexpected shutdowns. It happened once before and I was lucky when after 2 days I could boot up my computer again. So, I'm sending this message from a different computer, ready to drink my mother her blood. How is RTW2? Performance issues aside? "While it is true you learn with age, the down side is what you often learn is what a damn fool you were before" Thomas Sowell

Gorgon Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I miss archers. The javelin guys can throw a mile perhaps to compensate. There are only siege engines during (duh) sieges. Fine on the face of it, but I miss them. Units move too fast making a coherent strategy difficult unless you are defending and can set them all to guard. You can pause and give orders, but it's a chore if you have to do it all the time. It also looks like crap on my computer. I would'nt advise trying to play it without a newish CPU and GFX. They say it scales well on old computers but that's pretty far from the truth. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

I was leaning towards the latter actually since I still play all the other TW games regularly. Rosbjerg Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 So what does it say about me when I wake up in a shock, sweating like it was a nightmare.. just as I was about to get married in my dream to a nice girl.. haha 2 Fortune favors the bald.

Woldan Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Marriage IS a nightmare for those who dream it and those who live it as well. What I did: for the first time in months I managed to sleep without waking up at least 30 times during the night. I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Rosbjerg Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 That says you suffer from cartoonish, sitcom levels of fear of commitment. So you're saying I should keep having meaningless relations with women, but as I start becoming emotionally distant, use humor to deflect the ever encroaching loneliness .. then hope for a women that will one day burst through my shell of Adonis like good looks and see the real me underneath? And of course all would be well if we stopped there, but in actuality the relationship is doomed because we are both so horribly emotionally scarred, self centered and thoroughly addicted to messing our lives up.. so we never have to face the ever growing disappointment with reality, each other and especially ourselves.. I just now realize I've seen too many romantic comedies. 2 Fortune favors the bald.
