Meshugger
Most people feel self-appointed to whatever cause they believe in. Amentep
I just wish they'd ditch the Guy Fawkes masks. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? Zoraptor
But V for Vendetta was the best movie of all time! Of all time! I hear it even had a comic strip spin off it was so great. Walsingham
Mission Creep: When Everything Is Terrorism I would agree that 'creep' in the use of these terms devalues them, and undermines anti-terrorist action. It's lazy at best, and downright seditious at worst. Officials who indulge are a bigger strategic threat than many AlQ fundis. I'd like to see a couple sent to Gitmo pour encourager les autres. Hurlshort
NSA claims it 'touches' only 1.6 percent of Internet traffic. That sounds about right. They can have a computer gathering as much data as they want, but you still need a real person to sit down and look at it to make any sense of it. edit: And honestly if I am one of those 1.6% who are touched, the NSA has just wasted their time. This is a very good point. Data only becomes intelligence in a given context. The NSA isn't going to be just scooping every porn site you surf, because why would that be important? Right? Well, maybe it would, because even terrs use porn sites, and porn sites sometimes use credit cards to access. Credit cards give either addresses or thefts to track. But the point Hurlshot's making - obliquely - is that unless you try to analyse the data it's just noise. And unless you have an objective for the analysis, you can't analyse. The person he's talking about is just a means to that end. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. Why would NSA need people for preliminary analysis and monitoring? Those things are easily handled by computers.
