You gotta watch yourself there. I worked there for six months and kept a VERY low profile. Where were you?

Most of the time was spent with the bride's family in Taxquena. Although a few side trips out, like the canals of Xochimilco.  The wedding itself was a few days at Tepoztlan.

It's a right to HAVE it, not tote it around with you while it's loaded.

The 2ndAmd is about keeping and bearing arms. Hell, I wish Michigan was like Alaska where open and concealed carry are protected by law. Otherwise you end up with excrement-for-brains LEOs pulling crap like this. I'd fire both of these thugs in a heartbeat as a reminder to the rest of the police force that they're public servants, not our masters. In general, anything that forcibly reminds the cops that the USA is not a police state is a good thing.  :bat:

It's interesting that even our resident libertarian is a bit put off by Tsuga's gun talk.  It makes me feel better about all the eyebrows I raise reading his posts.

I got $500 back in taxes which is a nice surprise.  Though as far as I can tell, mkreku, we do not get interest on our overpaid contributions (not that it'd be much money at current rates anyways).

Most of my return comes from the fact that I get to claim my student loan interest rates as a tax right off, on top of a couple hundred dollars on various donations throughout the year.

Benedict Cumberbatch, will you marry me and be part of my ever-growing male harem? No? .... darn.

In other news ... legal notary visit tomorrow, so I guess I better get to sleep before 4am this time. Also...after being pretty "good" diet wise the past month and losing 4 pounds, today I ate too many mini-chocolate donuts. *hangs head*

I know the devastating costs of healthcare, but are you SURE you should have that many eyebrows? May want to get it checked.

Don't worry. Losing weight is about breaking habits, not living like an ascetic.

incidently, i deal with members of parliament on a semi regular basis at work, and was kinda amused to see that most of the ones i already hated were opposed to the bill

I know....I just ate too many in one sitting. Heh.

I've always annually bounced around in weight a little, usually not a big deal...but the past year or so I've gone a bit past what I consider tolerable. Too much eating out again. So trying to be more careful about what/how much I eat. Not a strict diet per se. Sometimes it's just hard to keep myself from eating "just one more". :)

Also, it's past 4am and here I still am...didn't drink any caffeine after 3pm either. Sigh. Guess that notary will get a bleary eyed stare and stuttering penmanship.

Looked over some interview candidate's C code for the pre-interview test here.  Didn't examine it functionally but lots of bad code like manipulating a constant char * or calling strlen on an integer (that has the length of the string...).  Even worse is that he graduated from my University :p

Trying to catch up on some things and get various tasks dealt with.

But good gawd. I keep having total waves of exhaustion hit and nearly passing out into sleep throughout the day. I've never been hit with jetlag like this before.

Why do these documents always require about 40 signatures from you? Never enough to just have the big pile and sign it once or twice to acknowledge the whole shebang. Feels like if they could, there'd also be a signing ceremony with a pentagram and slicing of palms. At least it's finally done. And don't have to pay May's mortgage payment either. It was amusing to observe that my husband's thumbprint is about twice as big as mine. Time for some tacos and then some playtime.

Probably gonna start hunting for a new job. McD's is just killing me way to quick and it's gotten to the point where eI dread going to work.

First place i'm gonna try is Wells Fargo. Tellers get WAY more than I currently do, and if all else fails after college, I can turn it into a longer term position (supposedly I'd start at $10)

I started walking down the first six schools to get the new DAS systems today to plan the layout. I don't know how teachers do what they do. I was in a middle school today that has a staff of 90 and over 1200 students. That's like herding cats! I don't have kids and my niece and nephew are grown now so I don't spend any time around kids so it just boggles the mind how a teacher can get and hold their attention for the time it takes to teach a class.

I'm finding the schools to be somewhat difficult to work with though. I thought it would make sense to do all the installation work at night but apparently the union won't allow anyone to work at night to escort us and the administrators insist on school personnel, escorting us, not security contractors. I told them doing it at night I could have the whole thing done in one night. During the day it would take 2-3 days. The told me, politely, that was my problem. And it is.

Those can be decent jobs. Had a friend who did that ... now he's the branch manager down in Texas. Which isn't to say you'd want to go that route. If you're good with people tho, it can be tolerable work.

Hubs did the McD thing early on and became a shift manager while working on some schooling. He couldn't stand it either.

But why won't they let you work at night? Are they concerned about the safety of the people who have to be with you
