Chris Avellone is playing Arcanum to raise funds for the $4.0 million dollar stretch goal you helped us reach for Project Eternity. It's installed and he’s ready to start playing – we here at Obsidian wanted to know how you’d like it played!

Let's Play Document for me.  I find it more convenient so I can read it at my leisure without having to commit to a video.

Also: Squee!  My favorite RPG writer playing my favorite RPG! :D

lets play with commentary on youtube, preferably in 20-30 min segments.

Youtube would be the best format for backers to view at their leisure.

i would prefer 20-30 minute chucks or peices of story and interesting things that happen in game cut into a 20-30 minute chuncks with commentary like falkon switchblade said.

or twitch i guess cause i can just go back and watch that when i like as well, with breaks inbetween each hour or so that way i dont have to find the place i left out of some long stream.

Let's play video with commentary, would be awesome.

I don't really care how it goes down as long as everybody learns any interesting lessons with regards to single player RPGs and applies them towards eternity. Which I imagine they will, so good luck.

Just enjoy it. Then he can give his thoughts when done.

In my opinion, the game has weaknesses and strenghts, the greatest asset being the setting and the atmosphere, while it is lacking in character depth. Curious what Chris Avellone's conclusion will be.

I'd prefer for it to be in a non-video format as that tends to give more room for non-game characterization and commentary.

There's already a super high quality screenshot LP on lparchive.org, so I voted video LP, though it'll have to be longer than 10 minute chunks - probably 20-30 minutes instead because there's a lot of content.

Also bring in other Obsidian people as co-commentators. Specifically Tim Cain.

I'm okay with any format so I voted the according option.

 excellent! I voted for youtube videos. I doubt I would catch live streams, and I'm not sure if Twitch lets you rewatch streams later? If it does, streaming would be fine. Have fun, Chris!

Yes, it does

Couldn't they stream it and THEN put it on youtube?

Yeah, that would be pimp.  I would almost never be able to see the streams, and I have to work with REEEAAALLLY slow internet, so 10 minute youtube vids are A-Okay with me.  And if they're organized into a playlist, it's easy to break and come back later.

Ten minutes let's play seems like a great idea!

"What can change the nature of a man?"

Twitch, you don't have to catch it live as you can still see it later (youtube with live streaming!)  We can also comment while he plays.

Stream as long as you set twitch to record streaming and save it (i believe there's an option that makes that process automatic)

I say that he does it the way he thinks is the best. I'll be playing it myself in a few minutes. never played it with mods, so I'll look for good ones.

Document for me. Easy to read in my lunch hour (hour ha! you're having a laugh), whilst I can't watch YouTube from work machines.

Both, use Xsplit (or any alternative) to stream and record locally at the same time. :) That way the YouTube video will have better quality and no possible upload speed hiccups.

I dont mind how he does it as long as he doesnt do it completely blind. I dont mind him not knowing the best quest outcomes or what to do in situations. What I will mind is if he completely gimps his charecter at the very start.

I'm looking forward to MCA humping dat sheep.

I can understand that some people prefer text format, but why would anyone prefer youtube over twitch? Twitch gives you at least a couple hour gameplay sessions that are saved as videos and later uploaded on youtube anyway where you can watch them at your leisure. How can people prefer weekly(daily?) 10-minute pieces to that - I don't get.

If he doesn't appreciate the Arcanum newspaper and the articles that reflect his actions, Tim will be a sad panda for sure!

And I need video to see how he reacts to the ****ty combat mechanics! :))

After my realization that White March has the same XP reward problem, I don't even have the drive to launch game anymore because I hated so much reaching Twin Elms with a level cap in vanilla PoE that I don't wish to relive that experience.

Twitch in my opinion. You can always upload them to youtube laterwith that if you want.

Just try to fix the streaming and so on before so that its high quality and work correctly.
