Sounds like a fun game. Did you perform counterespionage on them? Sounds a lot like my last game, Cyrus made vassals out of people I was warring against, so ended up having to smash him in a rather impressive conflict I only won due to taking out his oil resources and having modern armour vs his tanks, heh.

Not first, didn't know anything about the whole espionage system when all hell broke loose. Collapsing mines and burning fields gave some motivation to look it up alright. I did hit him with 7 spies at once later, just to say screw you. Wanted to drive him to sea the whole game, too bad Willem got the same idea earlier.

Sounds like the cascading alliances thing in Europa Universalis III. You better do a lot of research (or be an almighty military power) before declaring war on even the smallest of miniature realms.

Finished Chaos on Deponia. Repeatable crashes at the ending, so had to youtube the final bits. Luckily, I managed to complete all interactive portions. It was just cutscenes left.

Incredible game. Except for the crashing.

Edit: Going back to Assassin's Creed 3 after playing both Deponia games is depressing. :( I think Deponia is going to go on the list of games that made me stop gaming for a while. I'll go back to books for a month or so.

Dishonored. Great game, but hated the ending. Felt rushed. Stopped me from doing another playthrough.

Looked into SWTOR over the weekend, now that it's free to play.

My lvl 50 sawbones still has her name even after the server merges, so that is nice. With the sounds fethed up for scoundrels though, there is no way I'll play her... and with the F2P restrictions she is probably naked, unable to user her equipment.

My lvl 29ish commando lost her name and probably can't use half her equipment either.

deleted my sith sorcerer to pass the name to my Agent who had lost the name.

My Sith Assassin managed to retain the name.

My ratattaki jedi lost the name and I no longer like the looks of the character... but can't delete it as I'd loose the character slot. Meh.

Played my agent and actually had fun. Did a black talon run and a couple of heroics, which meant that I actually teamed for a change, something I hadn't done in a while in GuildWars.

The community Sith side was terribly immature though. Had to turn off chat whenever I wasn't actively looking for a group.

Tried playing the Guild Wars 2 event. Got so bored during the first part that I didn't log back in the whole weekend. Maybe I'll play for a day next month.

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

Not playing it yet, but it is currently downloading. I promised myself a while ago to at least give the free thingy a swirl, if nothing else, just to satisfy my own curiosity :)

Or you better hope you aren't playing Victoria 2 where your neighbours are Great Powers hungry for land when you decide to help USA recover land that Canada stole from it. This happened while I was playing as Byzantium and being the biggest and most socialistic nation in the world. Suffice to say the other Great Powers jumped in to join as time went and World War 1 thus happened in the 1870ies and lasted six years, resulting in the empires economy completely tanking after it was victorious and pushed a treaty harsher than the Treaty Of Versailles onto the enemies(which was Canada, Paraguay, Scandinavia, Nagpur, China, Japan and several smaller ones). Games like CK2, EU3 and V2 are brilliant for stuff like this. :p

Well at least they didn't make you pay extra for the ability to use a mount. Did laugh at them restricting the 'Hide Helm' option though - why does every MMORPG seem to have nothing but ugly helms, even at high level.

Had a quick test when the f2p came and I could still use all the purple stuff I got while being a subscriber, which was nice.

Hotbars being limited to 2 and taking almost all of my money I had as hostage wasn't that nice though. I had all 4 hotbars full of stuff I really needed and I have nothing nice to say about how they want to make people pay real money to get their game money back.

SWTOR isn't limited to ugly helmets. You know how they got the models for new armors that came in some patch? They had a competition at some school.

It showed.

Gave Way of the Samurai a break and started playing Zafehouse: Diaries. Damn it's addictive and I'm really crap at it. 15 attempts and not once have I made it to the chopper, closest I got was to the correct building with the right clues, only to be killed by zombies in the building.

Right. I can live with that, too. I'm seriously considering dropping my sub, tbh, but I'm hanging on for the moment, since I'm having a general gaming slump (and depressive phase, but ymmv).

Jumped back into a NWN2 game I started months and months ago. I'm currently making my way through the escape tunnel into Crossroads Keep.

I hadn't tested those of my characters who have good equipment. Especially as I am not sure how much currency they may have above the limit. My sawbones Ronja had several million credits at some point and though I spend a lot and gave a lot away when I quit, I am not sure exactly how much may be left and would be seriously annoyed if the money went *poof and away*

Most of your restriction on money and such are to prevent gold farmers from working with impunity. I thought the hotbar restrictions were a bit odd, but can't you use your coins to unlock them? If you were an original subscriber you should have plenty to get a couple things like that, without spending real money.

As for the helms, TOR is actually the first MMO where I like the helms. My trooper helmets were always pretty awesome, and my jedi has a hood so you can barely see his tiara. LotRO had the worst helmets I've ever seen.

All your characters have limit of 350k for credits, all the money you had that goes over that limit has gone to Bioware Vault of Blackmailing, where you get them back if you pay them real money, in the form of subsciption or possibly cartel coins.

Yeah, except you dont get those coins unless you subscipe back.

Really, I thought F2P should be a lure to players, not a wall which says pay or get lost.

The most annoying thing is that the "bonus" coins old subscribers get, they only get if they re-sub. Right now my balance says: 0 Cartel Coins, Subscribe to earn potential 1050 Cartel Coins.

And that is what really pisses me off.

I understand a lot of limitations and agree with quite a few. Honestly, I even agree with the hide helmet function being unlocked with coins - after all it is purely cosmetic.

But trying to get me to return with free stuff and then saying "But to get the free stuff you have to pay" that is a bad joke.

I'll upload a screenshot.

Yes, lets complain about the fact that a company is trying to make money off the game they spent hundreds of millions of dollars producing.

So you can unlock those coins for $15, or you can buy that many for $10, which is the smarter plan unless you get something else for a month sub. Honestly these complaints sound a bit ridiculous, you can literally play through two full storylines, which is hundreds of hours of gameplay, without spending a dime. What do you expect? This game costs a lot of money to run.

Completed the Golden Cat mission in Dishonored. Roaming the place, I found the person I was supposed to rescue by mistake. Didn't alert anyone, got all runes, bone charms and paintings. Went the non-lethal route.

Honestly? They "wasted" most of it on VA. What makes it even worse is that IIRC every ...what do they call those? ...Data something.

Anyway, both in ME and DA about 80% of players skipped the voice over, if memory serves.
