September 15, 201213 yr And if so, what kind? If I pledge 5000 dollars can I design an AK47 the player can bust out and mow down a horde of orcs with?
September 15, 201213 yr Hehehe Aram, don't you have enough guns in your life? :D 1.13 killed off Ja2.
September 15, 201213 yr Author Actually not as into guns at all anymore but it wouldn't be a new Obsidian game if I didn't bitch at them about guns during developement.
September 15, 201213 yr A hand cannon that rapid-fire shoots a dozen very angry hamsters onto your enemy. It shall be called ... Boo's Revenge. Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
September 15, 201213 yr From the way Tim Cain was referring to it as a 'pure fantasy RPG' I doubt it. I'd have loved some steampunk though
September 15, 201213 yr Steampunk makes me happy. Who knows, maybe a sequel will have some sort of advanced Steampunk empire invade. Would be awesome. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
September 15, 201213 yr Agreed. If this game is actually We-Can't-Call-It-Arcanum-2, that would be awesome.
September 15, 201213 yr A steampunkish race or city or dungeon or special weapon at least would be very cool, I hope there is room for it in the game concept. Everyone was terrified of Doug. I've seen grown men pull their own heads off rather than see Doug. Even Dinsdale was frightened of Doug. He used... sarcasm. He knew all the tricks, dramatic irony, metaphor, bathos, puns, parody, litotes and... satire. He was vicious.
September 15, 201213 yr If you watch the video again, you can see those characters in concept art holding muskets and such..
September 15, 201213 yr I didn't pay a lot of attention to the art in the back because it seemed to show a lot from previous games and such. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
September 15, 201213 yr I wouldn't say no to a backdrop of some technological innovations - like guns - subtly making their existense known (I'm quite frankly a bit bored with these fantasy settings that have thousands of years of perfectly stagnant forever mediaval history and future). It would add a nice flavor the gameworld. And if the concept pic is anything to go by, there will be something like that - which is good. Perkele, tiädäksää tuanoini!"It's easier to tolerate idiots if you do not consider them as stupid people, but exceptionally gifted monkeys."
September 15, 201213 yr Wait.. why can't they make an Arcanum 2? Who owns the rights to that name? Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
September 15, 201213 yr Wait.. why can't they make an Arcanum 2? Who owns the rights to that name? Activision if I remember correctly.
September 16, 201213 yr I'd prefer if guns were left out. Swords and sorcery... and guns just stick out like a sore thumb.
September 16, 201213 yr Problem with guns is that it's a way more complex subject with all the physics and chemistry of it, and no one can dodge a bullet.
September 16, 201213 yr I think that steampunk technology if done well is a fantastic addition to a fantasy game. Even more than magic, such technology could be rare and difficult to understand. Your average soldier with a looted musket wouldn't have any idea how to operate the thing, wouldn't know anything about gunpowder or how to make it, what about cleaning or other maint stuff? Of course he'd just prefer his crossbow. But if one of your characters is a craftsman or tinker/engineer type character he can perhaps figure it out and use this technlogy for your party. An Arcanum-like technology vs magic story could really be incredible. I doubt the main game is going to go this way, but I'd love to see an invading steampunk nation or hidden society (think fantasy Brotherhood of Steel?) as a major chapter or side quest or even expansion material. If steampunk is too much for some people I'd be happy with musket and blunderbuss wielding pirates somewhere in the game. Which brings me to my next random thought, forget houses man I want a ship.
September 16, 201213 yr I wouldn't mind an arquebus, built by a mad wizard that utterly fails to do anything but blow up in its user's face
September 16, 201213 yr On the assumption that this is a 'straight and narrow' high fantasy, I wouldn't mind a gun or two if they were obviously a joke. A late game item you can only get at the end of some ridiculous quest. In that case I'd be well up for mowing down a hoard with an AK. Who knows though, the setting might mean guns work. But overall I'm not keen on the idea.
September 16, 201213 yr An odd gun created by a faraway and unknown person named Jan, which uses a particular cultivar of turnip as ammunition. The KS Collector's Edition does not include the Collector's Book. Which game hook brought you to Project Eternity and interests you the most? PE will not have co-op/multiplayer, console, or tablet support (sources): [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Write your own romance mods because there won't be any in PE. "But what is an evil? Is it like water or like a hedgehog or night or lumpy?" -(Digger) "Most o' you wanderers are but a quarter moon away from lunacy at the best o' times." -Alvanhendar (Baldur's Gate 1)
September 16, 201213 yr That concept art picture of the guy with the rifle is intriguing. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
September 16, 201213 yr Early guns are at the same technological level as platemail. JESawyer is a history buff. It's certainly possible that this game could include guns without being steampunk. Edited September 16, 201213 yr by darkpatriot
September 17, 201213 yr Author Let's get down to brass tacks. How many dollars do I have to donate to get a .45 added to the game.
