Peace Walker was originally titled 5. It even showed up as 5 on the teaser site. The series has 3 protagonists and at least 2 time periods. Introducing another character wouldn't be impossible or making it a prequel/interquel. And that's not discounting the possibility of just extending Snake's life a bit longer.

Why extend his life when you can just clone him.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

I just recently checked out the beginning of MGS3 and found the writing hilarious bad, unfitting and pseudo-philosophical. I just want to start the damn game but I am listening for 10 minutes to two people talking about the sense of being a soldier. Urg. Granted, MGS always was like that, but to me it feels like they really took off a little bit too much since MGS3. Way too long cutscenes, pseudo-philosophical and soldier depressions (war romantic?) or something like that. Eh...

Just saying. I don't think I would need a MGS5.

Kojima already said Project Ogre is going to be an open world affair, and less cinematic than it's predecessors.

It's looking pretty damn good.

You can watch that whole thing now on youtube.

I thought the presentation was totally underwhelming. Too limited options in combat, and the whole game feels more like a cartoonish theme park. I thought X-COM was supposed to be creepy and tenseful. Well, maybe the inevitable demo is going to change my mind.

Aesthetically the old x-com games never looked very creepy either, it was all sound effects and the impending doom of your agents who'd you'd invested so much time in. The live feed was played on normal mode with agents that had some experience, but a couple did still go down pretty quickly when caught in a bad position, I'd imagine on the harder settings with iron-man on there will still be some tense moments. Whether the new game will actually be as fun or have the longevity is anyones guess but the game is looking better than I thought it would.

Gotta agree with Morgoth (aside from the "cartoonish" part, which doesn't really concern me). The core gameplay looked nice, although a bit lacking somehow, but I got this weird apologetic feeling from the devs that it all appeared so easy. What with all the "Oh, he missed! That's XCOM for you!", "This isn't really this easy, we're playing only on normal" remarks, and that it actually did look like a cakewalk (somewhat unexpectedly to them, as it appeared to me).

Nonetheless, not going to pass on this one.

I hope for a real playable demo, because watching the first 5-7 minutes of this was painful. The constantly jumping around camera and unnecessary change of perspective ruined the experience so far. Might feel differently when getting your own hands on the keyboard/mouse.

Looks like they've given in and decided to make the fans happy..

David Bateson Returns as the voice of Agent 47.

After a long search IO Interactive are pleased to unveil that the voice of Agent 47 will once again be acted by David Bateson who has been the voice of Hitman since the year 2000 with the seminal PC release Codename 47. Alongside Bateson, William Mapother (star of hit TV series LOST) has performed the motion capture work for Agent 47 which was recorded at Giant Studios.

Speaking about the decision to return to Bateson after the studio earlier declared he wouldn

Good news! Was really poor of them to just drop them originally as they did. Since we know Diana buys it, I guess her voice actress not returning isn't as much of a letdown, but still why not get her back as well :p

I loved what i saw, because it reminded me of Valkyria Chronicles on top of all old games. So I may even buy 2 versions, 1 pc and 1 for ps3.

I never said i'd buy them at the same time. I'll probably buy Ps3 version first and play that. Once i get my PC upgraded i'll get PC version.

Uh, the developers have stated this, said it was a big decision and all, so not a spoiler at all.

Rather disappointed that she does die though, she and 47 (and I guess Smith) were one of those nice constants through the series.

Finished Arcanum. With more polish (in the form of a slightly less bloated and more balanced character system and less bugs) and shorter dungeons, it might be the best RPG I've ever played, since it manages to mix the cohesive, consistent tone of a title like Fallout 1 with the scope and intricacies of Fallout 2, and adds to the table a really good setting.

Pity the story is not as good as it promises at the beginning, but still, even with all those flaws, it was a really great game. Loved the expansiveness of it, the art style, the music, the quests, and the writing (save for some parts of the main story that felt a bit weak).

Yeah, imagine if they had more than 6 people or something to make it, so that they didn't have to skimp on the later areas. Also just really needed a few convenience fixes, like for item swapping with followers, stacking items, and fast travel for technologists.

Coz if the developers said it, it's not a spoiler, roight. >_<

Ok, I'll withdraw my earlier objection, begrudgingly. :p
