Downloaded and installed. Will now stare at the sun to pass the time until I get home from work tomorrow.

I found Torchlight 1 pretty boring, and TL2 seemed similar.

TL2 isn't even out yet, so that's a rubbish claim, unless you beta-tested?

The fact of the matter is, all Diablo clones (including D1 and D2) are boring single player. Some of them last longer than others, but I think you need to possess some obsessive-compulsive skills to finish Diablo clones in SP.

Somehow, the magic occurs when you add people.

Got a copy because I sprung for the WoW annual pass... dling now.

At least I start with a friends list via real id

tried it during the open beta weekend and found the monk and wizard quite fun

picked up a physical copy this morning and installed it and just waiting to play

Titan Quest wasn't. It was better with multiplayer, but it was pretty good single player as well.

**** Diablo 3. I preordered 4 copies of Torchlight 2 so me and my friends can play a true sequel to Diablo 2 instead of this Activision bull****.

Yeah, take your important stance on true faith in video games! You go girl!

LoL see you in D3 next week.

Way back when the Annual Pass thing was first announced I thought to myself, yeah, may as well, not like it'd cost me anything. But I waited a couple of days and on reflection decided it wasn't so great a deal - it'd lock me into a game which in the timeframe may well see no new content but would nevertheless be paying for, in exchange for a game that costs less than 4 months subscription anyway. I think I made the right choice in hindsight - pretty much bang on six-months after, I'm without a WoW sub and without D3, and not feeling like I'm missing anything.

It's no doubt been a success for the devs on both teams however - they've managed to stop the "subscriber bleed" KPI for the former game and can claim numbers are absolutely steady, even if a significant subset of that subscriber base have just prepaid for something they no longer actually play.

And for the record, I like to explore and take my time through the first run through. Everything else is a lootfest:)

Choice quotes:

"truly awful game obvios wow ripoff 0/10 pls dont copy other games pls"

"Shame on you Blizzard for making me spend my money."

"story stinks with misogyny. Satan is a woman?"

"I waited 37 years for this!?"

"worse than the holocaust"

"the game is unbeatable because of error 37" (error 37 is a server error, it means you can't log in)

And my personal favourite:

"Guys, don't buy this. You can't play as Diablo"

I hate you all for playing while I stare at the clock on my desk watching the seconds tick by before I can leave.

I can't even pick up my copy until tomorrow afternoon!

What made you go with a physical copy? Just like having an actual product for your monies?

Store had a preorder special. Quarter off the price, and I bought copies for other people as gifts. That added up to quite a bit cheaper. I'm a broke student who just had to buy a new laptop because the old one literally broke into two pieces.

Woo, all downloaded and ready to play tonight. Well assuming the servers are up.

People in Asia already in Hell difficulty. lol.

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.

Did you ever wind up buying the game LC?

No, not yet. I'm still waiting to see what my initially disillusioned friends say about the later game. Known them forever and I trust them...if they they think it's awesome & I'd like it in later stages, then I'll consider it. Altho, I'm half-tempted to right now, tho, just for the AH. Don't care about the money...just the challenge of gathering/selling. Mini-gaming. It was fun in WoW and I was pretty good at it.

Paranoia be damned, my battletag is Labada#2961. I'll be on in an hour or two.

Me and my wife ordered it today from Amazon UK. Will be maybe two weeks until we get it, but given that it was over 30% cheaper it is worth the wait.

When importing a physical product from England to Sweden is cheaper than buying a digital download directly from the publisher, something is very wrong.

I love Diablo. Friend me, my tag is earlier in the thread. I am Hackmaster the Barbarian on the US server, I will make a Demon Huntress on the Euro one later.

DIABLO! FiGHTinG iN TunnELz FTW!!!

I'll get it when it's cheaper. Is the story and writing any good in this one?

^ Hey, it is what it is. The narrative is fairly simple but I like my character's gruff persona (barbarian).

But it's OK. The music and visuals are nice, the combat is exciting.
