Nightshape Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Yes... Yes it does. I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!
Undecaf Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Holy moly, the game looks phenomenal. Indeed it does. Way, way better than what expected it to. Perkele, tiädäksää tuanoini!"It's easier to tolerate idiots if you do not consider them as stupid people, but exceptionally gifted monkeys."
cyberarmy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Two KS projects already are delivering even with their alpha footage. Your move Obsidian and Project Eternity At least get a real name :/ 2 Nothing is true, everything is permited.
Keyrock Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Color me impressed. I can't wait to cause all sorts of havoc with my Ork (I'm leaning toward Shaman at the moment). RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Malcador Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I'm impressed. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Majek Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I'm satisfied with this footage. two thumbs up. 1.13 killed off Ja2.
Katphood Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 *jawdrop* Looks awesome! There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.
entrerix Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 they need to get some detailed death animations in that game asap looks like it's got a lot of promise though, i wish i had contributed early on Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
AwesomeOcelot Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Look what can be accomplished when you don't blow 80% of your budget and have 60 man teams working on graphics, animations, and cutscenes. The game looks great, it looks like it has great gameplay, everything is even better than expected. 2
alanschu Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Still early, but looks pretty promising. Definitely gives me some level of Jagged Alliance/XCOM type combat, with a bit more RPG goodness on top of it to boot. How dare they combine my favourite genres!!
Labadal Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 All I can say is that I'm not regretting my pledge right now.
Undecaf Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) nevermind... Must stop drinking, too many misreads.... Edited March 8, 2013 by Undecaf Perkele, tiädäksää tuanoini!"It's easier to tolerate idiots if you do not consider them as stupid people, but exceptionally gifted monkeys."
Mamoulian War Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Never heard about the PnP game here in this forsaken third world country so I have missed the KS, but that Alpha footage was one of the most exciting gameplay videos I have seen lately... definately going to buy this one... looking at the preorders now... Aiddon Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 awesome stuff. Does seem a lot like X-COM when fighting comes up. Weisman goes into some more commentary about certain elements here: http://harebrained-schemes.com/post/shadowrun-returns-first-look/ Also, I noticed that the pre-order page on the official website mentioned the Berlin DLC.
Tigranes Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Just preordered the basic game. It looks really, really good. Sadly the AI seems as dumb as ever, but that's a problem in just about every game... Purkake Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Just preordered the basic game. It looks really, really good. Sadly the AI seems as dumb as ever, but that's a problem in just about every game... From my many years of armchair game development I seem to remember that AI is one of the last things to get done, so maybe it was a placeholder?
alanschu Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 It's still early for sure. That they called out how stupid the AI can be is a reflection that it's probably still in progress as well.
Oerwinde Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I had regretted missing out on the kickstarter, that footage made me preorder. I've bought more games on Kickstarter in the last 6 months than I have from brick and morter places in the last 3 years. 2 The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Majek Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Aren't they talking about how proud they are about their AI? Add it's not like everything could be shown in alpha. 1.13 killed off Ja2.
Keyrock Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 For the most part, I thought the AI was pretty good. There was the one part where the guy ran up to the character while healing himself, which is what was being made fun of, so obviously there are still some kinks to work out. Other than that, though, I though it responded quite intelligently, using grenades, seeking cover, etc. RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
