pmp10 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Recent interview with Volition producer Greg Donovan where he talks about Saints Row The Third.. "We thought why give the players a baseball bat when you can make it a giant sex toy to beat people up with?" So I think we can say they're keeping to that element of being a bit silly with it... Speaking of which: . And it gets a giant WTF from me. The last thing I want is for this game to go style over substance.
Labadal Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Playstation Store is up. Crazy traffic right now so expect a lot of errors. Did manage to download Final Fantasy VI, wich was the most important thing for me.
sorophx Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Final Fantasy VI you don't have a cartridge with that and a working SNES? for shame Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
Labadal Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Being able to play it on my PSP on trips is a dream. The game is my favorite of all time.
sorophx Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) could never beat it... but I was young and stupid, couldn't understand the game's mechanics. actually, the only Final Fantasy games I had been able to finish were 8 and 10, both with in-depth guides, on my own I could never figure out how to evolve my characters Edited June 2, 2011 by sorophx Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. sorophx Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 you know how in FF8 you had to attach magic to your chars to make them truly powerful? every FF game had a similar system that I, a 13 year old ***, couldn't get a full understanding of. so at some point I would hit a wall, because my characters were always too weak. I also could never guess if the bosses had exploitable weaknesses. I should probably mention that I usually played Japanese imported versions, though Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Tale Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) It was pretty easy. Just put random junk into open slots and you could still win. VII and VIII both had no real balance. I don't remember IX or X's systems as well. VI was more streamlined and managed to present challenges at times. sorophx Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I tried beating Sephiroth with my party at least 10 times before giving up. I still have that save game, but I'll be damned if I ever load it Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Tale Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) I don't even remember the first Sephiroth battle, the one with multiple parties. But they were both pushovers if you could remove wall and had omnislash or knights of the round. Games that focus on combat shouldn't really have abilities that kill the final boss in one attack. I can understand a social RPG or an adventure game, but... Edited June 2, 2011 by Tale "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Calax Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Well, one thing about Knights of the Round was that you had to dig it up in a long quest. I much liked VII's system over VIII and X, as 8's system was just so annoying with the draw system and so on, and X's sphere grid was just... boring. also, Duke's got his Launch trailer (NSFW) http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/06/02...ler/#more-60975 Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Morgoth Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 So, Konami's pre-E3 show starts tonight (tomorrow for Euroland), I wonder if there's gonna be some interesting stuff. A HD remake of all MGS games for PC would be nice. Rain makes everything better.
Tale Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Daily deal on Steam is Tales of Monkey Island http://store.steampowered.com/app/31170 This was the answer to the question of "what is probably my favorite adventure game of all time." Well, there's no probably to it. If you like adventure, get it now. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
WorstUsernameEver Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Tales of Monkey Island Isn't one enough? Of Monkey Island too? They must be even crazier than our own Tale!

HoonDing Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I think I'll just be sticking to the originals, thanks. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Morgoth Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Meh. Old games are boring. Rain makes everything better.
Tale Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 2 years is old? That's some standards. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Morgoth Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Still the same old game though. Rain makes everything better.
Tale Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I'm thinking you might be confusing Tales of Monkey Island with Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition. But, with you, it's hard to tell. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
