Walsingham Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Great day for work. Had a good singing lesson. Raithe Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Well one of those long drawn out nights of no real sleep..then managed some doze for a couple of hours around 6ish or so this morning. Tis a brightly sunny day.. which in my condition of kind of conscious actually comes across more as glaring then pleasant.. Pondering on when to get a thorough read through of "Killing Pablo" in... Did snap of an email to the US State Department in the vein of "I'm doing a research paper, can you send me information on x subject matter" so I'm actually curious if I'll hear anything back from that while I'm poking around with google-fu skills over the next week or so. Have the small problem that when the family were looking through some paperwork to redo the car's insurance.. we suddenly realised it's MOT was out of date.. by a month..and no-one had realised that.. It's these kinds of things..and the silly growth of expense of it all that make me glad I don't drive. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Guard Dog Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 The house is cleaned up, the fence is fixed, the road & yard have been cleaned of debris. I just got home, dialed up Bob Marley Legends on my Ipod. I'm going to fire up the grill and make grilled chicken for the dogs and a steak for me. Then I'm going to invite Sam Adams out to the porch and get ****** up! Calax Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Spent yesterday afternoon swamped at work (in terms of orders... we had about 1200 transactions in drive thru in the 7ish hours I was there... for comparison they go for about 150-200 transactions as a goalpost for lunch). And got annoyed at one of my friends who's in a program to become a Cop, when he was talking to a currently on duty cop that we knew about working the jail, because basically he said that he can't ever think of treating prisoners as humans. I think he literally put it (as a question to the current officer working the county jail) "How are you treating prisoners? I know there's this whole touchy feely thing going on where you're supposed to treat them with respect and as humans but I can't bring myself to do that." Admittedly this guy is further right on the Political spectrum than Guard Dog, to the point that Fox News is the gospel truth and the concept that Obama isn't a socialist is idiocy (he and his dad have a poster on their refrigerator of Obama as the Joker from the Dark Knight). Is it wrong for me to be scared of this guy becoming a cop? I get the feeling he operates on "Guilty until proven innocent). Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Calax Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Thing is, the friend who "Can't bring himself to treat prisoners as humans" isn't even a COP yet. He's taking courses to get an Admin of Justice degree right now. THAT is what scares me the most, because even if he isn't placed as part of the Department of Corrections, he still sounds like he'd be one of those cops you hear about in abuse trials... or a couple of your partners in LA Noire. Sounds like a psychological testing failure at some point. The cops I've worked with around here have been really great people, but I guess there's a reason Finnish police still scores so high on all citizen polls. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Enoch Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 (edited) Drinking negronis (it is Negroni Season, after all) while listening to the 2008 "Mingus Epitaph" concert. Also watching the cat sit on the radiator and observe/smell whatever is going on out the open window. It's a pleasant evening. Edited June 4, 2011 by Enoch
Hurlshort Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 It's been a long few days, and it will continue until I finish up the school year on Tuesday. Yesterday we had a reward day for the school at an amusement park, and I brought my daughter along. It was great fun and she got to ride on a bus for the first time. Today I had work and then a wedding rehearsal dinner. Tomorrow I've got Saturday School and then the wedding. I'm tired, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel so that is good. I also was supposed to have grades in this morning, but I still have one class unfinished. I'll finish it at Saturday School and deal with the stern look from the grading administrator.

Blarghagh Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Me and my girlfriend just moved, but we've been extremely busy and haven't had time to clean the house properly, and we have two cats. I am allergic to cats, but as long as the house is clean they don't bother me. End result: Sneezing fits that ended in lots of bleeding from my nose.

Raithe Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I'm not sure if its because I'm tired or what.. but I keep fading out on what day it is. One minute I think its friday... then I'm thinking it's sunday... Still, going for a nice traditional fish and chips for ease of food tonight and seeing if I can shake some semblance of mental cognizance back into order.
