GameBanshee preview and interview

Recommended Posts

Was it a newer build?

Also could they play it now on higher difficulty?

Yes, and I believe they could choose higher than standard difficulty, though the build they played was just inherently harder than the build you guys have seen publicly. I didn't really hear any complaints that the game was too easy :shifty:

One guy tried to play on hardcore mode and got wrecked. :)

That sounds good.

Though, is the mode actually titled "Hardcore?" I didn't mind it on New Vegas where it meant additional game mechanics but if you use it here this could sound a little too "elitist".

It's hardcore. It's tuned to be REALLY hard. It kind of is elitist :)

Any chance of including a Hell or Hell mode like in Devil May Cry 4?

There is no casual mode though?

Because in the end. This could generate more negativity than you think and sounds pretty much like the usual casual/hardcore debate which boils down to "I'm hardcore therefore I am more worth as a player than you. Casuals are dumb".

I'm not accusing you of anything. Of course. But I really would have rather seen if you went with something more original named to avoid comparisons.

But seriously, I just meant it from a image perspective/ avoid bad press-

Can't wait to see those interviews. It seems we can expect many projects from Obsidian in the future. Makes me a happy little boy.

On one hand it does, on the other hand.. makes me a little scared about whether they can take on them or not. Obsidz are not Bethsoft or Bioware. Their manpower is limited.

I think 3 projects sounds reasonable. Isn't Obsidian's goal to have 3 projects(big or small) going on at all times? Or maybe I misunderstood(wich is very likely).

With that said, I can understand your worries(WUE). Too many projects could be a problem, but let us hope for the best. They managed to work on Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas (and Dungeon Siege III) at the same time. Maybe we are seeing a new Obsidian that can handle several projects.

That's an excellent preview, going through all the factual stuff first and then laying down his own feelings at the end. Good job, whoever wrote that!

Phil Hornshaw. He's currently working on a book if you're interested.

His blog is a very interesting read by the way.
