Kaftan Barlast Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 It will probably be released on PC once the 360 sales begin to dry out, unless Microsoft are really asanine about it DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. Gfted1 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 NPD Sales Results for October 2010Fallout: New Vegas (360, PS3, PC) BETHESDA SOFTWORKS - 1,117,000 Fallout: New Vegas (Xbox 360) - 679K - Top individual SKU Fallout: New Vegas (PC) -- 107K (Retail Only) Fallout: New Vegas (PS3) -- 331K (via math) I wonder what the PC sales would be if they included digital sales. Is there any agency that reports that number? "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
pmp10 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Still no word as to who develops? Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Obsidian Entertainment, Dead Money will be available for 800 Microsoft points. As for the DLC. I was hoping for something more interesting. You'll notice that funcroc post was edited. But I agree that the DLC doesn't sound all that intresting. Survival rarely provides tension in a free-travel add on and the capture part practically screams equipment loss at start.
Monte Carlo Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 It's not like the vanilla game isn't big enough.

Bendu Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hmm... Is the Sierra Madre Casino set in Sierra Madre?
Orchomene Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 About what Gromnir said regarding TB, I can only say that VATS was already a kind of insult to turn based games. It's a mix between a limited system (no move, no tactic, only shooting) and a cheat (damage reduction). For me, FONV could have completly remove the VATS for what it brings as a playing option. I would have loved to see a real turn based mode, but I don't like ersatz.
RPGmasterBoo Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Who did the companion stories and dialog for this game? Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Tale Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Who did the companion stories and dialog for this game? I recall hearing that Sawyer did Gannon and Avellone did Cassidy. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

LadyCrimson Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hmm... Is the Sierra Madre Casino set in Sierra Madre? If there isn't a Bogart-like NPC in the DLC, I'll be hugely disappointed. ....since I'm still very wrapped up in the original game/GECK, I personally have no problems with waiting a few extra months or whatnot for the DLC to be given to the PC. By then I'll know better whether it seems like something I want. Thanks console people for being the guinea pigs. Hopefully tho, it'll be just as good as my experience with the Borderlands DLC's. “Things are as they are. entrerix Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 if the dlc is even half as good as the bogart film then it will be the best dlc made to date. i assume we (pc) will get it 3 months later than xbox? i'll probably play NV 1-3 more times, then shelve it until all the dlc is out and then play it a few more times with the dlc. great game. Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
Cantousent Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I have yet to purchase 'DLC' for any game so far. If I counted WoW expansions, I suppose I could say I've downloaded DLC for WoW. Just the expansions, though, not the special mounts and crap like. I thought about getting the FO3 DLC but didn't get it. I got one Dragon Age DLC, but it was free with my purchase. At this point I'm likely to get the New Vegas DLC, but I haven't decided. First of all, it would have to come out for the PC. Second of all, I tend to be leery of low priced DLC that play more or less as low quality mods. That's why I've only bought full expansions. I'll be keeping an eye out on this and listening to what folks say. The other thing is, I have no interest in bragging rights. If the game's only claim to fame is that it let's you play in brahmin husbandry level where you have to make a survival check every time you take a crap to make sure you didn't get an infected paper cut on your ass, then I have no desire. If it adds some tactical complexity and interesting things to do and see, then I'm all for it. Irrelevant Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 It sounds like you will need to start a new game to play the DLC. It's not Christmas anymore but I've fallen in love with these two songs: http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=HXjk3P5LjxY http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=NJJ18aB2Ggk
Tigranes Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 DLC sounds fun, we'll see if it uses the medium to the fullest or is just a random quest add-on. It's almost certain it'll see multiplatform release later. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Hurlshort Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I bought DLC for ME2, and that was my first. It was actually pretty good stuff, basically an inexpensive expansion. It helped that the game allowed you to keep playing after you finished the main storyline, I was already going planet to planet finishing up side quests so the DLC was a very natural fit.
Tigranes Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Very Hard/Hardcore is pretty hard when you go off the beaten path - and I'm finding areas that I completely missed the first time round. At level 6 with only a Guns skill of 25 I went down and found a canyon full of golden geckos and radiation, used up a dozen stims and all my explosives getting through it. Was gaining XP too fast still, though, so I pushed all the iXP values I could find down by third to a half. I"d like to only get to level 30 near the end. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Bendu Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 A interesting note from the Fallout wiki: In the abandoned bunker entrance, before the stairs, there's also a sign on the left wall saying: "Gone to Sierra Madre", suggesting the presence of a Brotherhood of Steel chapter in the upcoming DLC.
Gizmo Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) A interesting note from the Fallout wiki: In the abandoned bunker entrance, before the stairs, there's also a sign on the left wall saying: "Gone to Sierra Madre", suggesting the presence of a Brotherhood of Steel chapter in the upcoming DLC. Was that in the game pre-patch? I seem to recall all these signs popping up in FO3 pointing the way to Megaton, that I'd never seen before... Edited November 18, 2010 by Gizmo
