Fighting that spider queen was a pain in the ass.

Well, I'm playing a human rogue. Yes, she is gimped, but I'm still having fun with her. She's a backstabber, not a bow gal, so I want the Assassin specialization... but when I finally am "old" enough to choose a specialization, I find they are all locked. I know that

Zevran will teach it too me, AFTER I find him and AFTER I spend about 20 hours warming him up...

... But is there any other way for me to unlock the Assassination specialization? I'm currently wandering the Fade, and when I finally get out I'd really like those Assassin bonuses.

There should be a book somewhere in Denerim IIRC. Check the merchants.

Will do! I just hope I can afford it. :p

Thanks.

Well you can always save, buy the book (selling everything you own if you need extra cash), learn it, then reload and have the specialisation open.

Yes, it's sort of cheating, but cheating the the same way that overclocking is stealing. :)

Where are you?

Most place you can come back to. Or you can dump off junk that you won't need that isn't worth very much to sell.

In the mountain that holds the Urn, in the dragon caves, near the arcane warrior dude. Problem is, I'm running out of destroyable stuff.

I caved in and bought the game about an hour ago. Currently installing. Can't have that alanschu ends up as 1501 now, can we?

I'll stick to that explanation.

You should be able to go back. I know I went back, but that was after finishing up that plot. I can't think of anything blocking you. A pain in the butt to travel all the way back though :)

Yeah, that's why I asked instead of trying it out. :)

Get the Collector's Edition. It will help my cause more :-

How many versions are there?

The one I got says on the box it has complimentary golem guy and a dragon armour... for mass effect 2 ?!?

Standard, CE and DDE. You have the first. The armor is for DA and ME 2.

As far as I can tell there are 3.

The regular edition (comes with Golem guy), and a standard collector's edition, and a digital collector's edition (comes with Warden's Keep instead of the map and stuff).

I'm not sure what the Dragon Armor comes with. (yeah, a bonus perk for Mass Effect 2. I believe you also get the armor for your character in DA as well).

Sorry, I probably got the standard version then, maybe next time

It was the only version they had in the EB Games store.

Edit: It would probably also have said so on the box if it was anything but standard I assume.

Edit2: Redeemed the code and is currently downloading complimentary golem guy. Didn't somebody mention something about having to manually download a 1.01 patch or so somewhere?

Downloaded and installed the 1.01 patch. Game now adamantly refuses to give me return of investment. yay for first impressions :-

Off to see the official support forums I suppose...

Thanks, yeah that was the issue. I followed the link in the forum post (and dowloaded and intalled the file from MS's website) and the game started nicely. Currently just playing around with character creation, trying out a human noble warrior.

a Mage collective or Chantry board quest, named Skin Deep . You need to bring 9, if you bring 18 you get a bonus.
Chantry board, in Denerim IIRC.

I hope there are more zombies in the game than

Broken Circle and Redcliffe

'cause the former only dropped three and the latter I haven't explored completely before finishing the main quest (damn animated armor! :shakefist:).

I was a bit underwhelmed with the

Dragon armor

too. Though the process of getting it was very entertaining :)

The armor you get from wardens keeps is vastly superior as a whole then the dragon armor. Sure the da has higher armor stats but the wardens armor you get stats bonuses

"I cannot profess to be a theologian; but it seems to me that Christians who believe in a super human Satan have got themselves into a logical impasse with regard to their own religion. For either God can not prevent the mischief of Satan, in which case he is not omnipotent; or else He could do so if he wished, but will not, in which case He is not benevolent. Fortunately, being a pagan witch, I am not called upon to solve this problem."
