Aristes Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down --- Kris Kristofferson
fastpunk Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) I've been listening to Massive Attack's new song, Splitting the Atom. The new EP is pretty hard to find so I'm listening on youtube for the time being. Here's a link: Very morose song, akin to False Flags, also a Massive track from a few years ago. But I like it, and I can't wait for their new album in February. Cool lyrics btw: The baby was born Nettles and Ferns The evening it chokes The candle it burns This disguise covers Bitter lies Repeating the joke The meaning it dies Pass me a coat I'm not a- 'fraid to leave I'm letting you know I know what you need I'll turn you around This beautiful town And then you'll believe it when your eyes then deceive you Its easy, dont let it go Its easy, dont let it go Its easy, dont let it go Don't Lose It Its getting colder outside Your rented space They shadow box and they Paper chase It never stops And we'll never learn No hope without dope The jobless return The bankers have bailed The mighty retreat The pleasure it fails At the end of the week You take it or leave Or what you receive To what you receive Is eternited leave Its easy, dont let it go Its easy, dont let it go Its easy, dont let it go Don't lose it Incandescent light at doors In adolescent menopause In little clicks you got the music stops The needle sticks and the penny drops The summer's gone before you know The muffled drums of relentless flow You're looking at stars that give you Vertigo The sun's still burning and dust will blow Honey scars I'll keep you near Our blood is gold nothing to fear We killed the time and I love you dear A kiss of wine we'll disappear The last of the last particles Divisible invisible The last of the last particles Divisible invisible Edited November 30, 2009 by fastpunk "We do not quit playing because we grow old, we grow old because we quit playing." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Rosbjerg Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 A new Danish band "The Rumour Said Fire" with the song .. Inspired by Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and various 60's hippie bands. I've also been listening to some of Dylan's earlier music, like The Times They Are A-Changin and Beirut's Elephant Gun <- seriously check this out if you haven't heard of them! Fortune favors the bald.
Pidesco Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Beirut - Elephant Gun Pretty good. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. fastpunk Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Peace by Depeche Mode. From their new album, Sounds of the Universe. Can't say it's their best but it's slowly growing on me. The myriad of synth sounds that decorate pretty much every song make it feel like a blast from the '80s, but song structures betray the 2009 production date. What I don't like is that lyrics are kind of... basic, simple... dunno, they just don't impress. To conclude, it's a decent album overall. "We do not quit playing because we grow old, we grow old because we quit playing." - Oliver Wendell Holmes
Oblarg Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Helstar - Benediction The 80s had the best American music, by far. "The universe is a yawning chasm, filled with emptiness and the puerile meanderings of sentience..." - Ulyaoth "It is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built." - Kreia "I thought this forum was for Speculation & Discussion, not Speculation & Calling People Trolls." - lord of flies
Kelverin Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Aerosmith - Jailbait. interesting tune from an even more interesting album without Joe Perry one good raw tracks with a new guitarist that brought a fresh feel for the band, but the drugs where tearing Steven apart at the time so the band suffered, what could have been if he was not such a mess. Blarghagh Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I don't know about that. The drugs were tearing Layne Staley apart when Alice in Chains did Dirt, and I think that's one of the greatest albums of all time, probably because of it. They ended up killing Layne though.
Walsingham Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Gabby Young and other animals. I really like this anarchic jazz female vocals gubbins. It's got a strong driving rhythm that takes away the saccharine tendency. Have a listen. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
