Musopticon? Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Battle Realms is still being awesome, particularly the Kabuki Warriors are an awesome counter unit and have like a million tactical uses. And the story is actually pretty nice. I think I'll even replay the Serpent campaign. I'm kind of stuck, again, in Hostile Waters, but that might have something to do with the rather long waiting periods between resource collection and actual unit field application. They tend to bore me and the game really hates alt-tabbing. There's never enough Soulcatcher chips as well, heh. My Hard difficulty playthrough of Red Alert 2 is progressing slowly but surely. Westwood has done some awesome RTS levels back in the day. Currently I'm shielding Pentagon and blunting the Soviet sickle with some ingenious ship management. Key word of the day: bridges. Also, Ninja Gaiden 2. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. Moatilliatta Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I'll Effect your Mass in a minute. I've waited the entire day to use that one.
Musopticon? Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 lol moar liek Erect your Ass, am I rite? Uh, Homeworld as well. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. SteveThaiBinh Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Nope. Hmmmph. I'll Effect your Mass about 50 hours from now, which is how long it's going to take to download from EA Store. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Moatilliatta Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Hmmmph. I'll Effect your Mass about 50 hours from now, which is how long it's going to take to download from EA Store. Regional/Home based difficulties or does the EA store suck more than I'm capable of imagining?
SteveThaiBinh Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 A bit of both. 7Gb was never going to zoom down on my connection, but other places (like Gamersgate and Steam) are at least twice as fast on the same setup. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Xard Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Bloodlines again after a week long pause Guy who designed that "let's keep zombies in the graveyard and shoot them for 5 mins" quest deserves kick in balls. It is nigh-impossible and at least I couldn't beat it. You're clearly supposed to use the rifle he gives for you (e.g you defend the upper gate and once in a while snipe zombies battering the lower gate) but it only has 4 friggin' bullets in it and it's not like you can buy more. Broken designing. I run between two gates with my shotgun blazing but they always manage to break through one of them when there's about minute left How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Tale Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I hate defense scenarios, period. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Xard Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Especially if it is game with horrible gun mechanics. Gates are on opposite sides of that huuuge graveyard too. Just how exactly is one without that "haste" ability supposed to complete the mission? "The zombie will relentlessly attempt to beat down the two different gates here in the cemetary (one on each end). To successfully complete the quest, you must make haste between each gate and destroy any zombies that are attempting to escape. Since the gates are a considerable distance apart, this will prove to be quite difficult. Only focus on those zombies that are a major threat to the gates (the ones that spawn the closest), or you'll never make the full five minutes. " Says Gamebanshe. How the **** do I know which ones are going to spawn closest to the gates when there are dozens of them all gurgling aroud me? I've tried that "let's shoot only ones attacking the gates" method three times already! Yeah, I trade that mission to Pimpin' for Romero quest immeaditly. But then I don't get the gun... How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)

It is nigh-impossible and at least I couldn't beat it. What clan are you playing? I've never had trouble with that quest, but I've also always done it later in the game. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Xard Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Toreador I have perfect perception and near-perfect firearm skill meaning I'm about as destructive with gun as possible. But when gameplay is **** it is **** DN: If you do the mission later in the game (I've pretty much just arrived in Hollywood) you have bullets for the sniper rifle/whatever I don't have that luxury How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Xard Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 lol Troika ****ed up this other quest too Once you've found a willing subject, she'll express some concern with the fact that Romero is in the cemetary, but a little Persuasion will get her to comply. Run Romero's prize down the streets of Hollywood and back through the broken wall into the cemetary. She should follow you all the way up to the caretaker shack. Except she don't. EVER Whore disappears every time I enter cemetary Seriously, I know this game is known for broken quests etc. but during these loooong hours I've already spend with the game I hadn't encountered single one of them. Now two in a row \o/ How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Rosbjerg Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Mass Effect.. Most nerdy joke in the game is when Kaidan (or whatever his name is) says he's afraid of being considered a whiner, since it's Raphael Sbarge (Carth for you KOTOR freaks) who is the voice actor. I laughed.. then I felt ashamed.. Fortune favors the bald.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Except she don't. EVER I wonder if the True Patch fixes this - once you are done you might want to try version 5.04 and see if that fixes the issues. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot

This way you can avoid this quest. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 WarBook- it's a fairly simple MMO/Facebook application, but for some reason people seem to be really easy to conqueror. Oh well, I guess I just have more experience. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Moatilliatta Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Except she don't. EVER I'm pretty sure that I completed it like that at some point without any speciel patches. Tried googling the problem?
Musopticon? Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I got her in fine as well. I think there was a problem with the quest if the player let the whore fall back too much, she had to be in your vicinity before you enter the cemetery, but that was supposedly changed to less strict in patches. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Deraldin Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I finally beat Metroid Prime 3 with 100% items. I would have had 100% scans as well, but I screwed up early in my run and missed an enemy that only appears once.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Bloodlines - I've just started the second part of the plague-barer quest with a new vamp. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Tale Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) I played Civilization: Revolutions demo earlier. It was good, but I much prefer Civ 4. Religion seems to be a near non-issue. No dealing with workers or tile improvements that I can see. And I didn't see a single city improvement with a drawback. But the graphics are much nicer. And combat is streamlined (for good or bad) with decent improvements. Don't know if I'll get it, but it's worth checking out the demo. Deadly_Nightshade Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Isn't that the one that is coming out on consoles as well as the PC? "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Hurlshort Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I believe it is pretty much designed for the consoles.
Tale Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Not coming to the PC. Seems to be the first Civ game with Meier as the design lead since the original. I guess that explains the different focus from IV. I hope Civilization V is on the board. With Soren Johnson. There's actually some parts of Revolution I'd like to see in a Civ V. Mainly armies. Moatilliatta Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 There's actually some parts of Revolution I'd like to see in a Civ V. Mainly armies. Did they not try that unsuccessfully in Civ III?
