i tried it and it's tyte. And there are indeed aliens. What more do you need to know?

Is it still tyte or is it loose now?

I presume you will use the customary method of execution, which is death by defenestration?

Yes, but we will also defenestrate the vending machine in his wake as a failsafe.

Thanks for the awesome avatar Jorian!

Good idea. I hear Mr. Perez has an uncanny penchant for surviving fatal falls to his doom, so utilising his innate weakness towards falling vending machines is a must.

Still tyte.

So is there any schedule out for when more details about the game can be revealed?

Yeah, I know - we shouldn't ask. But come on, we're curious

I'll reveal some more information about the game right now:

It's freaking awesome.

Does that help?

Actually, it does. It's been a while since I've heard so many game developers have so much faith in what they're working on.

This is a very challenging project to work on for a number of reasons: the "low-tech" future setting, the mix of horror/action from the franchise with RPG gameplay, the social aspects of gameplay that we want to capitalize on, and the technology we're using. In a lot of ways we are free to make our own way, but freedom can be overwhelming at times. Our early work on the game has established a sound foundation upon which we are now building. I think the momentum we have built has made people in the company very enthusiastic and optimistic about the project.

Are forced companions a part of this particular game?

Please elaborate on what you mean so I can answer it at a future date. :(

Otoh, if a designer is writing a story or an arc within a larger story that requires the presence of a certain npc in your party, how else are you going to do it? I guess the important thing would be to not make them count againt your party limit.

Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

It wouldn't be so bad if the "sub arcs" are optional. The problem with NWN2 was that large parts of the main plot couldn't be done without forcing specific companions on you. Once it becomes a choice, I (and likeminded people) seem to be more willing to accept unwanted company for a while. Heck, I always completed Jan Jansens quest in BG2.

That is unbelievably awesome. Not only does it sound like there's a large amount of innovation going on due to developer freedom, but also that there's an atmosphere of passion in those working on this project (whose many virtues I needn't tout). I love Obsids like only a fanboy could.

I'm also glad Aliens (hypothetically) has NPCs.

What makes it tyte is the fact that it's gonna combine blue/red 3D-goggle technology and Matrox TrippleHead2Go, so you'll be fighting aliens running around on your desk.

:ermm:

.. or something.

*cough*.

I'm glad the devs are having a fun time (thyme?) making the game, at least.

Honestly, the "I am a monster!" avatar kicks major ass.
