Deraldin Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 So, Jazz turns out to be a Decepticon spy. I want to say I saw it coming, but I really didn't. There were little clues around and I'm kicking myself for not noticing it, but I didn't see it coming. The entire thing was masterfully done, I'm sure I won't be the only one that is experiencing this. Sounds like the rumours aren't true. I heard that the reason Starscream was always trying to backstab Megatron was because he was secretly an Autobot spy.
astr0creep Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 The Last Mimzy. Expecting another Neverending Story-type fantasy tale, I saw a strange sci-fi film involving time travelling stuffed animals. The kind of Sci-fi that I could shoot in my back yard, with very little special FX, with all the fancy stuff described and explained through dialog. It was actually pretty interesting. 7/10 http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
astr0creep Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Transformers Not pure Citizen Kanish genius but totally awesome nonetheless. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
seejai Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) corpse bride.. it was great and call me crazy but i liked evan almighty ( ya it was corny) .... mimzy sounds creepy Edited July 6, 2007 by seejai "She was short, she was furry, she was loud, and she was determined to sell him a melon"- random passage from Spector of the Past by Timothy Zahn
Kor Qel Droma Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Shooter with Marky Mark. Okay, I'll admit that you've seen this movie before. There's absolutely nothing new about this story that makes it really any different from any sort of revenge flick that's been done a few dozen times already. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it immensely. Extra props for napalm usage. And it's nice to have Danny Glover in a role where he isn't saying: "I'm getting to old for this ****". Now that I think of it, snipers always appear to be extra cool on film. Hell, I even enjoyed Enemy At The Gates. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Walsingham Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Danny Glover is great. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Shryke Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Transformers was cool one thing i noticed though. Barricade just isn't in the end fight at all. It's pretty much just Megatron, Starscream, Blackout, and Brawl/Devastator when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!

It's pretty much just Megatron, Starscream, Blackout, and Brawl/Devastator Yeah. He's shown on the highway and then disappears. Supposedly he and Bonecrusher team up on Optimus, but they get beat down. Personally I think Frenzy was the best part of the movie.
Shryke Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 i have to say, Barricade was pretty cool are you username ladiesman217?! when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!

It was originally a masterful short story written in 1943, with a much darker outlook and strong reliance on the character of Charles Dodgson (a.k.a Lewis Caroll, author of the Alice in Wonderland stories, etc.). If you want the real thing, try to get a hold of Mimsy were the Borogoves. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Guard Dog Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Rented Casino Royale last night. Wow, really good. James Bond started getting stale the moment Sean Connery walked away. But this new Bond genre could recapture the glory. I hope they keep it going in the same vein. Hurlshort Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Transformers was the best action-comedy I have seen in many years. The acting was top-notch and the special effects were incredible. I can't really see how you could make a better movie about giant robots fighting each other. Michael Bay kept the lame emo crap out of the movie and focused solely on action. The Special Forces squad in the movie is pretty awesome. It wasn't over the top and it struck me as the proper way a Spec Ops team would respond to giant robot attacks.
Arkan Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I just watched V for Vendetta. Good one. Just saw Transformers last night. Best movie of the year for me so far. It was everything I thought it could be and nothing I thought it wouldn't. Michael Bay did a great job. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
astr0creep Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Saw Transformers... again. And Letters from Iwo Jima. Expertly filmed and directed but who could've known war was so long and boring. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
astr0creep Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Snakes On A Plane. One word: Why? http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
Blarghagh Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 One word: Because. I watched "The Dark Crystal" again yesterday. That movie is so well-designed.
Guest The Architect Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 (edited) The Deer Hunter. It went on and on and on. Still, I found it to be just awesome. Edited July 10, 2007 by The Architect
Gfted1 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Underworld: Evolution I enjoyed the first one but this was just poo. Not even whatshername in latex could salvage this one. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Musopticon? Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I saw Underworld:Evolution as well. Complete garbage. The main actress can't act her way out of a cardboard box and the plot was tacked on and completely without drive. The fighting was decent, but fell short on the last battle. I was waiting quite a bit more. Though I've yet to see the first one, because the whole premise is "oh-so-gothy". kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today.
