Darth Drabek Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 (edited) Oh right, the dude running and the car. Yeah, that was pretty weird too. I like Radiohead up to OK Computer. After that they decided to ditch the guitars for beeps and boops, and they got real boring real fast. I still listen to The Bends every now and then. Great album. There was a guy I worked with in college who thought OK Computer was the greatest piece of music ever composed by a human being. It's good, but all the people like that guy just make me want to leave the pretentious art rock in the dust and go listen to the Supersuckers. Darth Drabek Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 you guys heard radiodread yet? it's pretty bitchin...though not as good as dub side of the moon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, heard four songs from it on the local college radio station. "No Suprises" was probably my favorite, although "Let Down" was pretty cool as well. The Posies - Golden Blunders baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Kor Qel Droma Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I thought Radiodreads' take on 'Karma Police' was quite entertaining. Pass the dutchie on the left hand side!!! The Posies - Please Return It Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

Daaave Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Smashing Pumpkins - My Blue Heaven. Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.
Darth Drabek Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Ornatos Violeta - Chaga This sounds like it could make a big splash over here. Catchy riffs and melodies, very upbeat. Their sound calls to mind My Chemical Romance without the histrionics and melodrama. And now, Afghan Whigs - Crime Scene Part One baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Pidesco Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I'm glad you like it. Unfortunately, as it's in portuguese and doesn't fall within the world music category, it has no chance of becoming big outside of Portugal. And the band has split up seven years ago. Darth Drabek Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 So I don't watch American Idol, but I know a lot of people do. Things like this make me wonder how many of those people create photo montages of American Idol candidates. And I would be there's an even smaller percentage of that subset of humanity who would dare cross the fresh-faced, nubile American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee with the world's coolest lecher and epitome of the male id, Greg Dulli. That said, I don't think it's as creepy as the Garfield thing I posted a few days ago. (The song is "66" by the Afghan Whigs) baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Kor Qel Droma Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 (edited) Heh, I saw that vid when searching for AW vids a while back. I agree, it would be like having an Oprah montage set to 'Welcome To The Jungle'. And this one is for Baley, since he's a fan of the Band. Robbie Robertson - Somewhere Down The Crazy River incidentally on the same album as that track is the original version of the song 'Broken Arrow' which the bastard Rod Stewart bastardized a while back Edited September 6, 2006 by Kor Qel Droma Jaguars4ever is still alive. Baley Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 Of all the 60s blues-inspired rock guitarists, I'd rate Robertson highest. I'm not much of a fan of his solo career, truth be told, I haven't really followed it. Liked that song's spoken word part though. Not bad. The Twilight Singers - Esta Noche.
