qaz156
Sometimes an RPG will include wit, sarcasm, situational comedy or just plain old jokes. I 'm wondering what are some of your favorite moments in any RPG that amused you or made you laugh, (even if it was just on the inside.) "To be, or not to be a real RPG, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows or outrageous action... or by taking up arms against a sea of crap and by opposing: end them." Nick_i_am
Disgaea (and La Pucelle and Makai Kingdom along with it) are pretty funny. However, funniest RPG ever and pretty much one of the funniest games ever goes to Anacranox. Normal RPGs say somthing like 'you can't go this way, the bridge is broken, please come back once you kill the stupid dragon'. Anacranox says (via the avatar of a cyber-police-man) 'sorry sir, there's a man on fire around this corner, you're going to have to wait till he puts himself out'. In the mean time, a man is running around on fire behind him screaming. And that's just to start with. kalimeeri
However, funniest RPG ever and pretty much one of the funniest games ever goes to Anacranox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One review of Anachronox said 'This game will make you laugh,' and I didn't believe it. But I laughed out loud--it's an honestly funny game, nothing forced about it. Right down through the credits. It's one of very few, of any media, that does humor right. CoM_Solaufein
Fallout has plenty of easter eggs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed it did, quite funny indeed. Nick_i_am
...I would have bought Minsc's teatime adventures. But yeah, all of the above are 'comedy moments in RPGs' not 'truely funny RPGs', of which there is only Anachronox. As far as console RPGs go, the Tales series has it's moments, and while it's an 'action game with RPG elements', Threads of Fate (not released in Europe) is funny as hell just because of mint. Just for the love of everything stay away from the Rue campain. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

Draken
The 'Easter Egg' in Vice City. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ha. Vice City was a funny game. Some of those VCPD guests were hilarious, especially when the nudist was shot. "Oh my God! There's blood and pubic hair everywhere!" Hurlshort
If we are just talking funny video games, nothing can beat the original Monkey Island and Sam n' Max. There has been a real lack of straight comedy games. I hope we see a decent revival wth that Bones game and the new San n' Max, but the most recent Monkey Island make me feel that the genre is dead. As for RPG's, Minsc and Boo are probably the best comedic pair out there, although I never played Anachronox. I thought KotOR had some great comedic moments as well. The funniest part of Fallout were the special perks you could choose.

"I tried the most potent Noise Amplification spell once upon a time. Mavellous spell. I could hear the birds speaking to one another in trees over the horizon, I could hear the rustlings as the clouds rubbed against each other in the sky. I could hear the sound a rainbow makes as it arches it's back over the world. Then a dog barked behind me and I burst my left eardrum."
