This doesn't have much to do with KotOR because I can't think of any backwards talking characters (I'm sure Vandar has correct grammar) but I guess inspired from raising Jar Jar Binks in the Favourite Alien thread.

Just a simple light-hearted poll on who you think has the worst grammar when speaking Basic.

Yoda: Talk backwards I may, but sound terrible I do not

(Anyone know why Yoda talks backwards and Vandar does not?)

My theory is that Yoda is severely dislexic. So bad in fact that words not only get jumbled when he reads, but also when he talks. :)

I'd say Jar Jar Binks has slightly better grammar than Yoda but that voice of his makes it sound a lot worse...

I dug up my Jedi Outcast and pieced together the cutscene between the Chiss Bartender and Kyle Katarn (since some people said in a previous Nar Shaddaa poll they haven't played JO before).

This GameSpot guy must've had the ugly shadow option on :ermm:

K = Kyle, B = Bartender

K: Bartender? (is ignored) BARTENDER!?

B: Ah, Jedis! I had no ideas! What can I do for you, honored Jedis?

K: I'm no Jedi. I'm just a guy with a lightsaber and a few questions.

B: Of course. Many peoples have them.

K: Lightsabers?

B: Questions. Hows abouts a Ruby Bliels?

K: Corellian ale...in a clean glass.

B: Of course, sirs. (gets the drink) Now, you seek informations?

K: What do you know about Reelo Baruk?

B: A respected waste disposal managers. This very establishment contracts with him to remove our garbages.

K: Where does he take your 'garbages'?

B: Who cares? Out of sight, out of minds, says us.

K: And it's all strictly legit, right?

B: As legitimate as anything on Nar Shaddaa, Mr. "Just-A-Guy".

K: Do you know where I can find Baruk?

B: Trulies?

K: Trulies.

B: Wait here. I get him for you.

(a blast shield then closes around the bar)

K: Never trust a bartender with bad grammar.

Yoda's is probably the worst, but I like his messed-up word order. Jar-Jar is just annoying though, so my vote goes to him, and I have no idea who the bartender is, never having played Jedi Outcast, only Jedi Academy.

I've played Outcast and Acadamy, I prefer Acadamy. I still play it from time to time whereas I only played Outcast once and didn't see any replay value to it. Granted that Acadamies is kinda' low, but it does have some.

Well if you have a bunch of SP character mods it adds a lot of replay value to it.

MP is what I play the most though.

But on-topic though, Gungans have the worst grammar alive.

Yoda is cool! I can sound just like him. Is backwards grammar add to the character I think. That and his size.

I think the bartender had the worse. But (to those who have played it) once Kyle kicks butt and gets the blast sheild open, and thrusts his saber i the guys face, the chiss starts talking normaly! The grammar was just a ploy.

Actually no:

(after the fighting and stuff)

"Please noble Jedis, not in the faces! Reelo's offices on higher levels, follow the garbage collectors."

Yoda: I say worse because I think Backwards Talking >> Wrong Plurals

Jar Jar: "The annoying voice clouds our judgement"

Chiss: It is bad grammar but not as bad as backwards talking Yoda - I find the whole dialog with Katarn very memorable though.

Jar Jar's grammar is most likely to interfere with communication, especially with a non-native speaker, so I'd suggest his is worst. Yoda's changes in word order matter little, especially since he speaks so slowly.

Jar Jar. Very annoying in speech and action. He ruined EP1 for me.
