Spider Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that the lower your humanity gets the harder it is to lower it further. So when you're at 3 it'll probably take something truly spectacular to go to 2.
Gorth Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I found the most difficult build to complete the game with, was an allround Malkavian, not really specialising in any combat discipline... it was so bad I even had to resort to a previous save and take a different "route" through the endgame (to avoid the hardest boss fight in the game IMHO) :"> Regarding Gangrels and needing a drink in Santa Monica, you can still squeeze a few drops out of rats, it's only Ventrues who are a bit squeemish when it comes to the menu It's just that Nosferatus get an awful lot of juice out of them. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. alanschu Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I've never hit below 3 humanity regardless of how I played
Child of Flame Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 I wanted to become completely inhuman too. On the bright side, the dialogue options for a more...animalistic vampire, are a lot of fun. Also, I created a New Gangrel after starting the thread with higher intimidation, and not only managed to get the guy to give me his watch, but also all the money in his wallet beside what he gave me already ($100) and then decided that a mugging wasn't complete if I didn't beat him up too so I took him out to the alley and knocked him out cold. :D

I made it through the game just fine with my Neo-ish katana wielding Ventrue. I would have gone with the Toreador just because celerity is awesome but the pretty boy look simply isn't for me and all the male Toreador outfits look like **** anyway. alanschu Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I felt the Ventrue avatar looked the best too! Reveal hidden contents It was perfect as he walked past Niles at the end and flipped him the bird when I went my own way .
Child of Flame Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 (edited) Man, I am still missing out on some pretty hefty bonuses, but it is more because my character is a total **** than because I needed them this time around. I am in Hollywood and I did the missions for Vivian, apparently Toreadors and Gangrel don't get along so well, and at the end of our business, rather than rewarding me with the autographed poster and the nifty photo I could sell for some major cashola, she told me my reward was that Reveal hidden contents she was still talking to me despite my best attempts to be an a$$hole. I did get some blood on the house from Misti out of the deal, but still. Man. Wasn't even PhD. Edited November 30, 2005 by Child of Flame
Child of Flame Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 On the other hand, going through the game from this direction rather than my schmoozing with the NPCs or outright liking them, it makes me kind of sad to know that Troika bit it while Bioware survived. Writing in this game is so much better than anything I've encountered in a Bio game. Also, it made me really sad when I killed Reveal hidden contents Julius even though I was a total badass about it. And my character is still a total oaf when it comes to picking up the ladeez. Me: "I find the most erotic part of a woman's body is the boobies." Hollywood Girl: "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH, UUUUUNNNNGGGGGHH. That sound familiar? Didn't think so."

They look cool in their leather trenchcoat and weilding the katana.
Calax Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Child it wasn't the clan that had any affect on your standing. It was your style. I got the poster with my gangrel the first time. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Hurlshort Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Malkavians have some seriously dirty outfits. My wife didn't really dig them when I showed her. Still, I think the chaps and the cowboy hat are pretty awesome looking.

Jora Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Except that they were willing to take the blame for all the problems in those games. They have said that more than once. But if someone asked them why more patches weren't being released, they didn't want to lie and not say it was the publisher's decision. And even if they were unable to make polished products in the time given to them, so were their publishers' QA teams incompetent. Releasing clearly unfinished products isn't a sign of a good publisher either.
Jora Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 By the way, we had the same discussion almost precisely a year ago when Bloodlines was released.

Slowtrain Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 However, SP, it's worth pointing out that both Bloodlines and Arcanum turned out, post patch, to be 2 of the better crpgs ever made. Let's be honest, its now sop to release buggy games. To hang Troika up by their balls for that seems a tad unfair. I was as sad to see Troika drop as I was to see Origin and Microprose go under.
