First review of Kotor 2

Um. You gots to be jokin'. KOTOR2 has been hyped just as much as KOTOR if not more so. It's also a lot easier to hype it when you can put in "Seuqel to the tope selling and critically acclaimed KOTOR is coming out soon and it'as even better!" That = insta sells = supe rhype.

 

As for reviews, the score really isn't that important in the long run. I notice that even reviews with variant scores (ie. 9.5 - 8.5) will usually pin point the good and the bad almost in sync. the emat of the artcile discussing the features not the opinions is what really matters.

Atton Rand = Han Solo Guy

Bao-Dur = A Zabrek tech specialist. Darth Mauls race

Handmaiden= Protective stowaway

Visas Marr = Blind Jedi Sentinal

T3-M4 = Droid

Obsideons decision to make you defenseless for so long was a risk, but the moment you cobble together your first makeshift 'sabre it's like rediscovering what made KOTOR so great in the first place. And from then on in, you're armed almost well enough to start investigationg this most devious and delicious of stories. "I am your father" doesn't even come close"

 

 

The Party

 

"Each has an agenda and seems to be helping you because it suits them, not because they are particularly beheld to you. This causes friction within the group, which, naturally you're left to resolve.

 

The implementation of potentially volitile 'side taking' within the party is just the first of many new interwoven elements of KOTOR II"

 

"Depending on how long you listen to someone, or how often you heed their advice, their opinion of you will rise or fall, as will their force alignment.

 

Others in your party who disagree with your actions (light or dark) will then cease to offer help, so there is potential for your team, the people you'll rely on to save your life, to implode from within"

With newer AK-50 and AK-51 droids being used to hunt you by the Sith, A -47 might hold a few clues as to why the original crew are missing. If you want to repair him this becomes one of KOTOR II'S ongoing mini-games. Every planet you visit has a part that will mend him. The question is though, will you want to hear what he has to say?"

Great, now we have to perform CPR on the Galaxy. >_< Is it me, or is the Republic constantly needing help from other sources? Small wonder they keep turning to the Jedi. :thumbsup:

 

I'm tempted to throw in the towel on the Republic score and strike out on my own. Who knows that if we fix the situation, the Republic won't go ahead and screw it up again (in fact we can be assured that they will). I think they're far too bureaucratic for the good of the Galaxy. :rolleyes: Can't rely on them for anything ... (grumbling) <_<

 

The above only applies to the Republic Government though, not the general population (whom I'd gladly do my utmost to defend, including, but not limited to, throwing whatever wrench I can into the Sith Lords plans - although, I'm gonna need to find some steadfast allies first). :shifty:

if it were not for the jedi there would be no republic that is why.

True, but I can't help but feel resentment because people have to suffer from the bureaucrats' poor judgement. Ah well, all in the name of entertainment.

Some other bit of info from the article.

 

There were some screens in the mag that had info on different characters. In their back ground was the mist that shows up in their character pic in the game. Kreia was gray and Visas Marr was blue,an effect of your actions towards them? Or simply nothing more then a pretty pic? Didn't think somone like Marr could be switched.

 

And there's a comment about Handmaiden:

 

"fiercely protective of you and will follow you to the ends of the galaxy"

I dare not read what has been blacked out.  I haven't read a negative post yet...so the article must really praise Kotor II.  Awesome, I can't wait.  F'n A.

 

It's not what they talk about that's so intriguing, it's more of the possibilities that are presented with the articles. HK-47's little blurb, for an example. I already know that the game has the possibility of being astounding and captivating, with a honorary plot and such, and I also know that it could read like Kidnapped, a letdown. Anything before December 7th, or even 8th, isn't going to be very spoiling, as most will be musings and speculations.
